Only Two More Sleeps!

There are only two more sleeps ’til Christmas! Which means we’re locking the doors to TLCB Towers, frantically buying presents we forgot about, and readying ourselves for drunken family arguments.

We’ll be back in a few days, but if you need to get your Lego fix in the meantime, you can find a few places that are open all-year-round below!

  • All our past posts are available in the Archives, where you can search for pretty much anything and something will probably turn up.
  • Our Review Library contains over one-hundred LEGO set, book, and third-party product reviews.
  • The world’s best Lego vehicle builders have been interviewed right here at TLCB! (Incriminating pictures work wonders for motivation.) Find them all by clicking here!
  • Proper Lego blogs, and a lot more besides, can be found in the Directory.

We’d recommend switching off from the internet for the festive period though. The important things will be much closer to home : )

Have a very Merry Christmas

TLCB Team

P.S. The amusing image used above comes courtesy of previous bloggee Sylon_tw, who has captured Santa a very long way from home (that, or the penguins are). Fingers crossed he can get his sleigh going again before tomorrow night!

Ho-Ho-Ho

Don’t worry kids, that’s not the real Santa. But the title still applies, and we expect his ‘elf’ is definitely going to do some stuff on the Naughty List.

Lasse Deleuran owns the mind behind this, er… Christmassy scene, and there’s more to see of ‘Santa’, his ‘elf’, and the mobility scooter upon which he’s riding on Flickr. Ho-ho-ho!

Driving Home for Christmas

No tenuous links to Christmas are needed for this post! Versteinert’s classic station wagon entitled ‘Ready for Christmas’ includes a (brilliant) Christmas tree, a boot full of presents, and Saint Nicholas himself at the wheel! Ingenious parts usage is in abundance and you can check out Santa’s station wagon in more detail at both Flickr and Eurobricks.

It’s Christmaaaas!

It’s just two more sleeps ’til Christmas! TLCB Elves have been returned to their cages and the office is now empty, save for this writer, a stack of empty bottles from the Christmas Party awaiting recycling, and the lingering regrets that accompany them.

We’ll be back next week after several days getting drunk, er… we mean ‘spending precious time with loved ones’. Until then we wish you a very Merry Christmas, and to know the joy and love of a refugee born in occupied lands two thousand years ago.

Santa-Charged

We already know Father Christmas is a pretty cool dude. He owns an array of machinery (according to you lot), from hot rods to hover cars, and Supras to snowmobiles, and now it’s the turn of Santa’s sleigh to get an upgrade. Flickr’s tony bovkoon has given Saint Nick’s flying present distribution system a lot more attitude, courtesy of a side-piped Dodge Challenger! We’re not sure what the V8 behind those side pipes is for, seeing as there is no way for any of its power to get to the snow, but it sure looks cool. Head to Tony’s album on Flickr to take a look!

Ho-Ho-Hot-Rod

Santa is a pretty rad dude, rockin’ a mega beard, some wicked bling (bells), and owning very probably the fastest vehicle ever made (a sleigh that can get everywhere in one night!). It’s no surprise to see that in his down time he likes to kick-back with a properly cool whip, in this case a gloriously festive hot rod complete with a red nose radiator emblem. Flickr’s ianying616 is the builder behind it and there’s more to see at his photostream here!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

And he’s got himself a sweet hover-car hot rod to do it in! This present-laden ride is the work of Sylon-tw who’s giving Saint Nick’s reindeer the night off. Send Santa your list via the link above!

Have a Supra Christmas!

Lego Toyota Supra

We all know Santa Claus is a pretty cool dude. Magical reindeer, flight, possible time travel, and a philanthropist too, we thought Father Christmas couldn’t get any cooler, but if this image is to be believed, he’s just managed it!

Driving a Mark 4 Toyota Supra is a sure-fire way to earn extra Cool Points, and thanks to Simon Przepiorka of Flickr, Saint Nick’s been pictured behind the wheel of Japan’s most iconic sports car (complete with a red nose, antlers, and a Christmas tree strapped to the roof!).

Head over to Simon’s photostream via the link above to see more of Kris Kringle’s whip, and you can see the Supra’s original posting here at TLCB by clicking here.

Hot Sled

Lego Santa Hot Rod

We’re back! After a few days getting drunk helping the less fortunate, TLCB Team are back in the crumbling ruin that is TLCB Towers. With the Elves re-released (and very hungry) we can expect them to return with finds soon, but in the meantime here’s one of your suggestions. Built by Andreas Lattanzio, Father Christmas is already back in the North Pole getting ready for next year in style, using a hot rodded sleigh to traverse the frozen polar landscape. There’s more to see of this neat mini-figure scale scene on Flickr – click the link above to make the jump.

It’s Christmaaas!

Lego Santa Spaceship

The detritus from office Christmas party has been tidied away (although the regret still lingers), The Lego Car Blog Elves have been re-captured and returned to their cages, and we’re about to turn the lights out here at TLCB Towers.

Before we go here’s one final festive creation, revealing that Santa is moving with times to keep up with increasing Christmas demands. Rod Gillies has equipped Saint Nic with his own present-delivering spaceship, allowing the Reindeer to relax this festive season. There’s more to see of Santa’s hangar on the night before Christmas (complete with Elves that look nothing like ours) by clicking here, we wish you the very merriest of Christmases, and we’ll see you soon.

Christmas Convertible

Lego Santa Roadster

It’s not quite the festive season yet, but as we hate Cyber Monday almost as much as we do Black Friday we’re willing to come a little early to avoid the frenzied consumerism. Anyhoo, Santa and his Elves (which, make no mistake, are a very different sub-species to ours) are about to enter their busiest month, so Saint Nic is having one last wild party before the hard work begins.

Father Christmas’s parties are world-renowned, and this one involves a sports car, a polar bear, a reindeer, and an anthropomorphic lump of snow, so it easily beats the last party we had here at TLCB Towers which involved little more than sausage rolls, cheap beer and regret.

LEGO 7 is the doorman at Santa’s shindig and you can see if your name is on the list to get in courtesy of his photostream – click the link above and cross your fingers.

It’s Christmaaaaaas!

Lego Santa Sleigh Mech

Presents are being wrapped, Santa is checking his list twice, and we’re about to spend the next few days getting drunk. So as we wind things down here for our usual Christmas break we have one last creation to share, Sariel‘s slightly terrifying mechanised-reindeer propelled sleigh. Watch it in action via the link above, have a very Merry Christmas, and we’ll see you all soon!

Kidnap the Sandy Claws…

Lego The Nightmare Before Christmas

…beat him with a stick. Lock him up for fifty years, see what makes him tick! Jack Skellington is filling in for an absent Santa, and things are a lot less jolly. Flickr’s César Soares is the builder behind this scary Saint Nick, and there’s more to see at his photostream via the link above.

Merry Christmas!

Lego Santa Claus

It’s only three more sleeps ’til Christmas! Memories/regrets from TLCB Christmas Party are still (unfortunately) strongly etched into our conscious, TLCB Elves have been gathered up and returned to their cages, and the office is now hauntingly quiet – save for the click-clacking of this writer’s keyboard echoing out into the emptiness.

We’ll be back in a few days to continue bringing you the very best Lego vehicles that the web has to offer, until then – from all of us here at TLCB – have a very Merry Christmas!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

Lego Santa's Hot Rod

He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice, he’s got a hot rod for crossing the ice, Santa Claus is coming to town!

When Santa isn’t commanding his magic sleigh he’s still got to get around, and – looking as he does like the missing member of ZZ Top – we think he’s probably got a pretty cool ride.

Previous bloggee sm 01 thinks so too, and he’s built Mr. Claus the perfect vehicle for a rockin’ journey across the frozen wastes of the North Pole. You can see more of Santa’s Hot Rod on Flickr at the link above.
