Six Pack

Lego Trucks

Following on from Dennis Bosman‘s incredible Kenworth Wrecker and his Master MOCer interview published yesterday, the Elves are feeling quite trucky; one of them arrived back at The Lego Car Blog Towers this morning with no less than six amazing trucks!

So, six meal tokens for the lucky Elf? Er, no. You see we’ve featured several of these trucks here at TLCB before, but builder Andrea Lattanzio (aka Norton74) has recently posted all six of his current creations together in one awesome six pack group shot. We tried to think of other good things that come in sixes but ran out after beer, eggs and iced buns.

See all six of his brilliant ’80s and ’90s European trucks by clicking the links to MOCpages and Flickr in the text above.

Yellow Cab

Lego Scania Truck

TLCB regular Andrea Lattanzio aka Norton74 is back with another variant of his brilliant Scania 4 Series truck. His latest version is the single-axle version fitted with an inline six cylinder engine, and can be viewed on either MOCpages or Flickr.

Lego Scania Truck

3 in 1

Lego Scania Low Loader Truck

We’re only three days into the new year and the Elves have already found possibly the best vehicular MOC we’re likely to see. This astonishing build is the work of Dennis Bosman aka LegoTrucks, and it’s taken him over two years to complete.

Up front is a beautiful Scania R500 8×4/4 tractor unit, behind which is a Faymonville Megamax low loader trailer, giving a total vehicle length of an incredible 2.5 meters. The Megamax’s load is just as spectacular as the rig carrying it; an enormous vintage Menck M154 bucket excavator complete with boom extension.

Lego Scania R500 Low Loader Truck

Each model is a work of brilliance in its own right, and put them all together and you have one of the most realistic creations we’ve ever featured. To see all the photos of the Scania, the Megamax steered-trailer and the Menck excavator make sure you visit Dennis’ Flickr photostream via the link above, where you’ll also find images of the real truck, trailer and load combination that inspired this amazing build.

Truck Triple

Lego Kenworth Truck

It’s the last day of 2013, so before we all get drunk to celebrate the arrival of another year, we thought we’d end the current one with a bumper haul.

Our final post of 2013 contains three superb trucks, found by both the Elves and you, our readers. First up is this stunning Kenworth hay-hauler, found on Flickr and built by Maciej Drwiega.

Lego Scania Truck

Next is a creation suggested by a reader via the Feedback and Submission Suggestions page, and one we’ve featured here before; Andrea Lazttanzio (aka Norton74)’s excellent large scale Scania 164G. Andrea has updated his model with a huge Nooteboom trailer and has captured it perfectly in several new outdoor photographs. See them all on Flickr or MOCpages.

Lego MAN Truck

And finally, because good things come in threes and it was also red and white, is Lasse D’s MAN 8×4 cement truck. Complete with Power Functions remote control steering and drive and a rotating barrel, Lasse’s Model Team scale truck is packed with functions and still looks brilliant. See all the photos and a video of the truck’s features on Eurobricks.

And that ends The Lego Car Blog’s coverage of the best LEGO models, sets and news from 2013. Have a great New Year celebration and we’ll see you in 2014!

T144 Tow Truck

Lego Tow Truck Scania Wrecker

Another day, another Elf looking for meal token. Today’s is well deserved though, as this Scania T144 Tow Truck by Flickr builder-extroadinairre Rolic is a breathtakingly brilliant build. See all the pictures at Rolic’s photostream here.

Truckers of the Caribbean

Lego Pirates TruckThe Elves, with their tiny minds and penchant for cartoon-style violence, love the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Ok, well maybe not the third one but no-one liked that. So there was much excitement today when one of the troop found this highly modified Scania R560 truck on Flickr by TLCB regular BricksonWheels. His latest work echoes the European truck modifying scene; chrome, lots of lights and a seriously impressive paint job. BricksonWheels’ captures all the essentials and also throws in some Power Functions remote control features too.

See the full gallery of this amazing creation and read how it was built here, and you can read TLCB’s interview with the builder in the Master MOCers series here.

Bertone

Lego Scania TruckThe Italian designer Bertone penned all manner of beautiful exotic cars (and the Vauxhall Astra Convertible), so it was a moment of brilliance by Scandinavian truck maker Scania to employ the company to design their new truck in 1996. An instant success, European truck drivers split into two camps; those that drove a Scania and those that wanted to. Sadly Bertone himself died just a year later and the Bertone company was absorbed into the FIAT group. Norton74 pays tribute the design great with his superbly recreated Scania 164G trucks. See more of his creations on either Flickr or MOCpages.

Motorway Maintenance

Lego Scania TruckWe’re kicking off the week here at TLCB with some big creations. First up is this colossal Scania R124G complete with low-lowder trailer and excavator. Built by Dennis Bosman aka ‘legotrucks’ you can see more of the rig here. Next is one of the more unusual vehicles that we’ve featured, but without which all the others here would have nowhere to drive. They’re a pair of grader/scrapers, used for removing old tarmac before new is laid. Suggested to us via the Feedback and Submission Suggestions page they’ve been built by bricklington on Brickshelf, and you can see the full gallery via the link above.

Lego Grader

Pile Driver

Lego Scania TruckThe ‘Pile Driver’ is something we’re all too familiar here with here at TLCB Towers. The Elves seem to have a good working knowledge of wrestling moves and it’s one we see attempted fairly regularly before a blast of the air horn breaks them up. The ‘Pile Driver’ is also a large piece of construction equipment used for, er, driving piles, and msbbanl‘s done a superb job recreating one in Lego form including a lovely Town-scale Scania truck to haul it. See more of the rig on Flickr via the link above.

’70s Haulage

Lego Scania LB 141 TruckThis classic Scania LB 141 is the work of the brilliant Norton74 on Flickr. Complete with a tilting cab to reveal the detailed V8 engine and a full tan interior it’s one of the nicest trucks uploaded in 2013 thus far. Norton has a rapidly expanding portfolio of fantastic trucks on his Flickr photstream. Check them out here.

Potato Puller

Lego Scania 143 TruckThe collaboration continues between two of the world’s most talented Lego truck builders. This incredible Scania 143 truck, previously featured here at TLCB, is the work of BricksonWheels on Flickr. His equally talented compatriot, Dennis Bosman, a prolific truck builder in his own right, adds a perfectly suited Bulthuis Potato trailer to complete the rig.

We’re delighted to announce that we recently bagged an interview with BricksonWheels, who becomes the second builder in our Master MOCer Series. Click here to read his story, or visit the ‘Interviews’ tab on the homepage menu.

Gravel Pit

Lego Model Team Truck HaulerWe’ve written about this astonishing Peterbilt 379 by bricksonwheels before, but when a builder updates their portfolio with photos like these it’s definitely worth a revisit. Bricksonwheels moves his spectacular truck to a remarkably well-suited setting, where he’s joined by the equally brilliant Dennis Bosman and his previously featured Scania LT tipper. View the full gallery resulting in their meet at either of the aforementioned links. And now, for no reason other than a tenuous link the title, a bonus video to demonstrate how street we are.

Lego Dump Trucks

Classic Scania

Lego Scania LT146This beautiful classic Scania LT146 dump truck is the work of TLCB favourite Dennis Bosman, also know as legotrucks. The LT146 was almost a year in the making, and not only is it incredibly accurate in the looks department it includes some decent Technic functions underneath too. The Elves found Dennis’ latest work on Flickr, but where you really want to head is his own very smart website, which contains full details of this and his other works.

Pulling Swedes

Lego Scania Truck

Not the blonde curvy type of Swede, but still nice to look at.

Time for a truck, and this example comes from one the best truck builders on the net; Bricksonwheels. Dating from the late ’80s to early ’90s, these 143 model Scanias could punch out over 500bhp from their V8s. See the complete photo gallery of this classic tractor unit on Flickr.

Match This Dragon Style!

Image

Brickonwheels has done it again. Another immaculately built truck – a European style cab-over this time. It’s a Scania, by the way, but that’s not important. The important bit is the artwork. The dragons made the Elves nervous, for some reason…
