The Dark Knight Rises

Lego Batman Batpod Batbike

Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight is one of our very favourite movie trilogies, so wonderfully did it deconstruct the previous camp crusader’s legacy. One of our very favourite Lego builders has now completed a Batman trilogy of his own.

Sariel’s awe-inspiring remote controlled Batwing and Tumbler featured here over the past two years, and he’s finally added the last of Bruce Wayne’s wheels to his collection. Controlled by Lego’s Power Functions RC system, the Batpod is the smallest of Sariel’s three Batmobile’s, but possibly the most complex as a result.

Join the final instalment at Sariel’s MOCpage, or via his own excellent website sariel.pl.

They See Me Rollin’

Lego Classic Space Command Roller

We kick off a space-themed day today with this; David Alexander Smith’s Classic Space Command Roller. We have absolutely no idea what to say about it, other than it reminds us of a t-rex, a cat, a steamroller and this, all rolled* into one.

Available on MOCpages and Flickr, see if you can try to work it out at the links.

*Sorry.

Tangerine Dream

Lego Harley Davidson Street Glide

This Harley Davidson Street Glide is the work the amazing Bricksonwheels, and it’s as orange as a budget airline air stewardess. It means an orange Smartie for the Elf that found it and – as any Smartie connoisseur will know – they’re the best kind. See more on Flickr.

Mini-Moto

Lego Technic Mini Motorbike

One of our Eurobricks-based Elves returned today clutching this in one claw – with the other held out expectantly for a meal token. It was quite a brave choice by the aforementioned Elf as we don’t tend to blog small Technic creations here, but this is one we’d buy with our own pay packet if it were available.

Gsia17 is the builder, and he’s used under 200 parts to build this mini motorbike, even with a working engine and steering included. Check it out on Eurobricks at the link above.

Ringdingding-da-ding-da-ding…

Lego Cute Motorbike

We’re pretty sure that the Crazy Frog ranks amongst mankind’s greatest evils ever unleashed upon society. Despite the fact that this creation reminded us of that hated amphibian it is rather good and thus deserves its place here. Karf Oohlu is the builder and you can see more on Flickr.

Easy Vader

Lego Darth Vader Motorbike

Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darth’s gonna make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

Softly Softly

Lego Soft Tail Chopper

Over to Eurobricks now, where Jonsson has published his excellent Technic soft-tailed chopper, as suggested to us by a reader. Featuring a working V-Twin engine and of course some spongy suspension, Jonsson’s bike a lesson in less-is-more. See all the photos at the Eurobricks discussion here.

You can check if your suggestion meets The Lego Car Blog’s criteria by reading our Submission Guidelines.

Nice Rack

Lego Biker Chick

Following this week’s Massive Erection and in keeping with The Lego Car Blog’s Equal Opportunities Policy it was only fair we posted something equally childish targeting the female form. See more of Filip Gabryel‘s ‘Sexy Mechanic’ on Flickr.

AKIRA

Lego Akira Kaneda Bike

This beautifully slick creation is a product of the incredibly talented Arvo Brothers. Based on the AKIRA manga work of Katsuhiro Otomo, Kaneda’s bike is a stunning design in 2D, and looks even more spectacular with an additional dimension. Arvo Brothers’ Lego version of the Manga design is to be detailed in their new book, with explanations of how to build it and decals included. Read more at the brothers’ Flickr page here.

Don’t Upset the Rhythm

Lego Akira Tetsuo

Based on the vehicles from the film ‘Akira’, F@bz‘ Mitsubishi Rhythm bike is a vision of a future we’re quite looking forward to. See all the photos at the link above.

Hump Day Motorcycle Special

Lego Motorbike Harley Davidson

The Elves are fiercely competitive creatures. They have to be, otherwise they won’t win any food tokens from TLCB staff. Whilst this occasionally leads to fights/riots, it can also lead to a bumper haul of similar creations. Today is one such event, so here’s our Mid-Week Motorcycle Special!

First up is BricksonWheels’ magnificent Harley Davidson, available to view on Flickr and MOCpages. This black ‘n chrome ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Street Glide continues BricksonWheels’ recent run of motorcycles, and you can check out its predecessors by using the Search function at the foot of this page.

Lego Motorbike Fat PigThe second creation in today’s special swaps chrome for Technic and was discovered by a lucky Elf on MOCpages. Bernhard Mollema‘s motorcycle, nicknamed ‘Fat Pig’*, puts the awesome wheels from the 8448 Supercar set to a great new use. Check it out at the link above.

Lego Motorbike Hard TailThe final creation in this Hump Day Special was suggested to us by one of our readers via the Feedback page. This mean looking Hard Tail, nicknamed ‘Widowmaker’ (it seems you can’t build a motorbike without giving it a name!) is the work of Jonsson on the Eurobricks forum. See the pictures and join in the discussion at the link, and if you’d like to suggest a creation take a look at our Submission Guidelines here.

*Your Mom.

Mr. Spock

Lego Motorbike Kawasaki Vulcan Niether we nor the Elves like Star Trek (there are no cars in it). Accordingly we know virtually nothing about it other than there was an amusingly Scottish bloke called – imaginatively – Scotty, and another bloke with pointy ears who was a Vulcan, whatever one of those is. So, armed with this singular fact and a Kawasaki Vulcan motorbike by LegoMarat, we came up with the title above.

Since we’ve now exhausted our knowledge of sci-fi shows we’ll move on to the bike, which is so brilliant we weren’t sure it was Lego at first. But it is, coming complete with chromed wheels and shocks, a beautifully detailed engine, and probably the best handlebars ever made from Lego. Check it out on Flickr via the link above, and you can read TLCB’s other articles featuring LegoMarat’s work via the search function at the bottom of the page.

Two’s Company

Lego Space Scooter VespaIt’s a sunny weekend here at TLCB Towers and because we want to go outside we’re going to double-up a post by rolling two two-wheeled finds together and pretending it was planned all along. First up is this spacey Vespa-ish scooter from Karf Oohlu on Flickr, on which the wheels might just be the cleverest things we’ve ever posted.

The second two-wheeled creation comes from fellow Flickr user – and a TLCB newcomer – Buster, who’s built the Segway from hell by combining the aforementioned Presidential wheels with what looks like a tank and an iPod. See more of each vehicle via the links above.

Lego Machine X Segway

Black Shadow

Lego MotorbikeThis vintage motorcycle comes from Kosmas Santosa on Flickr. Black is the new black.

Outlaw

Lego Motorbike

The Elves were a bit cross about this one. You see, it was submitted to us via the Feedback and Submission Suggestions page and so they’ve gone hungry today. Still, we opened up the cleaning cupboard at TLCB Towers and let them ride the mops around the office making ‘Bruuuurrm’ noises, so they do at least like the model in question. Called ‘Outlaw’ it’s been built by MOCpages’ Hot Rod and you can see it via the link.
