nolnet on Flickr revisits the early ’80s with his Unimoged version of the classic Town set 6653. We think his rebooted version is much cooler than the original! See more of nolnet’s work by clicking the link above.

Black Fox
This tasty looking Technic off-roader was unearthed by the Elves on Brickshelf. Built by chumuhou1 it features LEGO’s excellent Power Fuctions XL motors and some truly monstrous suspension. It also looks pretty lightweight, which is rarity for Technic creations and will enhance its off-road ability compared to the usual heavyweight offerings we see. Visit chumuhou1’s Brickshelf gallery to see more of his ‘Black Fox’ MOC.
Technic 41999 Preview – New 4×4!
LEGO have added another new Technic model to their 2013 line-up! This brilliant blue muscle car monster truck was developed from the winning submission in LEGO’s ‘You design it, we make it!‘ competition held at the start of the year.
Receiving the most votes out of the 10 finalists, Egor Karshiev’s Boss Crawler has evolved into set no. 41999, and comes in a fantastic new blue hue. Underneath the muscle car bodywork sits the chassis from the 2012 4×4 Crawler set 9398, and we think it’s even better looking than the original.
Too see full details of the new set visit the LEGO Technic Designers Blog, and look out for the arrival of 41999 in stores soon!
Rock Crawlin’
LEGO’s own 4×4 Rock Crawler 9398 (previously revealed here on TLCB) is a thing of, well – not beauty, but engineering excellence. However Lego fans have been rock crawling for far longer than LEGO, so it’s time to feature another fan-made 4×4, this time from Martin H on MOCpages.
Complete with the usual array of Power Functions motors and remote control receivers, Martin’s off-roader also features some huge shocks and balloon tyres to help when the going gets rough. See more, including a video, at the link above.
Yippee-Ki-Yay
Dartz, the Latvian-based manufacturer for the rich and tasteless, were the perfect choice for the latest Die Hard movie. Gone were the subtleties of the superb 1988 original, replaced in A Good Day To Die Hard by explosions, car crashes, explosions and a few more explosions.
rabidnovaracer did seem to enjoy the cynical fifth installment of the franchise though, and has created the star vehicle from the movie with a huge bucket of grey bricks. The Dartz Kombat features a 1000bhp V8, armour plating, an interior made out of many many dead animals, and – if you’re a lady – a limited edition vibrator. No we’re not making that up.
See more on Flickr (where we wonder just how much of the above detail rabidnovaracer has included…).
Blue Whale
This incredible model is the work of Rolands Kirpis, aka Rolic, on Flickr. One of the most detailed cars we’ve ever featured, Rolands’ Jeep Grand Cherokee comes complete with a full tan interior, V8 under the hood, and opening everything. It’s just a shame it’s a replica of such a rubbish car (cue a load of comments from angry Americans). Still, the new Cherokee is getting surprisingly good reviews in Europe, so there’s hope for Jeep yet. See more of the old model in Lego form on Flickr.
Beast from Baja
Pipasseyoyo returns with this bright Baja Truck. With a big V8 and full suspension it’s ready for some desert punishment. See more on Brickshelf.
Pikes Peak
Renualt are in big trouble in Europe. Years of making technologically advanced but shoddily built cars, combined with the ongoing Financial Crisis, have left the company hemorrhaging cash.
And yet… their once poor relation, which started making Renault knock-offs in Romania (with even worse build quality than the French managed, which is quite something) is starting to come good. Dacia, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Renualt, are expanding away from their Eastern European roots and giving the big brands a bit of headache. Their cars are so cheap that there’s nothing to drop off, and the good stuff from Renualt (engines and gearboxes) remains.
To publicize their expansion Dacia have done what any good car manufacturer does; built a ridiculous race car and made it look a bit like a car you can buy in the showroom. Their Duster Pikes Peak racer is a formidable machine, and it’s been faithfully recreated in Lego by Eric Mohier. Eric submitted his model to TLCB himself, using our Feedback and Submission Suggestions, and now he’s on the blog front-page! See, we do read your comments!
Like A Mountain Goat
This stunning shot comes courtesy of The Brothers Merz on Flickr. Their ‘Squad All-Terrain Reconnaissance Vehicle’, nicknamed ‘Goat’ looks ultra cool against the harsh rocky backdrop. To see more of their Lego models, and incredible their photography, check out their photostream here.
It’s That German Off Road Truck Again…
You know the one, first made in Lego Technic in 1981 and 1,000 times since. Still, this Unimog, by Dikkie Klijn of MOCpages, is well worth a look. It has more and better features than the 8110 set and it’s half the size. Elf size, in fact, which might be why they like it so much.
Vote for the NEW Technic 4×4!
It’s the Grand Final of LEGO’s ‘You Design It, We Make It’ competition! Fans have been uploading their versions of the 9398 4X4 Crawler for the past few weeks, and we’re now down to the final 10! The winning creation will be turned into a new official LEGO Technic set. Make your vote count:

9398 II
One of the stars of 2012 was LEGO’s own 9398 4×4 Crawler, in which Power Functions are put to their best use ever; Truck Trial Off-Roading. LEGO have since been running a competition to re-body their 4×4 Crawler chassis, with views to making a spin-off set. One of our Elves found this splendid example on Brickshelf. Jerryp has gone for an A-Team-ish flavour with his 4×4 Recovery Van, complete with a working remote control butterfly under-lift in addition to the standard Power Functions 4×4 drivetrain. See the full gallery at Jerry’s Brickshelf page.
Defender
This brilliant looking Land Rover Defender is the work of Yang Nam on MOCpages. Not only is it equipped with all the lights, bars and winches required for serious off-roading on the outside, underneath Yang has fitted working all round suspension and steering. Check it out at the link.
Revelation
Halloween may have passed but the Elves are still feeling a bit spooky, and thus one returned to the office carrying this, Proudlove‘s Mitsubishi Pick-Up ‘Famine’. Proudlove’s preceding creation was entitled ‘War’, so expect a few more Horseman of the Apocalypse to come.
Happy Halloween!
Halloween approacheth, and in recognition of one of the weirder annual celebrations we bring you this ghostly creation from Marin Stipkovic on MOCpages. Underneath the Flinstone-esque bones is a fully working Truck Trial chassis, powered by the blood from bats and piloted by the undead (probably). Check it out here.
