Lancia-Martini Historic Rally Team | Picture Special

It’s time for something rather special here at The Lego Car Blog; this is Bricksonwheels’ phenomenal Lancia Martini Historic Rally Team, formed of a a ’92 Lancia Delta Integrale Evo, an ’85 Lancia 037, and – proving Martini’s racing livery can make literally anything cool – a Fiat Ducato van, complete with tools, spares, and equipment. And each is amongst the finest examples of Lego model-making that you will ever see.

With expertly recreated liveries courtesy of fellow previous bloggee JaapTechnic, Bricksonwheel‘s creations are near perfect replicas of the stars of Lancia’s greatest era. And a Fiat van, but that’s a near perfect replica too.

Each model is built from around 2,000 pieces and includes fully detailed suspension, engine and interior, with every aspect constructed with mind-bending attention to detail.

There’s much more to see at Bricksonwheels’ Lancia Martini Historic Rally Team album on Flickr by clicking the link above, you can see the Delta Integrale’s individual appearance here at TLCB last year by clicking these words, and you can read Bricksonwheels’ interview as part of the Master Mocer Series by clicking here to learn how he creates amazing models like these.

[Hoonitruck]

This is the ‘Hoonitruck’, Ken Block’s ridiculously powerful all-wheel-drive, twin-turbo Ecoboost V6-engined classic Ford F-150 pick-up truck, and it’s glorious. You might now be expecting us to say ‘well, this one isn’t obviously, this is Lego…’ but we won’t, because this really is ridiculously powerful, all-wheel-drive, and comes with with a twin-turbo V6.

Previous bloggee Lachlan Cameron is the builder behind it, whose recreation of Block’s ‘Hoonigan’ Ford Mustang was TLCB’s most viewed creation of 2018, and his latest build is every bit as awesome.

A pair of third-party BuWizz bluetooth batteries delivery up to eight times the power of LEGO’s own system, with each hooked up to its own Technic Buggy Motor, the most powerful motor that LEGO have ever produced.

The result is… well something that a Lego model shouldn’t really be capable of, and thankfully Lachlan has fitted fully independent suspension and all-wheel-drive to try to manage that power.

The model also features a complete (and superbly accurate) exterior wrap courtesy of fellow previous bloggee Jaap Technic, plus a wealth of chromed parts via Bubul, and – to pre-emptively answer the question we’re sure to be asked – Lachlan has a habit of making instructions for his creations available too, so keep an eye out for the arrival a link.

In the meantime there’s much more of Lachlan’s spectacular build to see at both Flickr and Eurobricks, plus you can watch what all-wheel-drive and eight times the power can do via the video below…

Model Team Spreen

This enormous (and beautiful) Model Team Scania T143EL 8×4/4 truck, with Spreen livery, a spectacular gooseneck trailer, and a Volvo 350F loader was discovered by one of our Elves on Flickr. It comes from TLCB favourite Dennis Bosman (aka legotrucks) and was two years in the making, with help from fellow builders JaapTechnic and the late Ingmar Spijkhoven. Not only does Dennis’ build look unbelievably detailed, there’s also an SBrick buried in their somewhere allowing this model to operate via bluetooth. There’s loads more to see of this incredible creation at Dennis’s Scania T143EL 8×4/4 album on Flickr – click the link above to take a look, and here to read his interview as part of the Master MOCers series here at The Lego Car Blog.

Lego Liebherr LTM 1090 4.1 Crane Sarens

That’s how long it took builder Dirk Klijn to design, engineer and construct this utterly spellbinding Sarens-liveried Liebherr LTM 1090 4.1 crane, in full road configuration with boom extension and 14 tons of counterweight.

Lego Liebherr LTM Crane Remote Control

Seventeen working motorised functions are controlled by no less than five third-party SBrick devices, making the Liebherr one of the most advanced Lego models that this site had ever featured, and if that wasn’t enough the model also features all-wheel suspension, a manually folding boom jib and two highly detailed accessible cabins.

Dirk’s model is also one of the most visually realistic creations we’ve ever found too, with a wealth of superb detailing further enhanced by custom decals produced by previous bloggee JaapTechnic, and full LED lighting.

A suitably large gallery of stunning imagery is available to view now at Dirk’s Flickr photostream – click this link to jump to Liebherr LTM 1090 4.1’s full album – we’ll see you there.

Mercedes-Benz Actros Heavy Haul – Picture Special

Lego Mercedes-Benz Actros

Featuring two Mercedes-Benz Actros 8×4 trucks, a Nooteboom steered-trailer and a Volkswagen Transporter, this heavy haulage team is very probably the most impressive multi-model build of the year.

The complete set has been designed and built by the immensely talented Jaap Technic, and each vehicle is one of the most astonishingly well detailed Lego creations that we’ve ever published.

Lego Mercedes-Benz Actros

Each Mercedes-Benz Actros truck includes a fully detailed cab inside and out, with the interior reached through opening doors and the V8 engine accessed via a tilting cabin.

Twin XL Motors power the trucks’ driven wheels whilst a Servo Motor turns the front two steering axels of each tractor unit, plus there are working LED lights front and rear, all controlled by a third-party SBrick bluetooth-compatible receiver.

The Volkswagen Transporter convoy support van isn’t left out either, with a trick Brickstuff sourced working light-bar and custom decals throughout.

Jaap has photographed the complete haulage team beautifully and we highly recommend taking a look. Click here to see the full gallery on Flickr and here to read further details of the build and join the discussion on Eurobricks.

On Location

Lego VW Transporter Convoy

Lego models photographed on location look the business. This stunning Mercedes-Benz Actros with Nooteboom trailer and its Volkswagen Transporter escort vehicle have appeared here previously as part of a builder collaboration.

Flickr’s JaapTechnic has since completed his elements of that original set-up by adding fully working lights and high-quality decals to his models. The latest images place the convoy into a real world setting, and the results are spectacular. Click here to see all of the new images at Jaap’s photostream.

Convoi Exceptionnel Picture Special

 Lego Crane Transport Truck

There’s a very fat Elf somewhere in the office today. Fat because it legitimately earned – and spent – four meal tokens in one go.

Lego Volkswagen Transporter Van

Flickr’s Barry Bosman (aka Barman76), Dirk Klein, Lifting Bricks and TLCB debutant JaapTechnic have caused the temporary obesity through their wonderful quartet of complimenting creations; JaapTechnic’s huge Mercedes-Benz heavy haulage truck, Dirk Klein’s mobile crane load upon Lifting Bricks’ Noteboom trailer  and, our favourite, a simply brilliant Volkswagen Transporter escort vehicle by JaapTechnic. Each is a work of art and all are available to view at Barman76’s photostream via the link to Flickr above.
