After years of vehicular misery the French auto industry is finally re-finding its mojo. Back in the mid-’90s though, Renault couldn’t stop making hits. One was this, the wonderful Twingo, which – unlike every other ’90s city car – has come an enduring icon. So much so Renault are bringing it back as an EV, but it’s the little sub-800kg (1,700lb) 1.1 litre original we lust after.
