Digi-Max

Lego Mad Max Fury Road

Today’s find might be digital, but seeing as the Elves have been watching Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, or some other period drama that’s most un-Elven, we’re willing to post it, as we get nervous when they start doing unexpected things. We can also post it because it shows how a digital creation should be presented. Designed by Nicola Stocchi it’s a rather excellent recreation of the Nux Car from ‘Mad Max – Fury Road’, and good news! Instructions are available! Head over to Flickr for more images and the all-important instructions link whilst we let the Elves watch the movie…

Jap Rod

Lego 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe Takehito Yamato

Japan’s product design may not have a reputation for originality, but the Japanese can take almost anything pioneered by another part of the world and make it better. See the Mazda MX-5 Miata, the Toyota Land Cruiser, the Nissan GT-R, and pretty much every electronic device ever invented.

We can probably add hot rods to that list now too, thanks to this gorgeous 1932 ‘Takehito Yamato’ Ford Deuce Coupe. This Lego recreation of the real-world car comes from Master MOCer and previous bloggee Andrea Lattanzio aka Norton74, and he’s replicated the original vehicle superbly in Lego form, even building a beautiful period-correct workshop in which to house it.

There’s more to see of the Takehito Yamato at Norton74’s photostream – click the link above to head over to somewhere inbetween America and Japan.

The Lego Car Blog Elves like yellow. And they also like hot rods. TLCB regular _Tiler scores a home run then, with his brilliant American Graffiti Deuce Coupe, complete with banana rear fenders! See more on Flickr.

Where Were You in ’62?

Lego Ford ’32 Deuce CoupeWe might not be generous in any way to TLCB Elves, but we are to you guys. Overlooking a slight time-zone discrepancy, Flickr’s Chrisbuilds has snuck into TLCB Summer Building Competition at the last second. Well, when we say ‘snuck’, as much as is possible with a bright yellow ’32 Ford Deuce hot rod and a ’55 Chevy Coupe.

TLCB Summer Building CompetitionBoth cars are stars from the iconic 1973 movie ‘American Graffiti’ and Chris has replicated them superbly in smooth Model Team style. You can see more of both his competition entries on Flickr – click the link above to take a trip to ’62.

Lego Mad Max Hot Rod

There seems to be little let-up in the proliferation of Mad Max – Fury Road vehicles within the Lego Community, and we couldn’t be more pleased! Flickr’s _Tiler has added another to his garage – you can see more of it and his previous Mad Max builds at the link above.
