4×12=959

Lego Porsche 959Here at The Lego Car Blog we don’t often publish articles on 4-wide vehicles. This is mostly because they don’t look much like the vehicle that they’re supposed to. Nils O forced TLCB Office to rethink this policy today, by building a 4-wide Porsche 959 that looks, well, exactly like a Porsche 959. So a sheepish thumbs-up to Nils from TLCB Team, and you can see more of his 4-wide work at MOCpages or Flickr.

Switch

Lego Switchable Tiny Turbos

One of TLCB’s favourite small scale builders is back, with something rather clever. Angka Utama’s three beautifully retro supercars are all built on the same pull-back motor chassis, allowing the builder to switch between them. A wonderfully simple and yet gloriously playable solution to the age old ‘parts limitation’ problem that every Lego builder experiences. See more of Angka’s ingenious design on MOCpages, or Flickr.

This Is How We Do It

Lego Tiny TurbosWe don’t often feature Tiny Turbo style creations here at The Lego Car Blog. This is mainly because most have all the design merit and individuality of a 1970s car park. DeTomaso Pantera however, shows how it should be done, with simple but excellent renditions of a Range Rover in Camel Trophy spec, and a Cadillac Fleetwood, amongst many others. See his full line-up on Flickr or MOCpages.

Red Roadster

Lego Red RoadsterAngka Utama has an impressive back catalogue of over 160 micro-scale cars over on MOCpages. It includes both real and fantasy creations, in a variety of styles and colours. His latest creation is rather like a Swiss watch. It’s small, cleverly designed, packed with moving parts and powered by clockwork. The Elves were particularly attracted to the “Redster”, as they can open the bonnet, the boot and the doors to sit on its white seat. The car is built on a pull-back motor chassis. Unfortunately this means that the Elves have been zooming across the office floor all morning without having to exchange their food tokens for motor batteries.

Small But Mighty

Small But Mighty

We thought this was a medium-size MOC at first, but believe it or not this highly detailed Ferrari 250 GT by Angka Utama is 4-wide.

With the creative use of LEGO’s Disney Cars 2 parts Angka captures the look very well; we think this is the most detailed 4-wide we’ve seen for a while. Check it out on MOCpages.

Angka Utama’s ‘Retro Blue’

A quick second post today, from Angka Utama on MOCpages. We don’t normally blog Tiny Turbo style vehicles, as any Elf bringing back a Tiny Turbo find is at risk of sleeping outside, but when one looks like this we’re happy to feature it. Called ‘Retro Blue’ you can see more at the link above.

Rennstall Bunker

Rennstall Bunker Porsche

Tiny Transporter

We’ve been posting MOCs towards the larger end of the spectrum recently, so today it’s time for something a bit smaller…

This tiny white transporter is a stretched Volkswagen T1 ‘Renntransporter’, as used by the Rennstall Bunker Porsche Team in the 1960s. Nils O is the creator, and you can see more of his mini-masterpieces on MOCpages.

And now for something a little smaller. Raphy over on Flickr has built this tiny Baja racer. Rarely have the Elves brought back such a miniscule MOC that looks this good.
