Brick-Built Bullitt

Possibly the most famous movie chase car ever, Steve McQueen’s ’68 Ford Mustang Fastback created a legacy which still sells cars today. Yup, you can buy a ‘Bullitt’ edition of Ford’s latest Mustang and it’s actually rather good, with a very American 460bhp V8 yet a very un-American ability to actually go around a corner. We’d still rather have a ’68 though, and cross our fingers each time we got to a turn. Flickr’s Simon Przepiorka is the builder behind this excellent 1:24 version and there’s more to see here.

Lego Bullitt Ford Mustang

TLCB Master MOCer and car-building legend Ralph Savelsberg has returned with another glorious movie car. Actually this dark green ’68 Ford Mustang GT Fastback isn’t just another movie car. It’s very probably the greatest movie car in cinematic history, and stars in one of the most influential car chases of all time.

You can see more of Ralph’s superb recreation of Bullitt’s iconic Mustang at the link above, and if you haven’t seen the chase scene in which it stars, we highly recommend taking 10 minutes to enjoy it here. Just don’t count the lost hubcaps…

Lego Technic Beach Buggy

With working steering, bouncy independent suspension, a mid-mounted V8 engine, a two-speed transmission and all-wheel-drive, this replica of the 1967 off road racer ‘Baja Boot’ (once owned by Hollywood legend Steve McQueen) looks as fun as the real thing.

Porsche 908/02Malte Dorowski (or Mr. Porsche as we know him) returns with another incredible build. This 1970 Porsche 908/02 was raced by Steve McQueen at the 12 hours of Sebring, where it finished second. McQueen also used it as a camera car in his film ‘Le Mans’, based on the real event.
