MANions

Today’s post is a Minion-coloured MAN with a mobile banana lab. Because shut up, that’s why.

The highest grossing animated movie franchise of all time, the Minions certainly have the resources, if not the intellect, for a giant mobile banana research centre. But seeing as mankind has genuinely conducted studies to determine that ‘Electric Fans have a Beneficial Effect in Extreme Heat’, ‘All Mammals above 3kg in Weight Empty their Bladders in Between 8 and 34 Seconds’, and – our favourite – ‘People Would be Able to Run Across a Pond if it was on the Moon and They were Wearing Flippers’, who are we to argue with the Minions’ choice of research?

Flickr’s Stefan is the unseen supervillain in command of this arrangement, and there’s more of his MANion to see at his photostream. Click the link above take a look, or here to learn that, shockingly, ‘People Adjust their Clothing Choices Depending Upon the Temperature‘. Thanks Scientists.

Mighty Minion

Minions is another new LEGO theme we don’t really understand, but one we’re sure will sell rather well. Ah, we think we understand…

Looking like some sort of cute War of the Worlds alternative reality, previous bloggee ianying616 has built the Minions their very own mech, complete with googly eyes and a mini-figure Minion sitting inside the domed head. And if you’re thinking “They’re really stretching TLCB’s brief with this one…”, you’re right – so here’s a Minion racing team too!

Head to ianying’s photostream via the link above for more Minions-based madness.

Despicable Motoring

Lego Despicable Me Gru Car

Ah Despicable Me, everyone’s favourite evil-villain-based computer-animated movie, including ours.

Unfortunately though, the film has been hi-jacked. Hi-jacked by the sort of people that feel the need to post what they’re having for breakfast on social media. Or to let everyone know that they really love their cat. Or – and we really can’t stress enough how awful these people are with this last example – sharing pictures of Despicable Me Minions with sycophantic phrases that have nothing to do with what the Minions in the picture are doing. At all.

‘Share if you love your best friend!’ Picture of a Minion. ‘I’m not fat, I just have airbags because I’m precious.’ Picture of a Minion. ‘Men have PMS too. Piss and Moan Syndrome!’ Picture of a Minion. It’s a cancer on the internet, and it needs to be stopped. And breathe.

Anyway, to offer some counterbalance to all the Minion related gibberish being produced by those with an IQ deficiency, here’s a Despicable Me post that doesn’t feature a picture a Minion. What it does feature is Gru’s rather magnificent rocket car, reproduced brilliantly in Lego form by Flickr’s -derjoe- and photographed by Peter Schmid.

There’s more to see at Peter’s photostream via the link above, plus you can build your own version as Peter has done courtesy of -derjoe-‘s book, which is available via Amazon.de here.

Lego CL4P-TP Robot

Flickr’s Simon Liu is the builder behind this utterly brilliant recreation of the CL4P-TP robot from Borderlands 2, which in hindsight looks uncannily like a robotic Minion. It’s a remarkable build that’s well worth a closer look – click these words to jump to Simon’s photostream where you can show your appreciation.
