Italian-American

Lego Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 Motorcycle

Italian-Americans often seem to be more Italian than actual, you know, Italians. Maybe that’s why Moto Guzzi, Europe’s oldest motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production, have named as many of their bikes after American places as Italian ones.

This is one such bike, the Daytona 1000, as built by previous bloggee Angka Utama. Powered by a V-Twin producing around 100bhp the Daytona was a quick bike in its day, and was produced during the ’90s when the brand was under DeTomaso’s ownership.

There’s more to see of Angka’s excellent Model Team recreation of the Moto Guzzi Daytona 1000 at both Flickr and MOCpages – click the links to go for a ride.

Golden Ride

Lego Moto Guzzi Motorcycle

Nope, your Mom hasn’t started wearing that blonde wig for her nighttime rendezvous again, we’re referring to this; Andre Pinto’s pimped classic Moto Guzzi Le Mans 3, complete with a gloriously golden customised LEGO Technic frame.

It’s certainly a unique look, perhaps the motorcycle equivalent of this. Or this. Or even this. But probably this. Whatever, as this writer is a reserved Brit it’s not really his kind of bike, but it is an exquisite build. There’s more to see of Andre’s superbly detailed Moto Guzzi at his Flickr photostream, or via the Eurobricks discussion forum here.

Coffee Guzzler

Lego Technic Moto Guzzi Cafe Racer

This pretty Moto Guzzi cafe racer comes from Flickr’s Senpai Ragnarok, who made his TLCB debut last week with another lovely Technic bike. His latest uses similar techniques to recreate the cafe racer flat-tank style, and includes a V-Twin engine, rear suspension and woking steering. Join Senpai for a drink at the link above.
