The Walking Dead

In this TLCB Writer’s opinion, it’s only a matter of time before the dead rise up to feast on the squishy bits of the living.

What we’d want in those inevitably approaching times is a shotgun and an RV, so we could a) shoot at reanimated corpses from the safety of the roof, and b) take a crap in comfort.

Dale in ‘The Walking Dead’ had the right idea, well – until he went for a walk in a field and his squishy bits were pulled out, but had he stayed atop his classic Winnebago he’d have been fine.

Jonas Kramm has recreated Dale and his RV pre-zombie dinner, and a dead-good job he’s done too! All details are present and correct including the roll-out awning, radio arial, roof-mounted parasol and deck-chair arrangement, and a mini-figure Dale with shotgun.

Best of all, Jonas has made instructions available so you can recreate it too, meaning at least a mini-figure or two in your collection will be safe from the certain zombie apocalypse that’s coming.

Lego Post-Apoc Garbage Truck

When the Zombie Apocalypse arrives which – according to that guy stashing canned food in his shed – it will, you’re gonna want a vehicle like this. With a roof-mounted machine gun, a spiky bumper, and – of course – a garbage compacter to dispose of those annoying zombie corpses, this fortified garbage truck by Flickr’s Guy Smiley looks just the ticket for post-apoc survival. Take out the trash via the link above.

Black Friday – Nothing to See Here

Lego Zombie

Black Friday is upon us once again, that unique time of year when people are willing to trample their fellow man to death to secure a discount on an electrical appliance. We hate Black Friday.

As has become traditional, unlike the proper Lego blogs we’re not taking part in the annual greed apocalypse, and instead we’re offering some alternatives to help you to avoid becoming just another mindless, soulless zombie with an unquenchable thirst for acquiring ever more pointless landfill.

Lego Creations for Charity

The awesome Creations for Charity campaign is back for another year, with some incredible fan-built models available to buy and where all proceeds are used to provide LEGO sets for underprivileged children. There’s just one week to go – to see what’s available and make a real difference to a child this Christmas visit the Creations for Charity 2016 page here.

Finally of course, just by being here you’re doing a little bit of good. All profits generated from the advertising you see here at The Lego Car Blog are donated to those who need them more than we do, including the charities above and also at a more local level around TLCB Towers. A huge thank you for your clicks – they mean the world to us.

Colouring the Apocalypse

Karf Apoc

There seems to be a convention that following any variety of apocalypse (atomic, global warming, asteroid impact, alien invasion, zombie outbreak, massive Elf-fight, etc..), the overall decor will be rather drab. Tones of brown, black and grey will predominate, with the occasional beige camper van. Fortunately Flickr’s Karf Oohlu has decided to cheer everyone up with a pair of brightly coloured post-apoc vehicles. Click this link to his Photostream to enter his weird world.

Walk this Way

Lego The Walking Dead RV

The world’s second favourite television RV has featured here at TLCB before, and now Flickr’s Ralph Savelsberg (aka Mad Physicist) has taken Dale’s RV from the hit AMC series The Walking Dead to a new level. This flawless recreation the classic Winnebago includes a complete interior, authentic blood splatter, a shotgun-armed Dale, and – of course – a hungry zombie. There’s lots more to see on Flickr – click here and get ready to run!

Black Friday: Nothing to See Here

Black Friday

Tomorrow someone is going die fighting over something they didn’t even know they wanted in Walmart.

The annual greed apocalypse that is Black Friday commences shortly, during which humanity, decency and kindness will be pushed aside for the sake of a half-price electrical appliance.

As this blog won’t be featuring tomorrow’s sales, if you’re in the market for something LEGO-related instead we’d love you to visit our friends over at the amazing Creations for Charity fundraising page.

There are some brilliant creations up for grabs, built and donated by some of the best builders around, and all the proceeds generated are used to buy LEGO toys for underprivileged children this Christmas. What could be better than that?

There’s only one day of the 2014 Creations for Charity event remaining so get in quick via the link above!

Your clicks here are making a difference too. We only allow one advertisement to appear at any one time on TLCB, but thanks to your visits it more than covers the cost of hosting this site and maintaining TLCB Executive Washroom and Sauna.

We’ll update you all on where this revenue is being donated when we reach the next nice round number. We hope that we’re managing to operate a little differently to many of the other blogs in the Lego Community, and all thanks for the ability to do this go to you guys – this blog would be nothing without you.

Black Friday: The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Lego Winnebago

Today a plague of mindless, soulless zombies took to the streets, crushing the weak and inattentive beneath them, and remorselessly stopping at nothing until their lust was quenched.

We are of course talking about the American scourge known as ‘Black Friday’, where people are willing to trample one another to death to secure a 50% discount on something they didn’t even want until today, and where the equivalent of the entire GDP of Sudan is spent in just 24 hours.

Much like The Walking Dead’s Dale sitting atop his Winnebago whilst the zombies surge below him, The Lego Car Blog Towers are located out of reach of the madness, allowing us to watch from afar as society destroys itself to secure $25 off a hi-fi.

Misterzumbi’s mini-figure scale recreation of both Dale and the motorhome that featured in the first two seasons of the apocalyptic series seem perfect for today. We just hope our future is brighter than Dale’s turned out to be.

You can see all the photos of Misterzumbi’s fantastic model at his photostream here, and for our readers that managed to avoid the Black Friday greed, a super secret link. If you’d like to do something different from the zombies today, we highly recommend Red Cross, Christian Aid, Unicef and many more.

Lego The Walking DeadIt looks like the Zombie Apocalypse has reached LEGO City too. Luckily there’s a little plastic version of Daryl from The Walking Dead complete with his chopper to keep the other mini-figures safe from the hoarding undead.
