Creations for Charity 2022

Creations for Charity 2022 is Here!

It’s been a weird few years. COVID, war, spiralling energy prices, and the brink of global recession. All of that lot means we’re probably going to see a rise in poverty in the coming months, with children often feeling its effects greatest. But you can help.

Creations for Charity has provided thousands of LEGO toys to children in need, funded via the sale of creations designed and built by members of the Lego Community. Thus you can purchase an incredible one-off Lego creation, and know that all of the proceeds are going straight to children to whom they will make the biggest difference. Which is awesome.

How to Help

You can join the Creations for Charity 2022 fundraiser in several ways; by donating a creation to the Creations for Charity store, by buying a creation, or by giving a monetary donation. All three methods will result in LEGO sets being provided to underprivileged children – it might be the only toy they get, so let’s make it the best toy there is!

You can take a look at the creations already donated to the Creations for Charity store by clicking the link below, with more models to be added over the coming weeks. You could even donate your own!

In the midst of so much global turmoil, do something amazing this year, and you could change a child’s life.

Creations for Charity 2021

The world is a tumultuous place at the moment. The dumpster fire that was 2020 has continued to rage throughout 2021, and – unless COP26 achieves something meaningful this week – 2021 might be as good as it’s going to get.

But really, if you’re reading this, things are probably alright. We’re the lucky ones, and we all have the joyous privilege of being able to redistribute some of our wealth to those to whom it would be worth far more. Even better, we can do it via our favourite plastic bricks…

Creations for Charity 2021

Now in its thirteenth year, the wonderful Creations for Charity initiative has provided thousands of LEGO toys to children in need, funded via the sale of creations designed and built by members of the community. Which means that you can buy an incredible one-off Lego creation knowing that all of the proceeds are going straight to children to whom they will make the biggest difference. How awesome is that!

Get Involved

Creations for Charity 2020

It’s Creations for Charity 2020!

2020 has sucked. Wildfires, terrorism, divisive politics, and a global pandemic that’s claimed over a million lives, it’s been a year to forget for many. However for some children, 2020 isn’t really any different to any other, with every year a struggle due to poverty, family breakdown, and domestic violence.

Creations for Charity, the wonderful annual event that provides thousands of LEGO toys to underprivileged children is back for 2020! Donated by members of the Lego Community, the Creations for Charity online store contains a wide variety of mini-figures, models, and building instructions, the sale of which raises money to purchase LEGO sets for children in need around the world. Which is thoroughly awesome.

Get Involved!

You can join the incredible Creations for Charity initiative in three ways; by donating a creation, by donating cash, or by buying the creations, building instructions, or mini-figures available via the online store.

To take a look at the creations, instructions, and mini-figures available for purchase, to donate your own, or to support the charity by a monetary gift, take a look at the new Creations for Charity website by clicking here.

Lastly, remember by visiting this dilapidated corner of the internet (The Lego Car Blog, not Creations for Charity), that you are helping to do good around the world, as all of the advertising revenue received through your clicks and views here at TLCB is donated to those who need it more than we do. Buy This Pagani Huayra!

We get asked a few particular questions more than any others here at The Lego Car Blog. ‘Will you blog my [insert creation]?’ (no), ‘Can I have instructions?’ (probably not), and ‘Where can I buy this?’.

As we’re here to publicise people’s own builds, the answer is usually ‘sorry, you can’t’. But not today, because you really can buy this one.

This incredible car is a Pagani Huayra, as featured here a few weeks ago. It was designed by Technic-building legend Jeroen Ottens as a gift to another builder, an amazing man by the name of Grum64.

Mr. Grum was involved in a motorcycle accident aged 19 in which he broke his neck, paralysing him from the chest down. Despite having no hand movement Grum builds with LEGO, using his teeth to construct sets over the course of many weeks which is – to all of us here at TLCB – a simply mind-blowing achievement.

Grum decided that rather than accepting Jeroen’s spectacular model for himself, that they would auction it for charity – in particular the amazing charity Fairy Bricks which provides LEGO sets to sick children in hospital and hospices. In fact Fairy Bricks provide around £5,000-worth of LEGO every single month to brighten the lives of children who may feel a very long way from home.

From April 19th Jeroen’s beautiful Pagani Huayra Technic Supercar will be listed on the auction site catawiki, where you can bid to own this stunning one-off creation (which features an 8-speed sequential gearbox, all-wheel cantilevered suspension, steering, active aero, a V12 engine, custom chrome and much, much more).

Not only that but Pagani have donated two huge Huayra computer blueprint drawings signed by Horacio Pagani himself to the auction, so the winning bid will receive a piece of hypercar history as well as one of the finest Technic Supercars ever built.

You can read full details of the build (and the story behind it) and Jeroen’s website, and you can see our original post of his superb Pagani Huayra by clicking here.

The Catawiki auction for Fairy Bricks commences on April 19th and remains open until April 24th, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Fairy Bricks Charity.

Purchase a Pagani

Lego Technic Pagani Huayra

This is a Pagani Huayra, one of the fastest, most aerodynamically clever, exclusive and expensive cars ever to reach production. Unobtainable then, but not this one. This is Jeroen Ottens’ incredible Technic recreation of the Pagani hypercar, and you could own it as the model is due to be auctioned for charity.

With working cantilever suspension, gull-wing doors, steering, an eight-speed sequential gearbox, highly detailed V12 engine, and even the Huayra’s active aerodynamics, Jeroen’s Technic Supercar is one of the most technically advanced yet. Just like the real car.

There are more images to see at Jeroen’s Pagani Huayra Flickr album by clicking here, where you can also find details on the charity action date and a link to the complete build specs.

Counting Cars with Crowkillers

Lego Crowkillers Count's Kustoms

The Lego Car Blog favourite Crowkillers is back, and this time he’s not working alone – but he hasn’t teamed up with another builder as you might expect. Instead Crowkillers has collaborated with the legendary Count’s Kustoms hot rod shop from the History Channel’s ‘Counting Cars’ TV show in order to create a pair of unique creations.

Above viewers of the show will recognise Count’s 1956 Chevrolet truck, complete with custom flame decals, whilst below is a model that some of our readers may recognise from a previous post.

Based on his ‘Assassin’ Technic Supercar, Crowkiller’s latest creation has been custom-painted by Count’s Kustoms’ own Ryan Evans and you can own it!

This amazing one-off Technic Supercar is being auctioned for charity to raise money for a little boy with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, and it also includes two customised mini-figures from the TV show. You can read more about the model via Eurobricks, and if you’d like to see more of this unique collaboration and bid for your chance to own it you can do so by clicking on the giant letters below.

Lego Creations for Charity 2013

Creations for Charity 2013 is here!

Creations for Charity – a superb charitable event that raises money to buy LEGO sets for underprivileged children – is upon us for 2013. It’s a fantastic cause, as with many charities, but it’s how Creations for Charity raises funds that sets it apart. Money is raised to purchase the toys via the donation and sale of custom LEGO creations, built by some of the best LEGO builders around (some of which have featured right here on TLCB).

All the proceeds go to purchasing LEGO sets for needy children, which are then distributed throughout the U.S and other countries, children who otherwise would not get anything to play with this Christmas. LEGO is the perfect toy too, as it can be played with for years without breaking, without batteries, and has no age, mental or physical limitations.

Get involved!

You can help this amazing initiative in a number of ways; by publicising Creations for Charity, donating a creation, or bidding on one of the awesome creations available in the auction.
