Creations for Charity 2013

Lego Creations for Charity 2013

Creations for Charity 2013 is here!

Creations for Charity – a superb charitable event that raises money to buy LEGO sets for underprivileged children – is upon us for 2013. It’s a fantastic cause, as with many charities, but it’s how Creations for Charity raises funds that sets it apart. Money is raised to purchase the toys via the donation and sale of custom LEGO creations, built by some of the best LEGO builders around (some of which have featured right here on TLCB).

All the proceeds go to purchasing LEGO sets for needy children, which are then distributed throughout the U.S and other countries, children who otherwise would not get anything to play with this Christmas. LEGO is the perfect toy too, as it can be played with for years without breaking, without batteries, and has no age, mental or physical limitations.

Get involved!

You can help this amazing initiative in a number of ways; by publicising Creations for Charity, donating a creation, or bidding on one of the awesome creations available in the auction.

To find out more on how to participate please visit Creations for Charity 2013 here.

If you’d like to donate a creation the deadline for signing up is the 15th November. All the details of how to donate, bid and buy can be found at the link above, and we’ll bring you some of the best vehicle-related creations submitted to the auction here on The Lego Car Blog in the coming weeks.

Bricklink Sold

Bricklink LogoBricklink.com (or ‘Cracklink’ as some call it, such is its addictiveness) is an invaluable online resource allowing fans to buy and sell individual LEGO pieces. Sadly its founder, Daniel Jezek, passed away tragically young a few years ago, and since then the site has been run by his family.

In a recent statement, Daniel’s family have announced the sale of Bricklink to online game entrepreneur Jung-Ju ‘Jay’ Kim, who plans to invest in enhanced security and a site modernisation programme. The full announcement is pretty dry so we haven’t posted it here, however you can read it in full, and find links to the parties involved, at The Brothers Brick.

Creations for Charity 2012

Every year Creations for Charity invite you to help raise money to provide LEGO toys for children in need around the world. This wonderful annual event gives you the chance to buy custom LEGO MOCs from some of the most talented builders in the LEGO Community. You’ll become the owner of a unique and brilliant creation, and all proceeds are used to bring happiness and joy, in the form of our favourite toy, to children who otherwise would not get anything to play with this Christmas. LEGO is the perfect toy for such children as it can be played with for years without breaking, without needing batteries, and without age limits or gender associations.

You can participate in two ways; by bidding for a unique MOC, or by donating a MOC to Creations for Charity yourself. The Lego Car Blog wish Creations for Charity every success with this year’s fundraiser.
