Tiny Tanker

One of our Elves is rather grumpy today. You see, despite finding a blogworthy creation (and therefore getting fed), our mythical workers also hope to find something remotely controlled, and large and fast enough to flatten as many fellow Elves as possible. Today’s creation is, well… not that.

But it is – amazingly – remote controlled, thanks to tiny Circuit Cube electrics hidden within the cab. Just seven studs wide, this neat MAN TGX tanker truck by previous bloggee Ts_ can remotely drive and steer, and even the trailer has mechanically operable support legs too.

Thus whilst it can’t squash a TLCB Elf (much to the annoyance of the one that found it) it is a thoroughly intriguing creation nonetheless, and you can see how it all works at the Eurobricks forum via the link above.

Double Dutch

We’re trucking across the Netherlands today, thanks to two brilliant brick-built Dutch trucks. Well, one’s German, but it’s in use by a Dutch building materials company, so it still counts.

The first (above) is the work of serial bloggee Arian Janssens, and is a lovely classic DAF FA 3300 ATI with a matching drawbar trailer in tow. Working steering, openable load areas, and beautiful detailing all feature, and you can see more of Arian’s DAF via the link above.

Our second Dutch truck (below) is a 2010s MAN TGX, also outfitted with a three-axle trailer, plus a crane, a superbly replicated livery, and a suite of remote control motors to bring it to life. Flickr’s z_onno is its maker and you can see all the images of this excellent modern-day MAN via the link in the text above.

“How many wheels would you like your truck to have sir?” “…All of them.”

Flickr’s Ralph Savelsberg has taken a similar approach to your Mom at the all-you-can-eat buffet with his wheel quantity, with over two-dozen present on his Allelys heavy haulage MAN TGX.

There’s more to see at his Flickr album (along with the MAN’s counterpart Mercedes-Benz Arocs that appeared here a few months ago), where a ginormous load is surely soon to appear too. And if you made another ‘Your Mom’ joke there, that one’s on you.

MANions

Today’s post is a Minion-coloured MAN with a mobile banana lab. Because shut up, that’s why.

The highest grossing animated movie franchise of all time, the Minions certainly have the resources, if not the intellect, for a giant mobile banana research centre. But seeing as mankind has genuinely conducted studies to determine that ‘Electric Fans have a Beneficial Effect in Extreme Heat’, ‘All Mammals above 3kg in Weight Empty their Bladders in Between 8 and 34 Seconds’, and – our favourite – ‘People Would be Able to Run Across a Pond if it was on the Moon and They were Wearing Flippers’, who are we to argue with the Minions’ choice of research?

This is a Siemens E-House, a prefabricated electrical substation used for power distribution, pictured here sitting atop an incredible previously-blogged MAN TGX truck and 10-axle Broshuis trailer, as built by TLCB Master MOCer Dennis Bosman.

Dennis recently started work for Siemens after an absence of fifteen years, and created this amazing load for his ‘Van der Vlist’ liveried heavy-haulage truck, and his Siemens colleagues.

Lego MAN TGX Van der Vlist Truck

This is Dennis Bosman’s ‘Mystery Box’, and – unlike your Mom – he hasn’t published a single picture of what’s inside it on the internet. Evidence from Area 51? Kim Jong Un’s nukes? A copy of the final season of Game of Thrones? Whatever’s in there Dennis’s box is chained to an enormous ten axle Broshuis trailer pulled by a MAN TGX of unbelievable detail.

The MAN truck wears the livery of ‘Van der Vlist’ courtesy of superb custom decals, and rides – like the trailer – on non-Lego metal wheels. Underneath the spectacularly detailed tilting cab is a working 6-cylinder piston engine and a full remote control drivetrain, operable via bluetooth thanks to a third-party SBrick.

The axles of the huge Broshuis trailer steer too, with four Servo Motors providing the power, with each axle’s wheels turning at a different ratio. Lego MAN TGX Tow Truck

Heavy duty tow trucks such as this huge MAN TGX spend most of their time at the side of the road waiting for a trucker in need*. This brilliant Model Team TGX wrecker is an updated build by previous bloggee Nanko Klein Paste, and it’s packed with detail inside and out, with everything that a stricken truck could require. There’s also twin-axle working steering, multiple opening compartments and a working under-lift too. There’s lots more to see on Flickr – click the link above to call for a tow.

Lego MAN TGX Truck

…whatta man, whatta man, whatta man, what a mighty good man. Sorry about that. Anyhoo, this is a mighty good MAN, built by Beat Felber of Flickr, and featuring remotely controlled 8×6 drive, steering on the first and second axles, motorised trailer coupling, working headlights and warning beacons, opening doors and hood, and a pneumatically tilting cab.
