AEC Regent BusHere at The Lego Car Blog we usually feature creations with a V8 under the hood, flames shooting out the back, or machine guns on the front. And sometimes all of the above at once. This glorious AEC Regent Bus in Lisbon livery (hence the Portuguese title) has none of these things, but it is fanatically beautiful, and thus it earns a place here – and instantly makes the homepage a more classy place to be to boot. Joao Campos is the builder behind it, and you can see more of this wonderful historic vehicle on MOCpages.

Lego Kamaz TruckSummer is finally starting to find its way to The Lego Car Blog Towers, and its imminent arrival has given the Elves a sunny disposition, resulting in a yellow day here at the blog. We like yellow, so on with the show!

First up is this splendid 1:16 scale Kamaz dropside truck. Built by DB_Kit Fisto, it’s one of the most brilliantly detailed vehicles we’ve blogged in a while. It features working suspension, Power Functions drive and Ackerman steering. And it’s very yellow.

Second up is something a little smaller. [Maks] is back with a mini-figure scale vehicle entitled ‘Yellow School Bus’. Which is exactly what it is. And it’s rather good too. Check it out on Flickr.

Lego Technic Bus

Volvo Concept Articulated Bus (CAB)

This stupendous machine is a Volvo Bus Concept from Vibor Cavor on Flickr and MOCpages. Constructed using huge restaurant wall pieces as well as standard blue and white bricks it has a somewhat aquatic flavour. Inside sit a variety of LEGO Technic figures, and their mini-figure children, whilst underneath them LEGO Technic Power Functions motors propel the bus towards its next stop. Gabor Horvath, the master of small scale RC trucks and buses, is the builder of this fantastic remote-controlled Mercedes Citaro articulated bus. The vehicle is only 6 studs wide yet contains 2 PF M motors, 1 PF IR receiver, 1 battery box and all the gears necessary to provide public transport in a LEGO city. Some more views and a video:

Amazing Lego Town

Henrik Hoexbroe’s amazing ‘ Kingstown, USA, 1959’

Today we’re pleased to bring you a MOC Special. One of our favourite Town builders, whose creations we’ve featured a few times here before, has pulled together all of his MOCs into one incredible Town-style layout. Set in 1959, Henrik Hoexbroe’s masterpiece includes some simply beautiful small-scale Americana, including Checker Taxis, Greyhound Buses, finned Cadillacs and countless other classic vehicles. Not only that, he’s set in them all in a living world of plastic, complete with diners, cinema, parks, a used car lot… there is is literally too much for us to pick out here.

Lego Routemaster Bus

London Transport

The Elves got very excited during the Olympics this year, and as such they’ve been looking for anything a bit London-y since. An outing to Flickr uncovered something about as London-y as it’s possible to be; a classic Routemaster Bus. Lego Car Blog favourite Ralph S aka Mad Physicist is the builder behind it, and you can see more here.

You may have noticed a little sporting jamboree happening right now in London. So did Gabor Horvath. To celebrate, he’s blessed us with this 6 wide Routemaster Bus with full RC control cleverly packed into it, complete with highly entertaining video. It’s on Cuusoo too. Greyhound Bus

The Elves don’t always get on with dogs – looking like bite-size luncheon somewhat inhibits any relationship with man’s best friend. So it was a brave Elf who ventured onto Henrik Hoexbroe’s MOCpage titled ‘Dog Transport‘. We’re glad he did because this 1950’s Greyhound coach is nothing short of a masterpiece.
