TLCB’s historical accuracy is pretty flakey, but even we know this isn’t what Henry VIII used to get to whichever beheading event was on that week. This stupendous build is Ford Model A, nicknamed the ‘Tudor’ because it had two doors. Lots of cars probably had two doors at the time, but as 90% of all the cars on the roads were Fords, they got the ‘Tudor’ moniker. This one comes from TLCB favourite _Tiler, who has captured the late ’20s sedan wonderfully, constructing it atop a Fabuland old-timey chassis. Hail a ride in 1930’s New York via the link above!

TLCB Elves are grumpy today. Despite a slew of finds they missed this one, which we instead saw on The Brothers Brick. And they love Mad Max. We’re not sure they follow the plot, but stuff explodes quite regularly and that seems to please them.
Anyway, those of you with a keener eye will have noticed that something is amiss with Michael Kanemoto‘s rendition of the ‘V8 Interceptor’ from the movie, what with it being red and yellow and driven by a cartoon dog.
That’s because Michael’s ‘V8 Interceptor’ is part of a wider ‘Fab Max’ collaboration, mixing LEGO’s primary-coloured 1980s Fabuland theme with George Miller’s post-apocalyptic road movie, and in doing so creating a desolate wasteland inhabited by cute (but violent) anthropomorphic critters. Kinda like TLCB Towers.

Not our title, but the words of TLCB debutant Blair Archer (aka Slick_Bricks), who has taken Fabuland’s well-documenteddescent into violence and chaos to its ultimate conclusion. It’s enough to make you lose your head.
Slick’s ‘Doom Buggy’, part of a wider ‘Fab Max – Furry Road’ initiative, equips ‘I am the Walrus’ and his crew of cut-throat critters with a variety of weaponry, not least a tailgate-mounted guillotine for the removal of heads whilst on the road. Makes sense to us.

Fabuland, LEGO’s 1980s range of anthropomorphic animals (and frankly one of the weirder things the company has done) seems to have been hijacked of late, by builders intent on seeing the peaceful critters blow one another’s brains out (see here, here and here).
It’s refreshing therefore to see that there are still harmless, some would say pointless, gentle adventures underway in the Fabuland world, thanks to Pete Strege and his most excellent ‘Billy Goat’s Steam Boat’.
Of course The Lego Car Blog Elves are absolutely incensed by this lack of violence, and have left the office in disgust, so a side benefit is that we can now have harmless gentle adventures too. This TLCB Writer might even read a book.

Fabuland, one of LEGO’s frankly weirder themes, was not known for brutal war machines piloted by bloodthirsty critters. It was more about popping to the post office to say ‘hello’ to cheery Mr. Mole before planting some daisies in a window box. Not any more though.
Time has toughened the inhabitants of Fabuland, and today they are equipped with an array of terrifying machinery courtesy of Flickr’s Andreas Lenander, whose mind must be a very dark place indeed.
Here we have Buster Walrus and Felix Fox riding atop a gloriously cuboid tank fitted with what looks like a sperm gun. It probably isn’t. Whatever it is we’re pretty sure it’s deadly and there’s more to see at Andreas’ ‘Fabuwars’ album via the link above.

You may think the current trend for building smooth, studless creations requires LEGO’s newer smoother pieces, but TLCB favourite _Tiler proves that you get the look whilst going very old-school indeed.
_Tyler’s beautiful hot rod utilises a Fabuland roof (one of LEGO’s weirder past themes) combined with classic Town grey/white tyres, and they look absolutely resplendent here. You can see _Tiler’s latest build on Flickr – click the link above to step back in time.
Karwik, a builder of some beautifully unusual vehicles, is back with another two for your delectation. The tractor is a Mazur D-50, an odd enough vehicle on its own, but when fitted with a cable-operated-bucket-scoop-on-rails* it becomes easily one of the most bizarre construction vehicles we’ve seen.
