Transformers…

Yellow Lorry 02

…are actually pieces of electrical equipment. Regular readers of TLCB will know of the Elves’ obsession with the Transformers franchise. Finding the best Lego cars on the internet provides Smarties and meal tokens but happiness involves explosions, robots, more explosions and Megan Fox. You can imagine their excitement at finding Jakeof_’s latest build. The smoothly modelled DAF XF95 tractor, towing a Nooteboom Pendel-X trailer with a large transformer as its load is typical of Jakeof_’s style. You can also imagine their disappointment once they realised what sort of transformer it actually was. Still, we’re happy with our find and recommend that you visit Jakeof_’s Photostream to see the details.

Bluesome Twosome

Lego Scania DAF Trucks

What’s better than one brilliant heavy haulage truck? Two of course. Nanko Klein Paste has obliged with this pair of stunning classic Sarens tractor units. Both are exquisitely detailed and you can see more of each by clicking on these magic words.

Red Lorry Yellow Lorry

Lego DAF 2400 Truck

We posted this utterly gorgeous classic DAF 2400 tractor unit a while back, and builder Nanko Klein Paste has now added a brilliant trailer to complete the model. You can see all of the superb images on Flickr, simply click on the link above to visit Nanko’s photostream.

Classic DAF Truck Lego

Classic Truckin’

Lego DAF FT 18DS Truck

Flickr’s Arian Janssens has appeared here at TLCB a few times over the years, and on each occasion with a DAF truck. Building diversity may not be Arian’s thing, but if you’re good at something there’s lots to be said for sticking with it. Arian’s latest truck – a classic DAF FT 18DS – shows the results such building consistency can bring. There’s more to see at the link above.

Double Dutch

Lego DAF DD

Arian Janssens’ DAF 16DD might have an improbably small waist, but its cup size is spot-on. See more of his Dutch classic here.

Daffy Truck II

Lego DAF 2400 DO Truck

Following yesterday’s modern DAF truck post, here’s its grandad. This stunning recreation of the classic DAF T 2400 has been built by previous bloggee Nanko Klein Paste. Nanko has detailed the chassis and engine as well as the beautiful 1960s Dutch bodywork, and you can see all the photos after the jump.

Daffy Truck

Lego DAF Truck

This unusual (and huge) DAF crane truck was discovered on Flickr. It’s the work of Arian Janssens and you can see the full gallery by clicking here.

Green Machine

Lego GINAF Truck

How many The Lego Car Blog Elves can you fit in the back of a Lego truck? We’re a bit drunk tonight so we’re going to find out with some ‘volunteers’ and Arian Janssens‘ GINAF 10×8 dump truck. For those outside the Netherlands – us included – GINAF are sort of re-badged DAF trucks. No, we’re not sure why either. Anyway, you can see more of this one via the link to Flickr above whilst we squash some Elves.

DAF Double

Lego DAF XF Truck

These two huge Model Team style DAF trucks were discovered on Flickr today. Built by Arian Janssens they represent two decades of European truck building. See more of the modern XF above and classic 2700 below via the link.

A Mammoth MOC

Lego DAF XF Mammoet

This enormous DAF XF truck with six-axle Noteboom trailer is the work of previous bloggee Nako Klein Paste aka nkle on Flickr. The build features an opening and tilting cab, steering axles and a realistic load of Liebherr mobile crane counter-weights. See all the photos at nkle’s photostream via the link above.

Super Space Cab

Lego DAF Truck

DAF’s XF Super Space Cab might be the coolest truck name there is. Arian Janssens has built the Dutch truck nicely using a big Model Team style. See it on Flickr here.

The Bull

DAF 3300 Paris Dakar Truck

Back in the 1980s the Paris Dakar Rally was a very different proposition to how it is today. GPS hadn’t been invented and the race was as much about navigation as speed. European manufacturers were taking the event seriously though, and creating purpose built machines. Dutch truck builder DAF joined the race in 1985 with their heavily modified 3300 off-road truck, driven by Jan de Rooy. ‘The Bull’ as it was known finished in 2nd place within the truck category, and we bet it looked bloody cool doing so.

Nanko Klein Paste shows us how The Bull looked with his awesome recreation in Lego form. Utilising four Power Functions medium motors for drive and with some monster suspension, Nanko’s Technic version of the Dutch legend looks as capable off road as any Lego model is likely to get. See all the photos and details on Flickr at the link above.

DAF 2800

Lego DAF Truck

If you were a 1980’s dutch mini-figure truck driver you’d probably have spent your day in one of these, a DAF 2800 articulated HGV. Thietmaier is the builder, and you can see more on Flickr here.

Daffy Truck

Lego DAF TruckThe Elves found this DAF FT 2300 by Flickr’s nkle yesterday, but we were feeling lazy and didn’t blog it, and The Brothers Brick got there first. Cue a riot from our irritating workforce. Sigh. Cartoons have since been switched on (hence the title) and calm has been restored. We’ll give them 15 minutes and then Mr. Air Horn is coming to say hello. Anyway, you can see this brilliant 1980s truck on Flickr at the link above.

Dinky DAF

Lego DAF TruckPatrick Bosman‘s Town-style DAF 2600 curtain-side truck is great creation (that’s why it’s here on The Lego Car Blog after all), but we actually think it’s the little washing machine that steals the show! Yes, we’re a bit sad. See more of the truck (and washing machine) via the link above.
