We like giant yellow diggers here at The Lego Car Blog. Because we’re six. Luckily for us one of the Elves found this one, a 20-ton Komatsu PC200, as replicated in brick-form beautifully by previous bloggee Y Akimeshi. With a posable arm and bucket, slewing superstructure, and a mound of brick-built earth to dig, Y’s creation is one of our favourites so far, and there’s more of the model to see at their photostream. Nothing makes our smelly little workers happier than flattening one another with a remote control find. Cue much excitement from the Elf that found this enormous fully remote controlled Komatsu WD900-3 wheel dozer as it entered TLCB Towers, high on the expectation that it could smush any number of its colleagues into the office carpet.
Fortunately for us, that number was zero, seeing as Beat Felber‘s 1:28.5 scale replica of the 100-ton dozer is much too slow to catch any of them. But whilst it is indeed slow, it’s also incredible, with remotely operable all-wheel-drive, articulated linear-actuator controlled steering, a fully adjustable blade positionable via three pneumatic cylinders, each equipped with their own Servo-actuated valve, and an on-board pneumatic compressor.
That enormous blade can lift, lower, pitch fore and aft, and tilt left to right courtesy of the compressor, valves and pneumatic cylinders, all of which can be controlled remotely via bluetooth thanks to two third-party SBricks and an on-board rechargeable Power functions battery.

Mining trucks are slow. But even slower are the tracked vehicles that fill them, designed as they are to move very heavy things very short distances.
Which means if you need to relocate an enormous bulldozer or tracked excavator to the other end of the mine, you’d better clear your schedule for the next few weeks.
Which is where this curious machine comes in. Effectively a Komatsu mining truck with a gooseneck hitch in place of the dump body, it can tow the aforementioned mining machines to their new location aboard a specially-designed single-axle TowHaul Lowboy trailer, capable of transporting 250 tons. We bet parking isn’t fun.
This spectacular fully remote controlled recreation of the world’s biggest vehicular trailer comes from previous bloggee Beat Felber, whose converted Komatsu HD785-5 mining truck features motorised drive, steering, and gooseneck hitch, enabling the model to load and tow a huge TowHaul Lowboy trailer and its Komatsu D575A-3 ‘Super Dozer’ load.

We like big yellow bulldozers here at The Lego Car Blog. Because we’re eight. This one is a Komatsu D65EX-18, as built (superbly) by Flickr’s Y Akimeshi in mini-figure scale. Clever techniques and top quality presentation are evident throughout, and there’re more to see via the link above if you’re eight too.
This TLCB Writer was having a peaceful day scrolling through the delightfully tedious entries our Festival of Mundanity competition in collaboration with BrickNerd. There’s a bar of soap, a rental car lot, a white Toyota Corolla… and the sound of Elven screaming. Sigh.
A wearisome trudge to the corridor revealed the culprit, and the vehicle under their jurisdiction; this huge BuWizz-powered Komatsu HM300 6×6 articulated dump truck.
Discovered on Brickshelf by the jubilant Elf at the controls, gkurkowski‘s creation had churned several of our smelly little workers into the carpet, before – admittedly rather cleverly – deploying the linear actuator controlled tipper to dump a load of glitter on them. How it got into the stationary cupboard we’re not sure. And why is there even glitter in there anyway?
Whatever the reasons, the result is a very sparkly mess, which this writer now has the pleasure of tidying up.

This is a Komatsu D575A-3 ‘Super Dozer’, and it weighs 150 tons. Well, this one doesn’t, being rather smaller and slightly more plastic, but it’s still really impressive.
Built by Beat Felber of Flickr, this incredible creation shrinks the giant Komatsu down to 1:28.5 scale, yet retains much of the super dozers awesome functionality.
Powered by two SBricks, Beat’s model can be controlled and programmed via bluetooth, with adder/subtractor crawler drive allowing the model to drive and steer courtesy of an XL Motor providing forwarded propulsion and an L Motor powering the steering mechanism.
Pneumatics also feature, with air pressure built on-board by an L Motor with an automatic cut-off, and two pneumatic valves – each controlled by a Servo Motor – controlling both the lifting and tilting of the blade. Lastly lighting is taken care of via four pairs of Power Functions LEDs.

This big yellow box is a Komatsu 3000, which sounds like a robot from the Terminator movie franchise. It is in fact a 19ft wide, 1260bhp bucket excavator, with a top speed of 1.5mph. One point five! This fully remote controlled Lego version of the Komatsu 3000 is even slower, and thus can cause no carnage in the office today, much to the disappointment of the Elf that discovered it. It is still worth a look though, as it’s one of the most impressive RC creations we’ve seen in some time. Ayumi is the builder behind it and there’s more to see on Brickshelf here.
This Komatsu PC210LL-10 loves munching on wood.* With a 365 harvester head it can strip a tree of its branches in seconds, enabling the trunk to be neatly stacked on the back of a waiting truck. Flickr’s Mathijs Bongers is the builder and he’s replicated the tracked forest harvester brilliantly in mini-figure scale. See more on Flickr via the link.
Mini-figure machines don’t appear here that often, but if done well Town-scale creations can be a match for creations several times their size. Our Elves found two great examples of top quality mini-figure models on Flickr today. The yellow machine is keko007‘s JCB telehandler, whilst the elaborate red contraption is Mathijs Bongers Komatsu forester. See more of each via on Flickr the links above.
We could put this Komatsu 951 by LegoMathijs to good use in the Elves’ cage room – there are quite a lot of logs to pick up at times. Still, that’s what the office interns are for. There’s more to see of this unusual creation at the link above.
This enormous wheel loader was discovered by a member of our Elvish workforce on MOCpages. It’s been built by newcomer Dave MacLeod, and it’s his first creation to be uploaded to the site. This highly detailed model is – almost unbelievably – mini-figure scale, being based on the Komatsu WA1200, the largest loader in the world. It’s therefore a bit big for most Town layouts, being larger than even many of LEGO’s modular buildings, but what a way for a mini-figure to ride around Town! This strange looking contraption is a Komatsu 895 harvester, and it’s been built (beautifully we might add) by newcomer LegoMathijs. His recreation of the giant Japanese forwarder features a detailed telescopic boom, cabin and engine, and working suspension with central pivot. Our smelly little workforce has a history with remotely controlled construction machinery. It has in the past been used by individual Elves to exact revenge on colleagues, pre-emptively attack colleagues, and smush other colleagues into the carpet for – as the kids would say, ‘lols‘.
Today’s calm was shattered by the arrival of the creation above, a huge remote controlled Komatsu WA 600 wheeled loader by MOCpages’ Jorge Garcia. And then things got much worse.
Another Elf, successful after a day’s MOC hunting, returned with the MOC below, Limitless Bricks‘ (previously Ultimate Design Bricks) remote controlled Liebherr LR 634 tracked loader, and thus a sort of Lego Robot Wars ensued.
Things are mostly back to normal now, and the two creations have been placed in the care of TLCB office – much to the annoyance of the Elves. Still, we wouldn’t dream of using such brilliant machines in a battle to the death. But nevertheless we do have a very busy afternoon of remote controlled ‘evaluation’ planned, so we’ll sign off now…
This massive earthmover is described as a “Super Dozer” on its manufacturers website. The real-life version has a giant, 90 cubic yard blade, enough to carry all of the TLCB Elves and a few of their friends. Jorge Garcia’s Lego version is no less impressive. This yellow Technic monster contains 5 motors, a linear actuator and a plethora of pneumatics to make its functions work. All of this is covered with a realistic version of the D575’s bodywork and travels on some brilliant custom-built tracks, based on a design by mahjqa.
