Lamborghini SC18 Alston | Picture Special

Lamborghini have built more special editions than your Mom’s had KFC Bargain Buckets. This is another one that no-one in TLCB Office had heard of, the SC18 Alston.

Based on an Aventador, just one SC18 Alston was built to fulfil a single (and very bespoke) customer order, engineered under the supervision of Lamborghini’s motorsports division. Parts from the Huracan Super Trofio EVO and Centenario were used, alongside several parts unique to the car.

The result was another one-off Lamborghini, and – with such limited information available – a nightmare for anyone trying to recreate it from LEGO bricks.

That’s hasn’t stopped Noah_L though, who has not only managed to recreate the SC18 Alston, he’s absolutely nailed it.

Using building techniques that look like they required a degree in quantum mechanics, Noah has successfully replicated the SC18’s wild exterior to perfection, even gradually increasing the model’s width by a single stud down the length of the car. Scissor doors, a detailed engine bay under an opening engine cover, and a realistic interior complete the build.

Lamborghini, like Volkswagen’s other brands Audi, Porsche, Ducati, and… er, Volkswagen, are now officially partnered with LEGO. Unfortunately so far the cars they’ve chosen to recreate in the brick are the butt-ugly Urus and a hypercar we’ve never heard of. We’d much rather see an Adventador set, particularly if – like today’s model – it’s orange.

Suggested by a reader this is David Elisson‘s Lamborghini Aventador and it is almost ridiculously accurate for its size. A myriad of complex techniques have been deployed to recreate the Aventador’s wild shape (just look at that windscreen surround!) and it is – as you can see here – really very orange indeed.

Following Charbel’s superb Technic McLaren 720S published here earlier in the week we now have Italy’s answer. Or one of them at least, as the country is fortunate enough to b home to a pair of top quality supercar makers. The is the Lamborghini Aventador SV, and it’s been recreated to near perfection by TLCB newcomer mihao/lego_bee.

Suggested by a reader and pictured here digitally (we think?), but built for real, mihao’s Aventador replicates the famous supercar’s aesthetic brilliantly in Technic form. Underneath accurate the 1:12 scale exterior is a complete remote control drivetrain formed by two L Motors driving the rear wheels with a Servo controlling the steering. All four wheels feature independent suspension, the head and tail lights work, and the scissor doors, front trunk and engine cover all open.

Lego Lamborghini Centenario

This incredible-looking car is a Lamborghini Centenario, built to celebrate the 100th Birthday of Ferruccio Lamborghini, and based on a 760bhp version of the V12-engined Aventador supercar.

Just forty Centenarios were produced, each costing well over $2million, and all were pre-sold, so it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see one. Fortunately Ryan Link has built the next-best thing; a near perfect Model Team replica of the limited-run supercar.

With a detailed interior and engine, opening doors and engine cover, and the Centennario’s carbon-fibre monocoque recreated beautifully in brick form it’s a model that’s well worth a closer look.

Lego Lamborghini Aventador SuperVeloce

This stunning replica of Lamborghini’s Aventador SuperVeloce could only have come from one builder. Yes, the infamous Firas Abu-Jaber is back, and his latest build (a commission piece) is one of his finest yet. Lego Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Lamborghini have been growing spectacularly under the stewardship of the VW Group. It started with the Murcielago and Gallardo over a decade ago, and this year the Italian brand famed for mental supercars will add their first SUV to the range.

Whilst it will probably double Lamborghini’s annual sales overnight, we really don’t care about the Urus SUV one bit. We do however care about cars like this; the fantastically extravagant Aventador LP700-4.

This excellent Model Team recreation of Lamborghini’s flagship supercar comes from previous bloggee Alexander Pachoaletto, it features opening doors and engine cover and… er, that’s about it. Perhaps the only part of the Volkswagen group of companies that will remain unaffected by the emissions scandal is Lamborghini. Customers buying a 690bhp, 6.5 litre, V12 engined car, probably won’t be surprised that its emissions are quite high and its fuel economy is best measured in miles to the pint. Still, there are some compensations. You can top 200mph when you pop down to the shops.

Nick Barrett’s version of the Aventador might be even faster, as it lacks the aerodynamic drag caused by wing mirrors. However, that’s being very picky, especially when you get your eyes into the details of this 1:10 scale monster MOC. The car is roughly 25 studs wide (or 1/4 of a SHIP) and the Technic axles used for the windscreen wipers don’t look out of place. Nick’s car has all of the working features that you’d expect from this Master MOCer. It includes Hand of God steering for playability and Nick’s take on the Aventador’s rear windscreen. Lego Lamborghini Aventador Firas Abu Jaber

Our recently-released Elves are starting to return home with their finds after their Christmas incarceration, so another bedraggled creature entering TLCB Towers isn’t normally worth much excitement. However, the Elf that found this creation got the attention of the whole office. ‘We recognise that style!’, we thought in unison…

This beautiful Lamborghini Aventador marks the return of one of the internet’s most revered vehicle builders, the brilliantly talented Firas Abu Jaber.

Firas has been away for a number of years, but an invitation to submit models for the next No Starch Press Lego book publication enticed him back into the community. There will be more to see when the aforementioned book is released next year, but until then you can see more of Firas’ spectacular Aventador by visiting his Flickr page.

The book in which Firas features is being written by Dennis Glaasker and Dennis Bosman, both of whom have appeared here over the years, and is entitled ‘The Art of Lego Scale Modelling’. Check out this Raging Bull of a build courtesy of Dohoon Kim over on Flickr. The build looks seamless – the way those complicated Lamborghini lines flow is seriously impressive.
