Ads. They’re everywhere. On television. On radio. On buses. On your phone. In trains. On billboards. And, thanks to BMW, now even in your car. But not in the middle of a TLCB post. As much as we can help it anyway.
Yes we recently turned in-post ads off, because the extra coin matters less to us than reader experience, particularly when some ads were covering text and it could say something important. Like a ‘Your Mom’ joke.
Whilst adverts will still appear in the side bars and also stick the pages edges, making this change has approximately halved our revenue, which does mean our charitable donations could look a little marginal once the costs of running the site are covered. So if you like what we do and would like to help us to keep giving, you can. We’d love it if all the advertising revenue that this site does earn could be donated to good causes, with the site’s operational costs covered elsewhere (which – due to us working for free and the Elves only being paid in Smarties – are pretty low). If you feel like it, you can help below.
Thank you
TLCB Team
We do appreciate the irony of this post communicating a reduction in ads whilst simultaneously, itself, being an ad….

I think that’s good decision. I removed ads from my LEGO blog too. Like 1 year ago. They were… annoying, as every ads. Destroying user experience. I started selling LEGO instructions for few bucks and it is much better for covering costs of running website.
Anyway keep up the good work! Not many LEGO blogs still alive. They are dying like the forum boards. Don’t stop posting! 🙂
Cheers,
Kalais
Thanks Kalais, your kind words are very much appreciated.
More power to your blog – we’re on our way there now to check it out.
Kind regards
