It’s in the bag

Lego Submarine

We all live in a yellow submarine…

This post stretches our blog title beyond its intended scope somewhat, but it’s worth it today for the brilliance of this MOC. But was is it?

It might look like a yellow box with a bag stuffed inside it, but it’s actually a fully operational submersible vehicle. Builder tke1 has used all-Lego parts (save for the bag) to create this masterpiece, utilising magnets to transfer motion through the bag to the propellers in the water.

Lego submarine

…A yellow submarine, a yellow submarine.

Polecat

Caterpillar 963 D

D for Detail

Ah, aren’t we clever with our nationality-based titles! Tenuous link aside, this MOC is exactly what a detailed Model Team creation should be; beautifully built, superbly detailed and incredibly accurate. And on top of this it’s fully RC with Lego’s Power Functions motors hidden inside by witchcraft and magic. Makorol (is he a fish?), part of the Polish ‘LUGPol’ group, is the builder, and you can find the full gallery on Brickshelf.

Russian Arms

Surface to Air Missle Launcher

SA-4 / 2K11 Krug Surface-to-Air Missile Launcher

And now for a more serious post. This incredible MOC is a Cold War era Russian 2K11 Krug Surface-to-Air missile launcher, built by D-Town Cracka on Flickr. We’ll let you form your own opinion on its brilliance and instead use this space to highlight the current plight of Syrian Refugees, fleeing to the Turkish border from the brutal crackdown of a tyrant.

The stories from the refugee camps in Iraq and Turkey include tales of brutality, shootings and land mines, and from our own press, the news that Syria is using its Russian-supplied arms against a Turkish border that’s providing shelter for over 30,000 refugees, including the shooting of a Turkish F4 Phantom by a Russian Surface-to-Air missile system.

Yee haw!

50s Yuk

Delightfully disgusting

Our Elves are gross little creatures. They do a good job (or at least a very cheap job), but they’re still gross. Which is why the Elf that brought this in to The Lego Car Blog Towers was so pleased with itself; finally a car for them! Small, green and a bit yukky. Henrik Hoexbroe is the genius(?) behind this late ’50s slice of American automotive garbage.
