Everyone knows that red is the fastest colour. It’s a scientifically proven fact. Using the racing colour of choice to great effect are Hot Rod Vince with his ‘Little Racing Bike’, and Tyler Sky with his ‘Formula One Space Speeder’. See more of both on Flickr.
We’re not sure what’s got into the Elves recently. Until this week we’d probably only posted three Russian MOCs in our whole existence, yet in the last few days alone we’ve posted another three. Anyway, while we investigate the Elves’ obsession with Soviet-era transportation, you can view this rather brilliant Ural motorbike from Lino M on Flickr.
The Lego Car Blog Elves continue their unending search for the best LEGO creations on the world wide web, and today one returned from a romp through Brickshelf with these. MOCer tango-zero has recreated some glorious drag bikes, the latest two of which you can see here. Above is a wonderful Harley Davidson Street Racer, whilst below is the baddest type of bike you can get; an insane Top Fuel Drag Racer. To see these and tango-zero’s other bikes, click his hyperlinked name above.
It climbs the hills like a Matchless, ‘Cause my Honda’s built really light.
When I go into the turns, Lean with me and hang on tight
I better turn on the lights, So we can ride my Honda tonight
Well said Brian Wilson of Beach Boys fame. And well built by Zoltan Precsenyi on MOCpages, who’s done a superb job of recreating the Honda CB1100 in Lego. See more of this groovy little motorbike here.
The First World War ace Manfred von Richthofen, otherwise known as the Red Baron, died tragically young like most of those lost in the Great War. However, his aerobatic prowess and number of kills has granted him lasting infamy, and he’s now revered as something of a legend. Bricksonwheels continues the Baron’s story with his stunning ‘Red Baron’ Harley Davidson. Resplendent in the Baron’s famous colour scheme and markings, and with about £1m worth of chrome plated bricks, it might just be the best bike we’ve featured yet. See more at brickonwheels’ Flickr photostream.
With MOCpages back up and running there’s been an influx of new models uploaded. The Lego Car Blog Elves have been redistributed accordingly and are once again foraging far and wide to find the best Lego vehicles on the world wide web. Vehicles like this one. Nick Barrett must’ve read our recent review of LEGO’s own 857 and thought he could do better. And by gum he has. The clunky lines of the original motorcycle have been replaced by something far more svelte. See more on the revitalized MOCpages.
This lovely old Kawasaki KZ400 is the work of Jonsson on Eurobricks, who mixes Technic and Model Team styles to great effect. You can read more at the Eurobricks discussion page here.
Following some unusual generosity from TLCB Team towards our Elf-based workforce, normality has been restored by chucking a few of the little buggers over The LEGO Company’s walls in order to uncover the new releases for 2013. Today one of the ‘lucky’ Elves chosen for this mission returned to the office holding this; the 2013 Technic Moto-Cross Bike.
Resplendent in KTM orange, 42007 continues the decent return to form that Technic has been enjoying over the past few years. There are new dirt tyres, a V-Twin engine, all-round suspension via some rather lovely shock-absorbers, and some funky looking decals too.
We expect this to be a mid-entry in LEGO’s Technic pricing structure, probably being the lowest priced of the ‘proper’ Technic sets, with some ‘mini’ Technic sets slotting underneath it.
As the Elves find their way back to The Lego Car Blog Towers we’ll bring you sneak peeks of the other 2013 Technic sets, so watch this space for more posts in our ‘News’ category.
Bricksonwheels MOC is one of Lego community’s greatest truck-builders, and occasionally he turns his considerable talents to other forms of transport too. Featuring his trademark chrome, this Harley Davidson ‘Fatboy’ motorbike got The Lego Car Blog Elves very excited; running around the office making ‘Brrrm BrrRRRRm’ noises. We’ve finally managed to kick them out so they can continue their search, but secretly we’re very proud of the one that brought this MOC in. View it in greater depth on MOCpages.
Deceptively simple looking, CAB & Tiler’s Lego Motorbike is a master-class in finding the right parts for the job. View it on their Flickr profile.

Normally seen somewhere underneath 3 children, their parents, a great Aunt, a basket of rice and a 6ft roll of carpet
Honda’s CG 125 is one of the great mobilisers of the modern world, capable of carrying whole families, delivering carpet, drain-pipes and live animals, and even in a few cases I’ve seen, entire shops (roof, shelving, stock and all). Nico71 has produced the superb Technic version above; see more in his gallery on Brickshelf.
When Obi-Wan Kenobi and that other bloke decided to bike round the world, they chose this, the BMW 1200, as their ride. Fred Ottens over on MOCpages recreates a wonderful bike using some yellow, black and very shiny bricks.
