Lego Space Tank

Things appear to be getting serious in Classic Space. Gone are the days of smiling spacemen conducting peaceful exploration for purposes that no-one ever quite fathomed, today’s classic spaceman is smiling for a whole different reason; he has a really big gun. This slightly Great War-esque space tank comes from TLCB favourite Norton74, who has branched out from his usual impeccable hot rod and truck builds in order to arm LEGO Space’s nice guys. His ‘Blue Bull’ space tank comes complete with a crew of three, a support team, and a nifty looking (and very blue) hangar. Lego Ford T-Bucket Hot Rod

Green tea is just like regular tea, only worse in every way. Norton74‘s green T-Bucket though, looks damn tasty. It’s based on a ’23 Ford Model-T, powered by a huge V8 engine, and it most likely handles like dodgem on ice. But when it looks this good who cares about the corners? Lego Garage Hot Rod

This is a neat Town garage scene was found on Flickr today. Eric Teo has built all the tools and equipment you could need, plus a very cool looking hot rod, in his 32×32 diorama. The mini-figures look a bit on the small side though – perhaps Eric’s build finally provides the answer for the universally useless Jack Stone figures. Those were dark days eh LEGO?… Anyway, you can see more of the vertically-challenged mechanics and their excellent garage backdrop at the link above.

Lego '32 Ford Hot Rod

This absolutely stunning ’32 Ford Roadster hot rod was discovered by one of our Elves on Flickr. It’s been built by previous bloggee Andrea Lattanzio aka Norton74, and it’s quite incredibly beautiful.

Lego Hot Rod Garage

Based on a ’32 Ford Model-B body and fitted with a flathead V8, Andrea’s creation is typical of the early hot rods of Bonneville racing. He’s also included a photo of the car in his wonderful previously featured workshop, complete with superbly recreated (although slightly more modern) tools and garage equipment.

Lego Vespa Scooter Workshop

We’re basically larger, hairier children here at TLCB Towers, and as such we usually post vehicles with a million horsepower, or guns, or racing stripes. And if possible with all three. Today though we’re posting something surprisingly small*, and possibly even a little elegant – the infamous classic Vespa scooter.

Flickr’s Norton74 has appeared here several times before, more recently with his beautiful Volkswagen garage. He’s now re-purposed this previous build to replicate his own Officina Super Sprint Vespa Workshop that he owns in real-life, and it’s possibly even more lovely than before. One of his Volkswagen Transporters even makes a re-appearance too.

Lego VW Transporter Workshop

It’s not often that we see a Lego recreation of a vehicle in any state other than pristine condition. TLCB regular Norton74 has bucked this trend with a new addition to his brilliant previously blogged workshop – a fantastic bare metal Volkswagen Transporter shell. The shell itself is a neat idea, but it’s Norton’s superb garage tools which steal the show. You can see the image above – suggested to us by a reader – in full size on Flickr.

Garage 01

The first of two car maintenance related posts today comes from L@go, over on Flickr. It’s a reworking of the classic 361 Garage set from 1979. This version has been updated and expanded too, leaving loads of space for an interior packed with details.

There’s an oil spill on the floor, that looks just like the stain on the carpet in reception at The Lego Car Blog Towers. There’s also a very nicely built bench vice and what we hope is a sausage in a microwave. Higher up, you might spot a fume extraction system and the typical collection of junk and old car parts that you’ll find on the office roof of many workshop. Lego VW Transporter Garage

Today’s post is something a bit special. Andrea Lattanzio (aka Norton74) has appeared here at TLCB several times with his hugely impressive European trucks, and most recently with his beautiful adaptation of LEGO’s 10220 Volkswagen Camper. His modified 10220 repurposed the original set as a canvas covered pick-up for Volkswagen Service, and Andrea has now constructed a stunning workshop to compliment his original model.

Lego Garage WorkshopThe Lego Car Blog Elves haven’t found any decent cars today, so to keep them fed we’re diversifying slightly with this charming garage workshop scene from Flickr’s Konajra. More known for his huge ships, Konajra’s mini-figure scene is full of superb details. See if you can identify the four post lift, engine trolley, unpainted cab door, bench vice and, of course, the classic Henschel HS100 truck.
