Black Friday | Nothing to See Here

Black Friday

Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Halloween, Valentines Day are – these days – all thinly-veiled temples to consumerism.

However the worst of all of them doesn’t even try to hide its intentions behind a pretext. Black Friday, where spending eclipses the annual GDPs of 50% of the world’s countries and leaves one in four Americans in debt, is upon us once more, and – as is usual – we will not be partaking.

If you fancy joining us in abstaining from the annual greedpocalypse there are some wonderful alternatives available;

Creations for Charity

Buy a one-of-a-kind Lego creation, with all of the proceeds used to buy LEGO sets for underprivileged children who might get nothing else this Christmas.

Red CrossTearfundChristian Aid

Fantastic charities working every day to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice around the world. Visit their appeals, and change a life.

Last (and very much least), the ad revenue generated by your visit here at The Lego Car Blog is given to those who need it more than we do. If you like the look of a product or service in an ad you see here, please do give it a click, and if you like what we do here at TLCB, then please consider sharing us. The more eyeballs the ads get, the more money you raise for us to give.

Thank you

The Worst Day of the Year

Black Friday

The annual day of ‘discounts’ (in actuality only mass marketing) is once again here to inflict greed, violence and wasteful consumerism on the soulless masses.

As is customary, here at The Lego Car Blog we will not be taking part in the day of materialist misery (which now stretches to a week or more) that leaves one in four Americans in debt, whilst surpassing the annual GDP of around half the world’s countries (and that’s just the spend within the U.S and our home nation).

Therefore you won’t find a round-up of the best Black Friday brick-based ‘discounts’ here, but we do have some alternatives that will help you to preserve your soul, and perhaps add something back to counter a day that is built around taking.

Creations for Charity – Buy an amazing one-of-a-kind Lego creation, with all proceeds used to buy LEGO sets for children in need. If you’ve ever commented “Is this for Sale?” on a post here at The Lego Car Blog, maybe it is!

Unicef Market – The United Nations Childrens Fund, providing developmental and humanitarian aid to children worldwide. Buying your Christmas gifts here will help to save and transform some of the youngest lives in the world’s poorest nations.

Red CrossTearfundChristian Aid – Fantastic charities working every day to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice.

Finally, the revenue generated via the advertisements that appear on this site (even the Black Friday ones) is also used to help those who need it more than we do. If you like the look of an ad, give it a click, and if you like what we do here at TLCB, then please consider sharing us. The more eyeballs the ads get, the more we can give : )

Thank you

Black Friday

It’s Black Friday, that magical time of year when people are willing to smash their way into a store and stab one another over a discounted tablet.

As is customary, The Lego Car Blog will not be taking part in the annual celebration that leaves one in four Americans in debt, forces thousands of retail employees to work over thanksgiving, and which exceeds the annual GDP of around half the world’s countries (and that’s just the spend within the U.S and our home nation).

Thus instead of bringing you a round-up of the best Black Friday discounts*, here are some wholesome alternatives to the greedpocalypse that will help you to preserve your soul, and keep you safe from discount-fuelled shop violence.

Creations for Charity – Awesome one-of-a-kind Lego creations, with all proceeds used to buy LEGO sets for children in need.

Unicef Market – The United Nations Childrens Fund, providing humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide. Buying your Christmas gifts here will help to save and transform some of the youngest lives in the world’s poorest nations.

Red Cross, Tearfund, Christian Aid – Fantastic charities working every day to alleviate poverty, suffering, and injustice.

Finally, the revenue generated via the advertisements that appear on this site is also used to help those who need it more than we do. If you like the look of an ad, give it a click, and if you like what we do here at TLCB, then please consider sharing us. The more eyeballs the ads get, the more money we can give : )

Black Friday – Nothing to See Here

Black Friday

It’s the worst day of the year, when kindness, decency, and compassion are all forgotten for a discounted smart speaker. As has become customary here at The Lego Car Blog we won’t be taking in part in Black Friday, and if you feel like joining us dodging the hoards and saving your soul then there are some great alternatives below.

Creations for Charity, Tearfund, Red Cross

To Walmart!

It’s Black Friday! Which means the entire office are off to Walmart to fight middle aged women for discounted electricals. Not really, we’re very much remaining here and very much buying nothing, because a) we’re in another COVID-19 lockdown, and b) most importantly, Black Friday can suck it.

Still, if you must venture out to storm your local Walmart, have we got the vehicle for you! This is Ivan Martynov‘s ‘PanzerVVagen Heavy Terrestrial Assault Vehicle’, and it’s the perfect transport for the annual shopocalypse. Martin’s even racked up some old lady kills which are displayed proudly on the side.

Take the PanzerVVagen to Walmart and add your own old lady stamp (Carol from across the street isn’t going to get that last half-price TV alive!) via the link above!

Lego Brick

It’s Black Friday! That magical time of the year when here at The Lego Car Blog we do absolutely nothing to take advantage of slightly lower prices. If you feel like accompanying us in resolutely not joining the zombie hoards rampaging through Walmart then we have some awesome alternatives for you!

Firstly Creations for Charity, where brilliant creations and bespoke mini-figures are available to buy with all proceeds used to fund the purchase of LEGO toys for underprivileged children. You can check out what’s available at the Creations for Charity Bricklink store here, where the items for sale won’t have a 30% discount, but buying one will do a whole lot of good in the world.

You may also want to check our Christian Aid, Oxfam, The Red Cross and Tearfund, who are awesome every day of every year fighting poverty right around the world.

Finally just by being here you’re doing a little bit of good too, as all the proceeds from the limited adverts that appear on this site are given away to those who need them more than we do, including the charities above, local churches, and disaster relief agencies.

Thank you for your your clicks; we are so grateful that you’ve chosen to use them here : )

Black Friday | Nothing to See Here

Lego Zombie

Black Friday is back for another swipe at humanity, when the citizens of the western world are willing to bludgeon each other to death with the very same discounted electronics that they’re trying to buy. As usual we are not participating, so there will be no Black Friday deal links published here at The Lego Car Blog. Keep your soul – visit Creations for Charity, Tearfund, Red Cross, or the Super Secret link instead. See you on the other side.

Black Friday

It’s that time of year again, when millions of soulless zombies descend on shopping malls around the world, or frantically click ‘buy’ from the comfort of their office chair, in an attempt to obtain something they hadn’t thought about owning until today.

As is traditional The Lego Car Blog won’t be taking part, and if you’d like to avoid the annual greed apocalypse too there are some great alternatives!

Creations for Charity 2017

The wonderful Creations for Charity 2017 is in full swing, where you can buy unique fan-built Lego creations from which the proceeds are used to provide LEGO toys to underprivileged children. Visit the Creations for Charity store by clicking here and do something amazing this Black Friday!

We can also recommend Oxfam, Christian Aid, The Red Cross, Unicef and Tearfund, and finally just by being here you’re doing some good too, as the revenue raised by the adverts on this site is donated to causes worthier than ourselves (which isn’t hard!), so if an advert interests you please click it, your visits really do make a difference!

Lego Zombie

Black Friday is upon us once again, that unique time of year when people are willing to trample their fellow man to death to secure a discount on an electrical appliance. We hate Black Friday.

As has become traditional, unlike the proper Lego blogs we’re not taking part in the annual greed apocalypse, and instead we’re offering some alternatives to help you to avoid becoming just another mindless, soulless zombie with an unquenchable thirst for acquiring ever more pointless landfill.

Lego Creations for Charity

The awesome Creations for Charity campaign is back for another year, with some incredible fan-built models available to buy and where all proceeds are used to provide LEGO sets for underprivileged children. There’s just one week to go – to see what’s available and make a real difference to a child this Christmas visit the Creations for Charity 2016 page here.

Oxfam, Tearfund, Christian AidUnicef

Finally of course, just by being here you’re doing a little bit of good. All profits generated from the advertising you see here at The Lego Car Blog are donated to those who need them more than we do, including the charities above and also at a more local level around TLCB Towers. A huge thank you for your clicks – they mean the world to us.

Black Friday: Nothing to See Here

Lego Brick

Black Friday, that unique time of year when people are willing to stab one another over a discounted television, is upon the world again today.

As TLCB will not be taking part we’d like to offer you some neat alternatives to help you avoid getting into a fight over something you didn’t even know you wanted at Walmart.

Lego Creations for Charity

Creations for Charity; A brilliant annual event giving you the opportunity to buy unique creations built by some of the world’s best builders, with all funds raised used to buy LEGO toys for underprivileged children. If you’re going to buy something today, buy it from the Creations for Charity 2015 store.

Christian Aid, Tear Fund, Oxfam, The Red Cross

…and many more.

You’re also doing something good just by visiting this website. We don’t allow many advertisements to appear here at TLCB, but the revenue generated by those that do is not used here. Blogging is a privilege – we love sharing the web’s best Lego vehicles and helping to bring recognition to the builders behind them – so we don’t need to keep the revenue that this site earns. Instead this is used for a variety of good causes, from simply buying meals for those who are homeless around TLCB Towers to assisting in international disaster relief.

Your clicks are amazing.

From all of us at TLCB, thank you.

Black Friday: Nothing to See Here

Black Friday

Tomorrow someone is going die fighting over something they didn’t even know they wanted in Walmart.

The annual greed apocalypse that is Black Friday commences shortly, during which humanity, decency and kindness will be pushed aside for the sake of a half-price electrical appliance.

As this blog won’t be featuring tomorrow’s sales, if you’re in the market for something LEGO-related instead we’d love you to visit our friends over at the amazing Creations for Charity fundraising page.

There are some brilliant creations up for grabs, built and donated by some of the best builders around, and all the proceeds generated are used to buy LEGO toys for underprivileged children this Christmas. What could be better than that?

There’s only one day of the 2014 Creations for Charity event remaining so get in quick via the link above!

Lego Creations for Charity

Your clicks here are making a difference too. We only allow one advertisement to appear at any one time on TLCB, but thanks to your visits it more than covers the cost of hosting this site and maintaining TLCB Executive Washroom and Sauna.

We’ll update you all on where this revenue is being donated when we reach the next nice round number. We hope that we’re managing to operate a little differently to many of the other blogs in the Lego Community, and all thanks for the ability to do this go to you guys – this blog would be nothing without you.

Black Friday: The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Lego Winnebago

Today a plague of mindless, soulless zombies took to the streets, crushing the weak and inattentive beneath them, and remorselessly stopping at nothing until their lust was quenched.

We are of course talking about the American scourge known as ‘Black Friday’, where people are willing to trample one another to death to secure a 50% discount on something they didn’t even want until today, and where the equivalent of the entire GDP of Sudan is spent in just 24 hours.

Much like The Walking Dead’s Dale sitting atop his Winnebago whilst the zombies surge below him, The Lego Car Blog Towers are located out of reach of the madness, allowing us to watch from afar as society destroys itself to secure $25 off a hi-fi.

Misterzumbi’s mini-figure scale recreation of both Dale and the motorhome that featured in the first two seasons of the apocalyptic series seem perfect for today. We just hope our future is brighter than Dale’s turned out to be.

You can see all the photos of Misterzumbi’s fantastic model at his photostream here, and for our readers that managed to avoid the Black Friday greed, a super secret link. If you’d like to do something different from the zombies today, we highly recommend Red Cross, Christian Aid, Unicef and many more.
