This strikingly-liveried aircraft is a Northrop F5-E Tiger supersonic fighter, and it looks really rather conspicuous indeed. Conspicuous is not what you want from a fighter of course, but whilst the F5-E was mostly designed to do battle against MiGs, it’s also used by the Patrouille Suisse aerobatic display team. Because what else do the Swiss need to do with a fighter jet?

Recreated here by previous bloggee Dornbi this brilliant brick-built Patrouille Suisse F5-E Tiger replicates the real aircraft’s livery in spectacular fashion, including the white ‘X’ on the bottom which we can’t even begin to fathom out. Head to Dornbi’s ‘F5-E Tiger’ album on Flickr to see if you can.

Panavia Tornado ECR - Tigermeet

We’re not sure why this Panavia Tornado ECR is wearing a tiger-stripe paint-job – if anything it’s more conspicuous – but we must admit that it looks ridiculously good. It’s the work of previous bloggee Kenneth Vaessen and you can see more at his photostream by clicking here.

Lego Harley Davidson

Two of our favourite builders are making an appearance here today; both have formed part of our ongoing interview series and their latest builds show why they were selected.

First up (above) is the most recent creation from the incredibly talented BricksonWheels, who is one of the builders in our Master MOCers series. His magnificent Harley Davidson lowrider shows what an amazing eye for detail, and access to a chroming machine, can do! Today’s second creation comes from fellow interviewee, and published author, Sariel. Lego Tiger Tank

Today’s amazing creation comes from one of the best Lego builders in the world, the brilliant Sariel. Sariel has featured here a few times over the years (use the Search function at the bottom of the page to see his previous works), and this might be his most impressively engineered creation yet.

It’s a Second World War German Tiger tank, and it’s had a lot stuffed inside it.** Underneath the beautifully recreated armour are no less than nine(!) LEGO motors, powering the drive, skid steer, barrel, machine gun, V12 piston engine and a whole lot more besides. All this rides on some remarkable oscillating suspended tracks that allow the Tiger to float over obstacles.

Lego Sunbeam Tiger

This gorgeous classic sports car is the work of Senator Chinchilla on MOCpages. It’s a Sunbeam Tiger which, much like the far more famous AC Cobra, is a light British sports car with a huge American Ford V8 squeezed under the hood.

Unlike the AC Ace, on which the Cobra was based, the beautiful Sunbeam Alpine base-car was a success in it’s own right – far more so than the V8 Tiger version. Sadly Roots, Sunbeam’s parent company, were bought by Chrysler in 1967, who couldn’t allow a Ford V8-engined car to continue in the range, and thus killed it off (before killing the whole company off too…).

The Senator’s Model Team version features opening doors, hood and trunk, and has the most important Tiger feature of all; a working V8. See more at the link above.
