I know you discourage self-submission but as I only manage to finish one of my cars every four years or so I thought I’d at least bring it your attention. If you feel it makes the cut I’d love to see it here.
That is a superb car, and it’s perfect for this blog. However, the pictures are borderline. A sharpen using the auto edit in iPhoto or similar could make a huge difference to the colouring. We can do this, but we much prefer using photos as they are (for time reasons!). Can you look into sharpening the main image and a 3/4 rear for us?
Hey guys – just found your site and I’m liking it a lot. Had so much fun reading through the interviews with prominent LEGO car MOCers. I was wondering: have you considered putting a search feature in your site. I found myself wanting to search your site for any posts about LEGO engines models, since that’s my current area of interest. Peace!
There is indeed a Search function! You can find it at the foot of every page (or top on some mobiles), plus you can use the tags under every blog post to look up other posts using the tag of your choosing.
Digging this Huayra from one of my favourite builder’s, Geoffrey Welch. Adore his Cartoony 6-wides, and he isn’t afraid to show some studs. Hope you like it!
Apologies, because these models produced and sold for profit we cannot feature them here without clearly saying so.
TLCB has very occasionally featured ‘third party’ products in the past, but only when a copy of the product or service has been supplied to enable us to write an honest review (which could be good or bad). These can be found in the Set Reviews tab within the main menu.
Happy new year! I spent the better part of 2015 designing and building this McLaren P1 and instruction manual. I think your readers would really enjoy it. You can see stills and a video here. http://legop1.tumblr.com/ And thank you for your amazing blog, which provided much inspiration as I revisited a childhood obsession. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by, and for sharing your creation with us. If you’re not yet on MOCpages, Brickshelf or Flcikr we recommend setting up an account so you can share your creations within the online Lego Community. Happy Building!
Hi thelegocarblog! I love your website about cars and love especially movie cars! This is the reason why I created a project based on the famous truck of the movie of Johnny Depp, Charlie and the chocolate factory with Lego bricks and published the design on Lego deas. Lego Ideas (lego ideas is a website which allows users to submit ideas for Lego products to be turned into potential Lego sets available commercially if they reache 10 000 supporters). This project has 2270 supporters yet but it is not enough (the project needs ~7700 supporters! So please if you like it could you help me to promote my lego Ideas project by publishing the project on your website? I would be really honored! Link of the project: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/102668
Thank you in advance! ☺
Sorry though, we can’t publish it here because it’s not really car-related, nor is it built in real bricks, and it was also self-suggested (we get lots of Ideas requests).
However we wish you all the best with your project, and to our visitors reading this – click the link in Tim’s comment above to see his Willy Wonker scene!
Hi the lego car blog ! I created a lego project based on the two famous car of the world of Mr Bean : the green ant thebl ue car ! Please could you help me to promote this lego ideas project (10 000 supporters could make it an official lego set) on your blog page ? Thank you in advance 🙂 link of the project : https://ideas.lego.com/projects/130525
We like the way you think! So much so that this creation has appeared here already; http://thelegocarblog.com/2014/03/09/six-pack/ (whilst the image you have found is new the model was first uploaded back in 2013).
You can see all of the blog posts featuring Norton74 by using the search function at the foot of the page.
Thanks for your reply. I’d like to read more about Norton’s vehicles and I think he could be featured in “Master Mocers series” interviews. Is it in your future programs? Best regars. Brandy
My friend João Campos, member from PLUG (portuguese LUG), did a fantastic two floors AEC Regent III bus, from the 50´s used in Lisbon from 1957 to 81 on CARRIS ( the Lisbon Bus and Tram Company).
It´s on (almost) 1:17 scale
2478 parts
5 months building
He used to be my ex. But we’re in good terms now. My deepest apology if I’m becoming a troll on your site.
Much appreciated your time replying and more power to your blog.
We have missed that one – and it looks great! Unfortunately it’s too old for us to post here (we only blog creations or images uploaded in the last week or so), however we can make an exception if the idea is about to reach a milestone, regardless of its age. If the Ideas project is about to cross a supports no. and you need a help to push it over let us know!
Ever since attempting to build a Stratos, I car I loved to begin with, I’ve always had a thing for other Stratos models, respecting their effort. Peter’s RC one is no exception, and definitely deserves blogging.
Sorry, we don’t support LEGO Ideas projects unless they are close to a milestone and they meet our submission criteria. It’s a good model nevertheless!
Both your suggestions are good creations. The Caterham, though ingenious, isn’t complex enough to feature here, but the Tuk-Tuk may do. We’ll see if we can fit this in later in the week.
I don’t disagree with Alex all scales are nice if the technique used is advanced!By the way I came across some photos of this creation https://www.flickr.com/photos/132941798@N07/18315504276/in/photostream/ at flickr and I liked it…so many details and functions in a so small car?Although it’s a render(I prefer real creations)…but I thing it’s quite interesting.
P.S I don’t know how to upload a link…would you mind telling me?
I agree with Alex, all scales are nice if the technique used is advanced!By the way I came across some photos of that neat tiny creation at flickr(https://www.flickr.com/photos/132941798@N07/18315504276/in/photostream/)…it has so many details and function in a width of 4 wides! The only thing that makes me a little upset is that it is rendered(I mostly like real creations )but I found this quite interesting so I suggest it…
P.S I don’t know how to upload links would you mind telling me?
Sorry to hear that…
I was hoping the transforming function squeezed into such a small model would be interesting enough… Anyway, I’ll keep on bricking.
Wow – that is a spectacular creation! However, we’re struggling to find an image good enough to appear here. However, your previous suggestion will be blogged shortly!
It may lack a little aesthetically, but full tuneable suspension, an 8-speed auto gearbox and MINDSTORMS drive in a 1:10 car? I’ve finally found something that trumps the 8880!
Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to find this exact MOC anywhere else – seems like it’s only on Youtube.
Hello TLCB elves, I found this guy following a link from a review, I don’t really like rally cars, but I do like Beetles, so maybe it fits your quality standards…
Your suggestion meets our criteria, however we have a few large posts scheduled currently so at the moment we won’t be blogging it just yet (but we may be able to later on). It is a good find though.
I just came across some large scale classic F1 cars on mocpages. Never heard the name of the builder before but he seems to be quite talented: http://www.moc-pages.com/home.php/124904
Hello TLCB team!
I know you don’t acept self-requests, but I’m making a car contest to wake up MOCpages, so I thought you may be interested. The link to the group: http://www.moc-pages.com/group.php/25882.
-Marco. qm
Sorry, we are not able to endorse competitions here at TLCB as we receive lots of requests for support. However, should a vehicle or vehicles be blog-worthy and appear here we absolutely can link to the competition in which they are entered.
A good suggestion, however unfortunately the images on MOCpages aren’t a high quality (the photos are well taken, but the image, when blown up, is a bit fuzzy). Thus on this occasion we can’t blog your suggestion.
Thanks for stopping by. That’s a very cool design, and something we would consider publishing here – however unfortunately the images are not of a high enough quality. Nevertheless, a good find.
We’re in contact with the creators of the Fiat 500 and are waiting for them to build their design in real bricks. Once they have built it for real (and send us their pictures) we’ll be blogging this creation.
If the image you’d like to share is already on the internet you can include the link to it in a comment. If the image is not publicly available we recommend making it so. The most popular methods are MOCpages, Flickr, and Brickshelf.
Hi Markus, It’s a fine looking car but it would be great if he had some well lit photos with a plain background. If there are some new photos, please let us know and we might send some Elves round!
Thanks for your suggestion. We’ll be blogging it soon. After all of the “Bonk, Smash, Thud” on MOCpages, the Elves don’t visit it as frequently as they used to.
We sent in some Elves with magnifying glasses to look carefully at the pictures on MOCpages and unfortunately they’re renders of LDD. At the moment, the Elves aren’t big fans of virtual Lego creations, though this might change in the future. Thanks for your suggestion but unfortunately it doesn’t meet our current criteria.
Many apologies: it turns out that the car is actually in real bricks. The Brothers Brick have blogged it, using better quality images from Flickr (MOCpages does horrible things to photos and displays at a poor resolution). The EXIF info in on the photos too. Looks like we’d better get blogging! Apologies again. https://flic.kr/p/MNCoDA
I know the pictures aren’t good enough for you, but we (People of the ‘pages) are in contact with the builder to make him take better pictures. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/433882#reviews
Hope you are interested,
-Marco. Qm
Hello TLCB and Saschaanton,
First, I really want to thank Saschaanton for the suggestion, so: thanks!
Second, to TLCB, I found this 911 http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/434972 on Mocpages and I can take better pictures of the Isetta if you want.
-Marco Qm
We would always recommend taking as high quality images as possible. Your creation would be a bit old now, but one day you may well appear here – just keep improving. Try not to focus on being blogged, build because you enjoy it!
I thought Ryan Link’s Enzo Ferrari couldn’t get better anymore, but he pas proven me wrong! Check out his latest version here, I think it might meet your criteria 😉 http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/435102#reviews
I’ve found another one! As you might know I’m a big fan of 4-wide “Tiny Turbo” models. I know you don’t post these small models very often, but I think you might do so with this one.
DerLuckyy has posted a great 4-wide version of Ken Block’s “Hoonigan” 4WD Mustang:
Thanks for your message. We’ve been following this builder for a while, in fact the first iteration of the creation you’ve suggested was blogged here in 2012; https://thelegocarblog.com/2012/04/07/get-bent/
Hey guys, thought I’d bring this little beast to your attention. Idk if the picture quality is good enough, but it’s a really cool idea, and very well built as well as being y e l l o w
Hello TLCB, I think you should post this just to inform the Lego community about people selling other’s MOCs on e-bay, just read the comments and you will know there is a big problem. https://www.flickr.com/photos/_tiler/31791896245/in/photostream/
-Marco. Qm
It’s not a suggestion, nor is it feedback, I just didn’t know where to say:
“Merry Christmas” to you peoples there in TLCB (and for the elves too!)
-Marco. Qm
Hello Ivan
Thanks for your suggestion! It meets our criteria but we have a few other things to post so we may not get to this one, but we do watch this builder!
Kind regards, TLCB Team
Thanks for your suggestion. A good model well photographed, but not quite as good close up, so we decided not to blog it when one of our Elves brought this back earlier.
Do you have a link to MOCpages / Flickr / Brickshelf etc.? We don’t publish anything directly from Ideas on request, as we receive loads of Lego Ideas messages and we’re careful to remain impartial where possible. If you have a link to another site and the model meets our guidelines then it could appear here.
It meets our criteria (although it does look a bit short), but we have a bit of a queue at the moment so we probably won’t blog this one as we’re have a few more varied things to publish this week.
Thanks for your message. This model was published today. We often schedule posts rather than publishing finds immediately, so it’s probably best to wait a day before suggesting a model as it may already be in the system.
Not sure if 2-in-1 multi-function builds fall outside your Venn diagram, but this days-old Ideas/MOC is a minimalist RC-style buggy that doubles as a universal phone or tablet stand: http://imgur.com/gallery/al8PV
Reasons why:
1. It is beautiful
2. It is well done and cleverly designed
3. If enough people support it then it has a fighting chance of being made into a real Lego car that you can buy
Thanks for your suggestion. It is indeed, but it’s a bit abstract for us here so we decided not to blog it when one of the Elves found it earlier in the week.
Hello TLCB Team.
I just have found on Brickshelf a Kress 200C Caul hauler made by someone called “Super-koala”. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=568975
Probably not the best creation you can find, but (correct me if i’m wrong) it is the first time someone do this truck with Lego. It changes from classical dump truck.
There is also some other interesting creation in the Super-koala’s shelf.
Hope you will appreciate,
I.M.
Thanks for your suggestion. What a weird (yet good!) build! Probably a bit too weird and maybe a little untidy to be published here, but thanks for the bringing the builder to our attention, we’ll be watching them from now on!
Thanks for your suggestion. We’re won’t be blogging it this time but we are now following the builder on Flickr, as they look to be a possible future bloggee.
Thanks for your suggestion, that’s a brilliant and brilliantly photographed build. However, as it’s a re-build of someone else’s model (which we’ve featured here before) we aren’t able to blog it.
Hi TLCB,
I manage a Youtube channel on which I share Lego train related videos. Another hobby of mine is mountaineering. I’ve combined these two hobbies by setting up a Lego train track high up in the mountains and made an awesome video of it!
Here’s the link: https://youtu.be/HS-VC1BAeoM
If you haven’t seen it yet have a look and feel free to use it on your website.
You might be interested by The 2 following Ferrari I created for my son. Both are in A Lego Speed Champions size and made of real bricks (and a few stickers)
I have also created few digital projects (ran short of bricks) that you maybe interested in – all of them again in a Speed Champ size. The pics made them look very real though and I don’t desperate to build them in real, once I have saved enough money to order the necessary bricks (a bit pricey when bought by unit on pick a brick Lego website!)
Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 gatherimg a lot of attention on social media lately (e.g. Peugeot and WRC official Facebook pages…) and in need for more support on Lego Idea page to become a reality (anything your little elves could do would be most welcome!) https://ideas.lego.com/projects/171007
We like your builds very much! If built in real bricks, and uploaded to Flickr, MOCpages or another creation-sharing site, we would definitely consider blogging them. Let us know if that can happen!
I am conscious that some of them are not made of real beloved bricks (yet) but there are 2 good reasons for that:
1. I am a bit short of money to order the pricey spare parts to build these sets
2. I’ve realised that the pictures are much nicer when generated with a good digital rendering (and a bit of artistic TLC) rather than with a camera (most probably because I am not a gifted photographer)
Anyway, each project has been created to be easy to build and to last in time (using my Lego engineering common sense)
So please have a look and let me know if you are interested by these projects …and profound apologies for frustrating your little elves by not giving them the opportunity to play with them straight away!
With or without my projects, I cannot wait for you next edition of your blog; it is witty, very instructive and imaginative. My daily ray of sunshine really!
Please keep up the great work!
Your pages aren’t visible yet (they require a moderator at MOCpages to activate them first), but we’ll check back in a few days when they’ve been approved to appear publicly on MOCpages.
Dear TLCB team,
First I apologies for my poor english, I am from France !
I have design about 54 motorcycles inspired from real ones, with Lego Technic and Lego parts. You can found some of them on my website : http://moc-nemooz.com/
If you can tell what you think about them and which one you prefer.
Thanks for your suggestion. It’s a good well-presented build, however as the builder has titled the model as a replica of a real car they have set the bar a little too high for themselves to be blogged here, as real cars must meet a more exacting standard.
found a pretty cool lotus espirt on lego ideas whilst helping brick show, it even has the james bond variant in the comments but he says he couldn’t submit that which sucks but the car looks pretty cool
[Image Removed]
Found this nice Ferrari F1 car on Flickr by ekjohnson1. Key features are the antenna arms for the suspension rods and the use of the speed champions sticker sheet!
If not already in the queue, you should blog Carter’s new BR2049 Spinner. I know there’s a few of these around now, but this one is particularly detailed and accurate.
Thanks for your suggestion. That’s an excellent build. However if the upload date is accurate it is too old for us to publish it here (let us know if otherwise), as we only blog creations posted in the past week or two. However, we have ‘Followed’ the builder for future creations.
This must be a pretty busy period for you, with Xmas approaching.
Chin up, you are doing a wonderful job!!
To help you in your quest for new Lego cars, I have attached the following MOC-Pages links to access Supermodels from the 80’s / early 90’s (Steady now – we are talking mechanics here!)
A Pug 205 T16 (You have already published the virtual model, but this is the real-brick one – So much nicer and playable!!) http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438321
Just a small note: I am a bit ashamed, because I am the creator of these models and I should not promote myself really 🙁
But if you are willing to forgive me for this ‘small’ breach of rules and if you like my own Speed champs private collection, please don’t hesitate to publish them (That would make me and my 7 years son v. happy!!)
Thanks for your message, it’s always good to hear from a past bloggee! All of your models meet our quality standard (horay!), but all are too old to be blogged here, as we only post new content (plus we don’t accept self -requests).
However, if a new photo of all of your models together was to be uploaded, and an Elf was to find it, there’s a good chance of making another appearance…
Happy Christmas and we’ll continue to follow your builds : )
Thanks for your suggestion. It meets our criteria, would you like to guest blog it for us? Send us your text via Flickr mail if so and reply here to let us know! You will of course be credited in the text.
Dear mighty Elves,
Here comes a Speed Champions Set that you might like.
(A Peugeot 205 T16 and a Lancia Delta S4 from the mighty WRC Group B from the 80’s)
This is based on digital models, that have finally been converted into real bricks projects.
Hopefully this tiny set meets your expectations (it is all new, pic quality is OK…).
The only downside is that I am actually the creator of this set (I was so excited to have produced them in real, that I could not wait for another Lego fan to spot the MOC page).
Sorry for this little ‘breach’ of rules but it is for a greater brick good, I think?.
Anyway I hope you’d like the level of details and accuracy at such a tiny scale…
Finally you’ve got a big hello from the 2 ‘Elves on a Shelf’ who have been entertaining my 2 young kids for the past week. One is call Klaus and the other one Rudy – You might know them well 🙂
I can say that I’d suggest this double MOC here too. So if it’s OK for the TLCB team, it would be cool to see these beauties posted :-).
Best wishes
Nils
Many thanks to you and Nils for your nice words and suggestions – I have uploaded some new pics of the tiny Pug 205 and its transalpine rival, the Lancia Delta.
This time, I have opted for neutral beige background, because it works quite well with the white main colour of both models and, somehow, it does remind of the exciting dirt produced by a rally car in action.
I feel these pics are much better than the previous ones, but I am no photographic expert, unfortunately.
So, I leave to your wise judgment and look forward to any further feedback from you.
did you see David Robert’s “Big Red 23”?
It’s not only a big stylish NCS rover with a cool interior. It also has some neat Technic features including Ackermann steering system, rear suspension and PowerFunctions RC.
We wanted to let you ‘Scifi Elves’ out there know that following up on last years great turn out, we’re currently hosting another Speeder Bike Contest which might be of interest to your readers. 🙂
Thanks for your suggestion. We don’t usually blog LEGO Ideas projects, however as this model is on Flickr and MOCpages and it meets our criteria it will appear shortly!
That’s good enough for us, your suggestion will appear shortly! And this has nothing to do with the massive Elven tantrum that will occur unless we blog it whatsoever.
Thanks for your suggestion. The car/robot do look great! However you’re right about the photo quality, which is not good enough for the model to appear here – sorry.
Thanks for the update (and for helping out a fellow builder too – that’s great to see!).
They are indeed better, but still a bit borderline, which as the model itself is borderline too means we won’t be blogging the builder on this occasion. However we have now ‘Followed’ them on Flickr to watch for future builds.
Image hints; natural lighting works best, you can take an image from further away and then crop, and ‘auto enhance’ works wonders sometimes too!
Here’s a Ford Fiesta WRC build which, at a glance looks just like the Speed Champions set… until you look closer. Rebuilt at 7-wide and packed full of details: engine, interior, some roll cage, opening hood, trunk… It’s very cool to see a fresh new TLG set reinterpreted in a way which both shows off the potential of the new parts and the ingenuity the SC series inspires in builders.
Another one for you. Not sure if you’ve blogged Edge before (I’ll go search), but he’s got a trove of great builds and is banging on fire right now. He’s got some wild Group B versions, but this clean, red street version of the UR Quattro just ooozes refinement: https://www.flickr.com/photos/63445627@N02/41114573984/in/dateposted/
OMG, Brickheadz-scale movie cars? First I’ve seen of any vehicular build for Brickheadz… I suspect this is the tip of a fantastic iceberg (think Ponch & John, A-Team, Magnum PI, Smokey and the Bandit, Cannonball Run… endless, endless possibilities here). Far as I can tell, JP gets the nod as the first with his BTTF DeLorean:
The stories of cars are really about the people who build and work on them. Here’s an amazing look into a garage run by some very safety-first little people:

Hi, I’m a avid follower of your blog.
Would like to recommend a creation from a good friend of mine. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/447814
Hope this meets your criteria.
Thanks!
Dear Beloved Elves,
I know you are working very hard and hope you will soon have a well-deserved and nice Summer holiday.
2 creations I wanted to point out to you (and big-big apologies in advance because it is a bit of self-promotion, but I thought you might be interested anyway…)
Those are (more) lovely creations from you! The image quality, being MOCpages, is a bit low though, so we’d recommend also posting to Flickr, or using Flickr to host your images on MOCpages, as the quality is higher.
I saw this and thought it may appeal, great accuracy at this scale, nice usage of newer and older parts…
[Image Removed]
Thanks for your continued support of my own work too
Hey I found a dude on Instagram that does mad max mocs. I don’t think I’ve ever seen his stuff featured here but I could be wrong. If you want to check him out, his Instagram is @Bloodred_bricks and he has some modded official sets and some of his own stuff
It’s an excellent creation photographed very well. However as it is a modification of an existing creation that has already been blogged (yours!) (https://thelegocarblog.com/2018/05/14/the-power-of-four/) on this occasion we won’t be blogging it.
Thanks for your suggestion. It’s a lovely design, but is unfortunately it’s also a digital model with only average rendering quality, and thus we’re not able to blog it here.
Have you seen this awesome LEGO automated garbage truck?! Check it out! There’s a cool video to watch, a bin arm that works and a cool Father & Son story.
Thanks for your message! We have indeed, we’re waiting for the builder to post the complete suite of images and build details (which they normally do a short while after their ‘exclusive’ image from past experience) and then this model will be blogged.
‘Febrovery’ themed creations have appeared here this year, the last being 17th Feb and before that the 8th Feb. You can find these by scrolling back through the posts or by using the search box. Further Febrovery creations may be featured before the month ends too.
That’s a very nice looking render! On this occasion we won’t be blogging it as it is a digital model (we prefer real bricks) and it’s also a self-request, however we are now following you on Flickr to see future builds : )
Dear TLCB team,
I have design or customize new supercar (Bugatti, Mustang,…) Lego Technic inspired from real models. You can found some of them on my website : http://moc-nemooz.com/
I know you don’t like self-submissions, but since it is quite hidden in the depths of the internet I wanted to focus your attention on my PhD thesis, for it’s design I have built and photographed several LEGO F1 scenes. It’s crossover; medical personnel working on an F1 car driven by a child with cancer (pediatric oncology thesis).
It’s not exactly cars, but you guys accept space stuff as well, so here are my MOCs of the racing starfighters from Star Wars: Resistance (one of them is literally a space Porsche 917K)
For your consideration: [Image Removed]
You collect amazing cars and vechiles on this blog. I know you discourage self-submission but I am a brand new and therefore relatively unknown builder. Could you let me know what do you think about my MOCs?
One of them is a studless, Speed Champions size Hypercar Concept inspired by Ferraries and other type of super sport cars, and the other one is a car trailer truck which can be combined with the first one. It is called Hybrid truck, because it is built on a DUPLO car base :).
Thanks for your message. Your models aren’t quite good enough to appear here yet but you’re on the right track (and they’re very well photographed too). We’re now following you on Flickr : )
Thanks for your suggestion! That’s a cool looking creation. It’s a bit old for us to blog it (2 months) but we’re now following the builder to watch for new builds : )
I have attached an image of my lack of speed champions drift car, it is based around the concept of what an American would do to build a drift car, emphasis on American because of the big engine sticking up out of the hood and the fact that it’s a Mustang
We no longer support Ideas Projects directly (otherwise all we’d do is post peoples’ requests!), however this creation is certainly good enough to blog : )
Do you know if the builder has published this to Flickr/MOCpages/Eurorbricks etc, as we’d love to feature it (and could then include a link to Ideas).
Digital builds are held to higher standards here than brick builds, and this is borderline, however it may appear depending upon what our Elves bring back.
Thanks for your message. That’s a great looking model! Sorry, we don’t accept self-requests, however our Elves are watching your builds and there is a strong chance you could see your work appear here : )
That’s an awesome looking model! Unfortunately it’s much too old for us to publish (plus we’re afraid we don’t accept direct requests to LEGO Ideas as otherwise it’s all we’d do!).
However if the builder was to upload some new images to somewhere other than Ideas (Flickr, MOCpages etc) this creation would definitely be featured, and its presence on LEGO Ideas could be mentioned.
It’s always good to hear from a bloggee! The Elves aren’t very good at writing so we’ll respond for them.
Thanks for your suggestion, we’ve taken a closer look; It appears to be a brilliant build, but with it being digital we need higher quality renders in order to use the images. Any chance you can ask the builder if they have them?
A bit of self-promotion here; I hope you don’t mind.
I have created my 1st 8-studs Lego Speed Champions model and am rather happy with the result
.
Please have a look at my Flick page (link below). I hope the design itself and the pictures quality can qualify my model for your great blog.
Thanks Little Elves and no problems – I completely understand.
Re. the stickers – I have tried to keep them to the bare minimum just to enhance slightly the front and back. I embraced the Speed champions spirit, but making it much less excessive in terms of labels (which I know can be a pain)
Anyway I have few more models of Italian cars in my pipeline (mock-up made and computer and parts ordered – very excited!!)
Looking forward for your next blogs and hopefully a few Speed Champs 8-studs models, if anything nice is coming your way (e.g. loved the recent Countach!)
This model is definitely blogable, but unfortunately we need an English-speaking link to be able to do so. Let us know if you think the builder may be willing to upload elsewhere.
That’s a cool build, but being digital we need top quality renders, as we very rarely blog digital builds. Should this creation be built from real LEGO bricks we will take another look.
We do not accept self requests, nor LEGO Ideas requests (otherwise it’s all we’d blog), however your creation was discovered by one of our Elves on Eurobricks and is scheduled to appear shortly : )
Thanks for your suggestions. We would like to blog the orange arctic truck if it is available on Flickr, MOCpages, Brickshelf, Eurobricks, ReBrickable etc. If so please let us know! this is so we know we are directing readers to safe, approved, free-to-access sites.
Hey, TLCB Elves,
I know you guys probably won’t blog this, as it’s a rather old creation. However, I have never seen this model before, and I am astounded, because it is undoubtedly the best Koenigsegg Agera I have ever seen. Even though it’s not likely to be blogged, I thought I’d bring it, and its creator, to your attention. Cheers! https://www.instagram.com/p/B9So9u2p5uM/
Thanks for your suggestion. The Elves can’t type (or read), so we’ll reply on their behalf.
That’s a stunning creation! We’d love to blog it, but it would need to be a available on a free-to-use platform that doesn’t require a log-in to view (so that out readers can see it too), e.g. Flickr, Brickshelf, Eurobricks, MOCpages, Bricksafe etc. Do you know if it’s available on one of these?
https://bricksafe.com/pages/kostq – here you can find all my lockdown C models and mods. Some qualify for the TLCB lockdown challenge so I hope you check them out 🙂
Hi TLCB Team! My friend Luca Rusconi (Roscopc) has done it again, this time with highly detailed midi scale Williams FW14B.There are also equally excellent classic F1 cars in this link below.
Thanks for your message. Whilst these don’t meet our criteria we still enjoyed seeing them! Small scale historic racing cars are something we thing would fit very well with your building style by the way!
You NEED to see this. Most likely the best Aventador I’ve ever seen. And not just in this ridiculously-small-for-the-amount-of-detail scale. Best. Period.
Looks good but rather realistic. Lots of parts on this digital Model are just attached to nothing. So works with a MOC but not with real bricks. A shame really…
Hello Eva
Thanks for your message
Yes, we’re Following your husband and we’ve blogged his work before. This model may appear here (in this case it will depend on what is in the queue) : )
All the best
TLCB Team
Thanks for your suggestion. As this is a render we won’t be featuring it (although the design is good). We do feature digital builds very occasionally, but only when the renders are so good it’s hard to tell.
I just saw you response to NinjaSeb regarding my Porsche 959 SC model
– Thanks Ninja for visiting my Flick page and recommending my models 🙂
I must admit, I am very surprised (and somehow disappointed) by your response to him, qualifying my model of not meeting the standard you have set for real-world inspired Lego models.
I know every judgment is subjective. However, I can’t stop thinking that this particular model is actually much more realistic that some published on your blog and benefiting as well of a much larger scale (hence easier to achieve greater accuracy in Lego)
Just a few recent examples to illustrate my thoughts:
– Bōsōzoku! – https://thelegocarblog.com/2020/12/20/bosozoku/
Sorry, but even with a lot of good will I cannot recognise a Skyline in this model at all
All I all I don’t want to sound sour, because I do think you do a brilliant job 99% of the time and I am a big fan your blog (surprising, witty and funny!)
I am also extremely grateful that you published some of my other SC creations in the past.
However, I am passionate about what I do and take great pride in my designs.
Trust me, I do not to publish any new models, unless I genuinely feel I have achieved the best possible accuracy.
Furthermore, my standards are extremely high and each of my creations take c.20-30h from the inception to the final design, due to my constant fine-tuning to achieve a greater degree of accuracy, balanced with an strong level of sturdiness (which so many MOCS out there don’t have due to their too fancy/intricate design, unfortunately…)
Regarding this 959, I was particularly pleased with my results and genuinely believed it was one of my best SC scale models.
I also tested it past several trusted (and critical) friends before publishing; all were unanimous and praised it highly.
So, if OK with you, I’d invite you to look again at my model and maybe provide a 2nd opinion.
I would also be grateful, if you could specifically indicate which part of the design you think should be improved, so that I can take the criticism constructively and fine-tune further.
Firstly, don’t worry if not all your models get blogged. Blogging, besides our Submission Guidelines of course, depends very much on the personal opinions of our writers, what other creations have been blogged recently, whether the builder has recently appeared already, and all manner of things.
Now, your Porsche 959; it is – in this writer’s opinion – a very good model, beautifully presented (as all your models are). The most recognisable parts of any vehicle is the front 3/4, which on your model – again, in this writer’s opinion only – looks a bit stretched, probably due to the small headlights. The rear 3/4 view is instantly recognisable though.
Of course all of that is just opinion, as demonstrated by the examples in your message. ‘Bōsōzoku!’ for example looks exactly as it should to these eyes, but it doesn’t to you. Likewise vehicles that are more technical in nature are judged differently to those that are purely aesthetic.
Lastly, please understand there is no obligation on TLCB Team to blog any model, however good it may be! Your work has appeared here many times (and we’re sure it will again!), and we very much respect your questioning of our logic, which won’t always be right!
the builder told me he is currently finishing details on a black version that will include stickers and other decorations. I will send you a link to these photos as soon as it is finished.
If high quality images are published we can definitely blog this creation : ) Real bricks are easier to blog than digital, where the rendering must be of exceptional quality.
This is a great looking and very well presented model! However it does feature a few non-Lego pieces (CADA), so on this occasion we won’t be blogging it.
Thanks for your suggestions! Both meet our criteria, but as both builders have featured here recently we may not blog them this time – although there might be room to squeeze one in… : )
Thanks TLCB!
…And apologies as I have just realised that the BMW M3 was made by the same designer who created the magnificent Miata featured in your blog earlier this week. Great M3 though and busy builder 🙂
Hi TLCB, Just to let you know, this is the same Chevrolet Blazer as in one of your previous blog: ‘Smarter than the Average Bear’. only the colour and accessories are different. Cheers AbFab74
Thanks for your suggestion. This looks good, probably borderline bloggable, but unfortunately it has a watermark in the middle of the image which rules it out.
The wheelbase could be 1 stud shorter, but with carefully chosen parts, he managed to achieve scale thickness rarely seen in this size.It makes other 911s at this scale look positively blocky in comparison.
Hi TLCB,
I have just received and a request from you to share pics from my latest creation (a McLaren F1).
I can only assume you are considering my creation for a coming blog.
Whilst I am extremely honoured, at the same time, I feel it is the right thing to point out to you another McLaren F1 model that coincidently was released the same day (!) by another creator and that you may find better than mine.
(I humbly feel his creation more accurate than my own one; which mean I will now work on further improvements, to meet the benchmark)
I spotted this nice looking Mc Laren Speedtail in Lego Speed Champions C 8-studs size. A nice SC MOC, whilst waiting for the official 2021 models (hopefully coming in a month time).
I found this builder on Flickr
He only does electronic builds, but some are fantastic.
I now you only very occasionally blog virtual models, but I thought you may like some of this builder’s models including this lovely Beetle convertible
[Image Removed]
Furthermore, I know you don’t like self-promotion at all and I am am a bit breaching the rule here – please accept my apologies in advance!
I have recently done a Vintage Mercedes 300SL in Speed Champions 8-studs style, which I think you could be interested in.
I haven’t put any links, but I think you have already access to my Flickr page – so if you have a few mins to spare, have a look and judge by yourself.
Thanks for your message. It’s always nice to hear from a previous bloggee too!
Your suggestion (digital) model is excellent, but being very obviously digital it won’t appear here. However Peter Blackert (aka Lego911) has appeared here before with his real builds, and we’ve even featured his book here too.
Your own Mercedes-Benz 300SL is a good model, as all of your builds are, although the images are probably a little ‘close’. However, we don’t accept self requests and moreover, sometimes we need a ‘story to tell’ when writing a post – we certainly don’t publicise every blog-worthy creation built, largely for this reason.
Rest assured you are ‘Followed’ by this site and we’re pretty sure you may appear here again : )
I love speed champs , and i passionate about MOC race cars too. Yesterday i found a nice looking race car and i think , i have to share it with you. It’s the Glickenhouse 007 race car from ReddishBlue. Please take a look on it.Thank’s very much 🙂 see ya
Classic Space is not dead!
Please help me get 10k supports so it will be an official Lego set.
This Lego Ideas project includes:
2800 pieces
all 9 different official color astronauts released, including the elusive light gray astronaut.
More than 15 different new trans yellow pieces.
Cargo transport, exploration rover, hover ship, lifter MECH, crane.
4 separated functional modules
Great play value, MODULAR Build, modern building techniques, 80s Nostalgia.
Ever wanted a Classic Space reboot? This is your chance to take part in it.
Thanks for your suggestion. This design looks fantastic!
However it is a digital creation, which we rarely blog, but if the design is particularly good (and this one is) digital builds can be featured.
In this case we’d need the images to be a bit less digital-looking (a higher quality render so the model looks as though it’s made from real bricks). Sometimes it can be hard to tell if a model is digital or real, which – basically – is what we want!
Let us know if the builder has such images available and if so it will appear here : )
Firstly – your regular email notifications are the best thing that ever hits my inbox, thanks for giving me something to look forward to each day!
Now I know that you don’t encourage self promotion but I thought that you might like to see my latest MOC that’s an alternate build of the Lamborghini Sian set.
It’s just gone live on Rebrickable and you’re the first place I’ve gone to after hitting publish.
We don’t encourage self-promotion, however if this model is also available on Flickr, Brickshelf, Eurobricks etc. and you’d like to drop us a hint, we’d definitely take a look!
So There is a designer who is building great alternatives from Supra set. Name is Ilyabuilder724. I think he is a little hidden gem. Maybe he is worthy to be posted here?
Sure – send us a link! Note that we prefer links to account-free sites such as Flickr, Brickshelf and Eurobricks, as Instagram etc. require people to sign-up in order to view the images hosted there, because they’re scumbags.
This creation does meet our criteria : ) However we may not blog this one as we have some new year posts awaiting, and GBrix has also appeared on TLCB recently, but if we have time it may fit it in.
Thanks for your suggestion. That’s a very nice looking model.
We don’t tend to publish things that are solely available on Rebrickable if the instructions are paid (free is another matter), as otherwise we just end up effectively advertising pay-per-download instructions for people. If this model is available elsewhere though, do let us know!
Thanks for your suggestion – what a fantastic creation!
We would like to blog this, however we don’t link directly to Lego Ideas as otherwise all we’d do is become an Ideas promotion platform (we receive a *lot* of Ideas requests!).
Do you know if this model is available on an account-free image hosting site, e.g. Flickr, Eurobricks, Bricksafe etc,?
The first, whilst a really excellent creation, is too old for us to post now.
The second meets our criteria (although the photos are bit shadowy – builders are always best advised to use natural lighting) and thus may appear here soon, depending on the schedule.
Thanks and do keep sending them in!

Greetings TLCB team,
Me and my son are big fans of LEGO + cars. We only discovered your blog recently and we both love it. What a fantastic work you are doing!!
To assist you a little bit with it, my son has spotted some really nice models from on a creator on Flickr.
Plenty of famous sport cars there and these are the 3 he likes the most:
These models seem to have been uploaded recently and we are wondering if they meet your blog selection criteria?
Thanks for your message! We’re glad to have you and your son here : )
Thanks for your suggestions. We have featured this builder (and these builds) before, but as many have been re-photographed and updated a roundup of several is coming. Perhaps we’ll use your three suggestions!
Thanks a lot for you quick reply and apologies, as we have only found now how to research previous blogs on the TLCB site.
You are right: the Ferrari F40 from this blogger was previously published here (albeit the new version looks rather different)
However we couldn’t find previous blogs on the 2 other models and the 2nd Ferrari looks like a brand new design on the Flickr account if this creator.
My son thinks these 2 models look terrific and the Lamborghini, in particular is the best from all the similar scale models of the same car he has seen around.
Anyway, I am happy to leave the decision to publish or not in your good hands
Whilst we are at it, here is another builder my son spotted this morning.
I know that self-request are not so welcomed by you, and maybe you have already posted too many Ferrari’s 🙂 as it is mentioned in the description of “Festival of Mundanity Competition”
Familiarity with the source material is not required, this is a mecha masterpiece that packs immense detail, has LED lights, and removeable armor plates to show off the inner frame. It is 1:35 scale, and stands 53 CM tall at the head.
Thanks for your suggestion, it looks great! However as it’s not in English (we’re an English language site) and published on Twitter, which often requires signing-up to view, we can’t blog it here.
If you know of this model’s existence on a free-to-access, English language site we can revisit it : )
We’ve ‘followed’ the builder and may publish the rendered versions, although the physical models do require higher quality images for us to feature them (maybe see if the builder is willing to sharpen these up a bit…?).
Thanks for your suggestion, we like the way you think! A similar creation by this builder was blogged a few weeks ago (https://thelegocarblog.com/2022/05/02/the-clamps/), but we might be able to fit this one in too : )

Hello Jon
Thanks for stopping by.

Peace!
Hello Noah
Thanks for your message and welcome to TLCB!
There is indeed a Search function! You can find it at the foot of every page (or top on some mobiles), plus you can use the tags under every blog post to look up other posts using the tag of your choosing.

Hello Rosie

We have missed that one – and it looks great! Unfortunately it’s too old for us to post here (we only blog creations or images uploaded in the last week or so), however we can make an exception if the idea is about to reach a milestone, regardless of its age. If the Ideas project is about to cross a supports no. and you need a help to push it over let us know!
All the best

Hello Alex
Thanks for stopping by.
Your suggestion meets our criteria, however we are rethinking the frequency with which we post vehicles smaller than mini-fig scale.
Vehicles such as this appear to be less liked by our audience than larger ones (according to our statistical analysis).
If you’re a reader and agree/disagree with this feel free to reply to Alex’s comment and let us know your thoughts.

Hi!
I saw this technical marvel on Youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEW2d0OKsAoLbWwCpYdflXA
It may lack a little aesthetically, but full tuneable suspension, an 8-speed auto gearbox and MINDSTORMS drive in a 1:10 car? I’ve finally found something that trumps the 8880!
Unfortunately, I haven’t managed to find this exact MOC anywhere else – seems like it’s only on Youtube.

I didn’t see it, sorry.
Renders? That’s dissappointing…
Many apologies: it turns out that the car is actually in real bricks. The Brothers Brick have blogged it, using better quality images from Flickr (MOCpages does horrible things to photos and displays at a poor resolution). The EXIF info in on the photos too. Hi TLCB!
I know you tend to shy away from virtual brick submissions but I feel that this masterpiece, which I spotted in Lego Ideas, is an exception.
https://ideas.lego.com/projects/168962
Reasons why:
1. It is beautiful
2. It is well done and cleverly designed
3. If enough people support it then it has a fighting chance of being made into a real Lego car that you can buy

Hope you will appreciate,
I.M.
Hello Ivy
Thanks for your suggestion. What a weird (yet good!) build! Probably a bit too weird and maybe a little untidy to be published here, but thanks for the bringing the builder to our attention, we’ll be watching them from now on!

Hi TLCB,
I manage a Youtube channel on which I share Lego train related videos. Another hobby of mine is mountaineering. I’ve combined these two hobbies by setting up a Lego train track high up in the mountains and made an awesome video of it!

Ferrari Flagship dealership (beautiful architecture, gorgeous iconic cars)
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438325
All the best

Hello Zero
Thanks for your suggestion. It’s a good well-presented build, however as the builder has titled the model as a replica of a real car they have set the bar a little too high for themselves to be blogged here, as real cars must meet a more exacting standard.

Hi little Elves,
This must be a pretty busy period for you, with Xmas approaching.
Chin up, you are doing a wonderful job!!
To help you in your quest for new Lego cars, I have attached the following MOC-Pages links to access Supermodels from the 80’s / early 90’s (Steady now – we are talking mechanics here!)
Here we go:
A Lambo Diablo:
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438342
A Bugatti EB110:
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438345
A Ferrari F40:
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438322
A Ferrari 288 GTO:
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438324
A Pug 205 T16 (You have already published the virtual model, but this is the real-brick one – So much nicer and playable!!)
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/438321
Just a small note: I am a bit ashamed, because I am the creator of these models and I should not promote myself really 🙁
But if you are willing to forgive me for this ‘small’ breach of rules and if you like my own Speed champs private collection, please don’t hesitate to publish them (That would make me and my 7 years son v. happy!!)
Cheers and All the Best in Winter Wonderland!!
Fabrice
Hello Fabrice
Thanks for your message, it’s always good to hear from a past bloggee! All of your models meet our quality standard (horay!), but all are too old to be blogged here, as we only post new content (plus we don’t accept self -requests).
However, if a new photo of all of your models together was to be uploaded, and an Elf was to find it, there’s a good chance of making another appearance…
Happy Christmas and we’ll continue to follow your builds : )
TLCB Team
Hi TLCB Elves,

Dear mighty Elves,
Here comes a Speed Champions Set that you might like.
(A Peugeot 205 T16 and a Lancia Delta S4 from the mighty WRC Group B from the 80’s)
http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/443677
One is call Klaus and the other one Rudy – You might know them well 🙂
Happy (anticipated) Christmas

Hello Nils

TLCB Team
Dear Little Elves,
Many thanks to you and Nils for your nice words and suggestions – I have uploaded some new pics of the tiny Pug 205 and its transalpine rival, the Lancia Delta.
Here is the link again, http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/443677
This time, I have opted for neutral beige background, because it works quite well with the white main colour of both models and, somehow, it does remind of the exciting dirt produced by a rally car in action.
I feel these pics are much better than the previous ones, but I am no photographic expert, unfortunately.
So, I leave to your wise judgment and look forward to any further feedback from you.
Cheers!
Fabrice
Perfect!
Hello Fabrice

And by the way: It’s Febrovery on Flickr and I haven’t seen a Rover on TLCB in a while…
Sorry, I didn’t mean to include the image, just the link…
Hello Nils
Thanks for your message! We have indeed, we’re waiting for the builder to post the complete suite of images and build details (which they normally do a short while after their ‘exclusive’ image from past experience) and then this model will be blogged.
‘Febrovery’ themed creations have appeared here this year, the last being 17th Feb and before that the 8th Feb. You can find these by scrolling back through the posts or by using the search box. Further Febrovery creations may be featured before the month ends too.

Dear TLCB team,
I know you don’t like self-submissions, but since it is quite hidden in the depths of the internet I wanted to focus your attention on my PhD thesis, for it’s design I have built and photographed several LEGO F1 scenes. It’s crossover; medical personnel working on an F1 car driven by a child with cancer (pediatric oncology thesis).
See thesis at: http://www.perfectpitstops.nl, example pictures at:

Hi,
You collect amazing cars and vechiles on this blog.
Keep up the great work team! Happy Easter!

Hello Angka
It’s always good to hear from a bloggee! The Elves aren’t very good at writing so we’ll respond for them.
Thanks for your suggestion, we’ve taken a closer look; It appears to be a brilliant build, but with it being digital we need higher quality renders in order to use the images. Any chance you can ask the builder if they have them?
Kind regards
TLCB Team
In the page’s description, he’s in the process of building the real thing.I guess we just have to wait and see.
Hello TLCB busy Elves,
A bit of self-promotion here; I hope you don’t mind.
I have created my 1st 8-studs Lego Speed Champions model and am rather happy with the result
.
Please have a look at my Flick page (link below). I hope the design itself and the pictures quality can qualify my model for your great blog.
Cheers and keep on the wonderful work!!

Hello Fabrice

However that is a very well presented model (although we would look for a build without sharpie / features defined by stickers if possible).
Kind regards
TLCB Team
Thanks Little Elves and no problems – I completely understand.
Re. the stickers – I have tried to keep them to the bare minimum just to enhance slightly the front and back. I embraced the Speed champions spirit, but making it much less excessive in terms of labels (which I know can be a pain)
Anyway I have few more models of Italian cars in my pipeline (mock-up made and computer and parts ordered – very excited!!)
Looking forward for your next blogs and hopefully a few Speed Champs 8-studs models, if anything nice is coming your way (e.g. loved the recent Countach!)

Hello Enrique
Thanks for your suggestion. As this is a render we won’t be featuring it (although the design is good). We do feature digital builds very occasionally, but only when the renders are so good it’s hard to tell.

Hello Ninja
Thanks for you suggestion.
Whilst good model, when a model is a replica of a real-world vehicle we set the standard a little higher, so this one isn’t quite blog-worthy.
It’s close though!

Hi TLCB Team,
I just saw you response to NinjaSeb regarding my Porsche 959 SC model
– Thanks Ninja for visiting my Flick page and recommending my models 🙂
I must admit, I am very surprised (and somehow disappointed) by your response to him, qualifying my model of not meeting the standard you have set for real-world inspired Lego models.
I know every judgment is subjective. However, I can’t stop thinking that this particular model is actually much more realistic that some published on your blog and benefiting as well of a much larger scale (hence easier to achieve greater accuracy in Lego)
Just a few recent examples to illustrate my thoughts:
– Bōsōzoku! –
https://thelegocarblog.com/2020/12/20/bosozoku/
Sorry, but even with a lot of good will I cannot recognise a Skyline in this model at all
– Windy Rear
https://thelegocarblog.com/2020/12/16/windy-rear/
This car does not look like a Scirocco, sorry – it has more Lada front end and a 80’s Supra back end in my opinion
-Brick Built Bimmer
https://thelegocarblog.com/2020/11/23/brick-built-bimmer/
I genuinely thought this was a Renault Megane from the 2000’s, when I saw the first pics – I only realised it was a BMW when I read the blog…
Many thanks in advance,
Fabrice
Hello Fabrice
Thanks for your comprehensive message!
All the best
TLCB Team
Many thanks LCTB Team,

Serge Vanschoenwinkel (rastacoco on rebrickable.com) created this amazing Lamborghini Countach. I made some photos at https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-57851/Rastacoco/lamborghini-countach-lp5000-qv-red-version/#photos

Hi TLCB,
I have just received and a request from you to share pics from my latest creation (a McLaren F1).
Here it is, for you to judge.

I have recently done a Vintage Mercedes 300SL in Speed Champions 8-studs style, which I think you could be interested in.
I haven’t put any links, but I think you have already access to my Flickr page – so if you have a few mins to spare, have a look and judge by yourself.
Cheers and carry on your brilliant blog work
Fabrice
Hello Fabrice

Hello Brickverse
Thanks for your suggestion. This design looks fantastic!
However it is a digital creation, which we rarely blog, but if the design is particularly good (and this one is) digital builds can be featured.
In this case we’d need the images to be a bit less digital-looking (a higher quality render so the model looks as though it’s made from real bricks). Sometimes it can be hard to tell if a model is digital or real, which – basically – is what we want!
Let us know if the builder has such images available and if so it will appear here : )

Dear TLCB,
Thanks a lot for you quick reply and apologies, as we have only found now how to research previous blogs on the TLCB site.

Just don’t crash them….much.
Hello Angka
Thanks for your suggestion, these look great!
We’ve ‘followed’ the builder and may publish the rendered versions, although the physical models do require higher quality images for us to feature them (maybe see if the builder is willing to sharpen these up a bit…?).
Kind regards

Hello Angka
Thanks for your suggestion, we like the way you think! A similar creation by this builder was blogged a few weeks ago (https://thelegocarblog.com/2022/05/02/the-clamps/), but we might be able to fit this one in too : )
Kind regards
TLCB Team
