Fortunately not a Monday night in front of the tele with eighties’ comedy duo Syd and Eddie but a ravishingly beautiful, small-scale version of Lego’s 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Lego Porsche building legend Malte Dorowski continues his run of incredible Stuttgart supercars. This, his latest, is one of the most fearsome; the Porsche 911 RSR, and Malte has built and photographed his Lego replica absolutely beautifully.
Some of the finest Lego models of any type, Malte’s Porsches are really worth a closer look, and you can do so on Flickr at the link above, where you can also find a link to Malte’s LEGO Ideas page where he hopes his Porsche design will gain enough support to become an official LEGO set. And we do too.
Porsche-building extraordinaire Malte Dorowski has appeared here numerous times over the years with a huge variety of Stuttgart machinery and he’s currently hoping to turn one of his stunning Porsche replicas into an official LEGO set.
His latest upload evolves his previously featured 911 GT3 into a small scale version of LEGO’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS Technic set. We are not fans of the overpriced Technic flagship, but we do very much like Malte’s Model Team masterpiece. With the license already in place between LEGO and Porsche turning Malte’s design into an official LEGO set seems like a no-brainer to us!

With LEGO recently announcing the success of Carl Greatrix’s Caterham Seven Ideas project we’re feeling confident about the prospect of Malte Dorowski’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS reaching the 10,000 supporter mark that enables an official LEGO review. Malte recently released an updated version of his beautiful 911 replica and you can see more of the build – and vote for it to become an official LEGO set – by visiting his Flickr photostream here.
No, not that Porsche 911 GT3 RS, but this one could become an official set too. Car-building legend Malte Dorowski has been refining his Model Team Porsches for years, and has now revealed a version of the legendary German sports car that could one day become an official LEGO set – if you vote for it.
Malte’s latest iteration is a top of the tree GT3 RS, complete with the iconic white and red colour scheme, and – as you can see in this image – the techniques used to create it are quite a step above any official LEGO set on sale.
We don’t expect a model this complicated to pass LEGO’s design requirements unedited, but we do think there is room in LEGO’s line-up for some increased complexity.

McLaren Automotive and LEGO ReBrick’s superb ‘Future McLaren’ competition ends tomorrow, and there have been some excellent submissions so far. Our penultimate day of coverage features entries from two previous TLCB bloggees, the brilliantly talented Peteris Sprogis and Malte Dorowski.
Peteris’ creation seems to have mixed McLaren with Tron (McLaTron?), and very cool it looks too. You can check out all of the images of his McLaren concept at his photostream on Flickr.

LEGO’s Speed Champions sets, featuring licensed partnerships with Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche, have been warmly received by the interwebs. Porsche-building legend Malte Dorowski got there long before LEGO though, and he’s built some versions of LEGO’s official 75912 Porsche set that are a little bit bigger… You can see more of Malte’s set of differently-sized Porsches on both Flickr and MOCpages.
Audi have been the dominant force in endurance racing since forever, and long before diesel and hybrid power became their propulsion of choice they used this, the mighty open-cockpit R10 LMS. Malte Dorowski built this Lego version years ago too, but it’s just appeared on Flickr and thus it can appear here too. See more after the jump.
Over the past week The Lego Car Blog has been a bit more ‘Truck’ than ‘Car’. Today we return to our job description with a blog post Special to celebrate one of the team’s favourite builders, the incredible Malte Dorowski.
Malte has featured here several times over the years with his beautiful racing cars. Today – after some time away from the Lego community – he has finally returned, with this completely gorgeous Porsche 911 Carrera RSR Turbo.
Built in 1974 and raced by the Martini Porsche works team, the Carrera RSR Turbo heralded a new dawn for racing cars, making 500bhp from just 2.1 litres with the aid of a huge turbocharger. Malte has recreated not only the car but also its incredible flat-6 engine in astounding detail, using a variety of unusual LEGO pieces ranging from flags to robot hands.
The Porsche’s bodywork is just as inventive, with elephant tusks, mini-figure SCUBA flippers and harpoons all making perfectly judged appearances. The Elves were very excited when they found this creation today. They like cars, they like racing and they like explosions, so it ticked all their boxes. Basket Case
With 2013 just round the corner, The Lego Car Blog Elves detained over Christmas were re-released last night. Their search for 2013 is unchanged from 2012; to find the best car-related LEGO creations, news and groups on the web. After a period of hunger and boredom whilst locked in their cages they do seem rather keen to earn themselves some dinner. As such today we have three great MOCs to share with you right out of the box. By coincidence, or through some kind of Elf pact, all today’s posts are on the green side.
