Trailing Fast

The Lego Car Blog Elves are very excited today, because – after a few were inevitably run over – they are now riding around the office in this stupendous JCB Fastrac 3185 and Oehler ZDK 180 combo.

Built by TLCB Master MOCer Eric Trax, this incredible Technic replica of the world’s fastest production tractor (and a trailer about which we know nothing) is powered by four Technic motors controlled via bluetooth thanks to a third-party SBrick. These power the steering, all-wheel-drive, rear three-point hitch and power-take-off, whilst a fifth is fitted within the Oehler trailer.

It’s this we’re about to surprise the Elves with, as Eric’s trailer can remotely tip by up to thirty degrees in two directions, dumping the contents very effectively indeed.

Whilst we have some fun with the trailer’s Elven cargo you can check out more of Eric’s astonishingly detailed JCB Fastrac tractor and Oehler trailer in tow at his Flickr album by clicking here, you can read his Master MOCers interview via the link above, and you can watch the model in action via the video below.

The World’s Fastest Tractor

This is the JCB Fastrac Two, a modified version of the company’s high-power all-wheel-drive Fastrac agricultural tractor, and it holds the Guinness World Record for world’s fastest tractor. Which could be a little like claiming to be the world’s tallest midget, but the Fastrac Two really is fast, reaching over 150mph. Sowing that barley will take minutes.

This Technic recreation of the record-breaking tractor comes from JLiu15 of Flickr, and is complete with remote control drive and steering, a six cylinder engine, and authentic decals from the record-setting run. There’s more of the build to see at JLui15’s ‘JCB Fastrac Two’ album and the Eurobricks forum, where further imagery and a link to building instructions can be found; take a look via the links above whilst this TLCB Writer registers to be the world’s smallest giant.

[Insert Christmas Title]

Try as we might we couldn’t think of a Christmassy title for SaperPL‘s Technic JCB Fastrac with rotary rake and tipper trailer, but it’s appearing here nevertheless (a hundred TLCB Points if you can).

Working steering, power-take-offs, a raising three-point hitch, a folding and spinning rotary rake, and a mechanical tipper all feature, and there’s more to see at the Eurobricks forum. Click the coloured text above to take a look, and try to think of a Christmas link.

You’re Going to Reap Just What You Sow*

A metaphor for mankind during the current Coronavirus pandemic? Maybe, but in this case we’re referring to this excellent JCB Fastrac and Kuhn sowing machine attachment, as built by previous bloggee Kreso007. Superbly detailed and presented there’s more to see of both the tractor and sowing machine at Kreso’s album on Flickr via the link above. And perhaps related to today’s title, be kind to one another, look out for those isolating on their own, and don’t steal the hand sanitiser from the hospital. Yes, people really are doing that. You’ll reap what you sow…

*Today’s perfect title song.

Lego Technic JCB Fastrac 4220

We like big yellow tractors here at The Lego Car Blog, seeing as we’re basically overgrown children, and that’s exactly what we have for you today!

The slab of yellow magnificence pictured here is a JCB Fastrac 4220, as built by previous bloggee Technic BOOM. Like the real machine BOOM’s Technic Fastrac features all-wheel-drive and all-wheel steering, operable remotely via LEGO’s Power Functions system. There are eight motors in total, powering the aforementioned drive and steering, a high/low gearbox, and the two raising/lowering hitches mounted front and rear, the latter of which includes a power-take-off too.

It’s a quality bit of kit and there’s much more to see at Technic BOOM’s Flickr photostream and via the Eurobricks discussion forum, where you can watch a video of the Fastrac in action. Click the links to take a look.

Insert Jumbo Jet behind for twice the awesome

GuiliuG on Brickshelf is responsible for this astonishingly technical JCB Fastrac. It features pneumatic lifts, working power take-offs, suspension, 12 speed gearbox, AWD (with 2wd switch)… basically more than all the models we’ve featured so far put together! Check out his video here, and the real thing being ‘tested’ by TopGear here, where it does something very cool with a Boeing 747…
