Febrovery Finale

It’s the last day of Febrovery, meaning our Elves will cease bringing back sci-fi nonsense and we can re-start blogging cars! Before then though, we have three (excellent) Febrovery creations to share, about each of which we know absolutely nothing. We’re counting the hours until it’s cars again…

First up is a Febrovery entrant that is at least relatable to our humdrum transport here on Earth, being a space school bus by Flickr’s Tyler (aka Legohaulic). A diverse list of alien children are present for the trip to space school and there’s more to see at Tyler’s photostream via the link.

The second creation in our Febrovery Finale come from regular bloggee Horcik Designs, whose space tanker merges Neo-Classic Space and Octan to brilliant effect. Twenty four wheels make it exactly six times better than anything in TLCB office car park and there’s more to see on Flickr. Click the link above to make the jump to Neo-Classic Space.

Ah ‘Ice Planet 2002′, when years starting with a ’20’ seemed super futuristic. This funky looking rover by Carter pays tribute to the oft-forgotten vintage theme, and includes the coolest wheels seen since your Mum fitted spinners to her mobility scooter. There’s more of Carter’s ‘Ice Scout’ to see on Flickr – click the link above to check it out.

Redfern1950s has given himself a lift. Published here earlier in the month, we titled Red’s rat rodded school bus after the name your Mom used ‘professionally’, and – just like your Mom – Red’s recently enhanced things to make them a whole lot more… noticeable. Jacked suspension and comically enormous tyres complete the look and there’s more to see of Red’s enhanced Busty Rusty on Flickr here.

Coincidentally the name your Mom had when your Dad first met her at the bar where she worked, and also today’s title, befitting this glorious rat rodded school bus by previous bloggee and Master MOCer Redfern1950s (aka red 2).

With an exposed Cummins diesel up front and a roof-chop the length of the seating area this probably isn’t as comfortable transport as it once was, but kids are short and who wouldn’t want to go to school in this?

Battle Bus

Confession time. This TLCB writer has never played Fortnite. It’s like admitting you’ve never seen Pulp Fiction. Or read 1984. Both of which are much too old for Fortnite players to know what we’re on about.

Anyway, apparently within the online sensation a school-bus-hot-air-baloon exists for reasons we don’t understand and Flickr’s Wookieewarrior has chosen to recreate it in Lego form. A quick Google of the real deal revealed that not only has Wookiee nailed it, his version looks better than the the slightly ropey looking pixelated one in the game.

Lego Technic RC School Bus

It’s Valentines Day here at The Lego Car Blog Towers, but with only the Elves bringing us anything we may as well get straight down to some tenuously-linked Lego models!

This is ArsMan064‘s Technic school bus, which on the face of it has nothing to do with the day of love whatsoever, but the humble school bus has probably had more teenage bodily fluids secreted into it than any other vehicle. Gross.

It’s powered by a Medium Motor with a Servo for steering, and another Medium motor opens the cabin door electrically. There’s nifty leaf-sprung suspension and LED lights too. Relive your high-school conquests/regrets via Eurobricks at the link above.

Lego Technic Remote Control School Bus

TLCB Elves are great fans of remotely controlled creations. If they’re large and/or fast enough they can even be used to smush unsuspecting co-workers.

Today’s Elf needs to go back to school though, as its find – paave‘s brilliant Technic school bus – is neither large nor fast. Unfortunately this meant that the group of Elves it was targeting heard the bus coming, jumped out of the way, overturned it in a rare moment of Elven cooperation, and then chased the controlling Elf out of the office. As your Mom would say, size matters.

Anyhoo, in this case it’s actually the creation’s diminutive size that makes it more impressive, as squeezed inside are a full remote control drivetrain and a working motorised door, all in a model that’s only about 10 studs wide.

Lego Mad Max Post-Apoc School Bus

If the Elves went to school, this is what they’d ride in. This would be to ensure the safety of the community, but we have a feeling that they would love it too. Suggested by a reader, you can see more of James Cox’s post-apoc Mad Max-esque school (of hard knocks) bus on Flickr.

Today’s second Mad Max creation comes from Flickr’s Doctor Mobius for the LUGNuts ‘100 Way to Win’ challenge, and it’s… er, we’re not entirely sure. But we’ll trust him. He’s a doctor. See more here.

Lego School Bus

Here at TLCB Towers it’s half-term, meaning the roads are nicely devoid of the unnecessarily large SUVs that clog them up most mornings. What we need is a good school bus system, something that America’s got nailed. Lego Kamaz TruckSummer is finally starting to find its way to The Lego Car Blog Towers, and its imminent arrival has given the Elves a sunny disposition, resulting in a yellow day here at the blog. We like yellow, so on with the show!

First up is this splendid 1:16 scale Kamaz dropside truck. Built by DB_Kit Fisto, it’s one of the most brilliantly detailed vehicles we’ve blogged in a while. It features working suspension, Power Functions drive and Ackerman steering. And it’s very yellow.

Second up is something a little smaller. [Maks] is back with a mini-figure scale vehicle entitled ‘Yellow School Bus’. Which is exactly what it is. And it’s rather good too. Check it out on Flickr.
