My Other Bird is a Horse

Nothing says ‘America’ like voter fraud apparently*. A close second however, is the Ford F-150 pick-up, especially in Raptor specification and with stars-and-stripes FORD lettering across the front.

This fantastic recreation of America’s favourite uprated off-road pick-up comes from Master MOCer and vehicle-building legend Firas Abu-Jaber, who has created it entirely from the parts found within the official 10265 Ford Mustang set.

Despite the limitations of its parts-base, Firas’ F-150 Raptor not only looks superb, it features working steering, opening doors, a functioning sunroof, a dropping tailgate, and a detailed engine underneath the opening hood.

There’s much more to see of Firas’ 10265 B-Model at his ‘Ford F150 Raptor’ album on Flickr, where around twenty stunning images are available to view.

You can also find building instructions for the Raptor available at Firas’ excellent new website Bricks Garage, where instructions for over a dozen of Firas’ builds are available for download, including a range of set alternates. Find out more here!

Rapid Raptor

Lego RC Ford Raptor Sariel

If you were wondering where we were before today’s posts, seeing as things had gone very quiet here at TLCB, let us explain. It’s all Sariel‘s fault.

This is his awesome remote control Ford Raptor Trophy Truck; a twin buggy Motor propelled, long-travel suspension Technic monster, with a 15km/h top speed.

A typical TLCB Elf cannot run at 15km/h. At least not for a sustained period. And thus, as has become standard practice in TLCB Towers, our Elves were duly mown down in the corridors by the delighted Elven pilot of Sariel’s machine.

So fast, nimble and tough is Sariel’s Raptor that almost every Elf in the office at the time became a road traffic accident statistic (if we ever bothered to record the casualties), before the driver finally lost control and crashed the Ford into the water cooler and alerted staff to the carnage.

With the victims mostly patched up and all the errant Elven body parts put into the food recycling tub we’ve been able to return to blogging today, so whilst we go through our mailbox and award Smarties to successful Elves (including the one responsible for today’s smushing), you can check out Sariel’s brilliant Ford Raptor Trophy Truck by clicking here, plus you can watch it in action courtesy of the excellent video below.

Octan Offroad

Lego Ford F150 Raptor

LEGO’s fictional petroleum company, Octan, have been around since 1992, with their ‘sponsorship’ appearing on all sorts of vehicles over that time. This Ford F150 Raptor in full off-road spec by Flickr’s Peter Blackert (aka Lego911) is one of our favourites to appear in a while, and the Octan sponsorship looks very at home. There’s more to see, including a few images of the Raptor in a brick-built desert landscape, via Peter’s photostream.

Remote Control Raptor

Ford’s Raptor is arguably the most hardcore production off-road pick-up truck on sale. For 2017 Ford are preparing  a new version, ditching the old V8 and replacing it with their new twin-turbo V6 as found in the Ford GT. No doubt some backwards-thinking rednecks will lament this update, but we’re all for it here at TLCB. Previous bloggee Rage Hobbit of MOCpages seems to be too, and he’s recreated the upcoming Raptor in monster RC Technic form.

With twin buggy motors driving a selectable 4×4 system through a 4-speed sequential gearbox, working steering, independent front and 4-link live axle rear suspension, opening (and locking) doors, hood and tailgate, plus a the 2017 Raptor’s Ecoboost V6 up front, Rage’s Raptor replica is one of the best off-roading Lego creations we’ve seen this year.

There’s lots more to see at Rage Hobbit’s MOCpage, including an extensive image gallery, full technical details and a video of model in action – click the link above to make the jump.
