Brown Rat

TLCB likes rat rods. They’re effectively recycling on wheels. This Lego Ford-based rat comes from TLCB favourite _Tyler, who was inspired by another, much larger, Lego creation that featured here back in 2018. Head to Flickr to take a look.

Aaaawingadingadingadinga…

TLCB doesn’t care much for old-timey wingadinga type cars. Nor brown cars. This is both. Despite those drawbacks though, it is wonderful, being a 1915 Saxon Model 14 from previous bloggee _Tyler, who has both built and presented his model superbly. It’s also a car that featured in ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade’ (albeit […]

Bean’s Nemesis

Superman and Lex Luther. Batman and Joker. Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote. Peter Griffin and the Giant Chicken. There are some very famous nemesis, but – in this writer’s opinion – none more so than Mr. Bean and the mystery driver a blue Reliant Regal van. We don’t know why the aforementioned anonymous van-driver enraged […]

Ingenius ’32

We keep saying it, but you really don’t need a billion bricks to build something brilliant. Case in point; this stunning ’32 Ford Pick-Up hot rod by Flickr’s 1saac W. Inspired by TLCB favourite _Tyler, 1saac has used droid arms, pneumatic hoses, sideways bricks, upside-down bricks, and even a few normal-side up bricks to create […]

The Clerk

Ford’s humble Anglia has enjoyed something of a resurgence thanks to Harry Potter, but it was a neat classic car before J.K Rowling included it her books. Before that of course it was a rather neat modern car, with some pretty distinctive styling for the time. Whilst not a Jaguar, a Singer or a Humber, […]

Black on Black

A double post today, as two previous bloggees appear here with a pair of black mini-figure scale classics. First up (above) is _Tyler‘s glorious 5-wide Ford Anglia 100E in police specification, complete with a brilliantly authentic 1950s British police officer. Today’s second black classic comes from Jonathan Elliot who has built a lovely 6-wide ‘anonymous black […]

Rusty Slammington

BMWs in TLCB’s home nation are everywhere. Whilst we appreciate that to much of our readership they’re seen as a slightly unusual luxury car, to this writer they are the epitome of the boring rep-mobile, driven by boring people on boring roads to impress their boring friends who also drive boring BMWs. Not so this […]

Brown-low

TLCB’s favourite Town-scale hot rod builder is back, as Flickr’s _Tyler has added another beautiful creation to his already impressive collection. There’s more to see of his latest hot rod and his previous works at the link above.

Not Rod

Ford’s Model T is undoubtedly the most remarkable car in history. The world’s first mass-produced car, constructed using the world’s first production line*, built in at least 12 countries, and with production spanning eighteen years, the Model T was at one point more popular than all the other cars on sale worldwide put together. With […]

Bricking Beige

Beige. The least sexy of all the colours. Not here though, were Flickr’s _Tyler has used the depressingly bland hue to brilliant effect. There’s more to see of his beige hot rod at his photostream – click the link above to make the jump.

Mr. T

Long before jibba-jabba was quit and fools were pitied, Mr. T was rather different. Here he is doffing his cap to a lady on the sidewalk while taking his splendid new automobile out for a drive. Flickr’s _Tyler is the builder of this neat Model T scene and there’s more to see here.

Fifty-Five

Flickr’s _Tyler appears on these pages so regularly he’s going to need his own section soon. His latest creation is this absolutely gorgeous ‘55 Chevrolet, and we’ve never wanted a Town-scale car more. Ingenious parts usage and spectacular photography can be found at _Tyler’s photostream – click here to see just how good small Lego cars […]

Mellow Yellow

TLCB Elves love yellow. We’re not sure Smarties are identifiable by taste (apart from the orange ones of course) but our Elves seem to favour the citrous hue. This beautifully smooth Volksrod by Flickr’s _Tyler meets their colour preference, and it’s a cracking build too. There’s more to see on Flickr – click the link above to […]

Ol’ Red

You may think the current trend for building smooth, studless creations requires LEGO’s newer smoother pieces, but TLCB favourite _Tiler proves that you get the look whilst going very old-school indeed. _Tyler’s beautiful hot rod utilises a Fabuland roof (one of LEGO’s weirder past themes) combined with classic Town grey/white tyres, and they look absolutely resplendent here. You can see _Tiler’s […]

Oh What a Day! What a Lovely Day!

It hasn’t taken long for some of the incredible vehicles from brilliant 2015 film ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘ to start appearing in Lego form. The first to appear here come from one of our favourite Town-scale builders; Flickr’s _Tyler. There’s lots more to see at his Mad Max photo album, including these epic recreations of […]
