They’ve Saved the Best Trip For Last…

Lego Back to the Future Part IIIBut this time they may have gone too far.

In 1990’s final* instalment of the superb Back to the Future franchise the ageing DeLorean needed a little help in hitting 88mph. Flickr’s Irwan Prabowo – making his TLCB debut – has recreated the famous Back to the Future Part III movie ending sequence wonderfully in micro-scale. You can see more of Irwan’s mini DeLorean time machine and the 1885 steam locomotive pushing it at his photostream via the link above.

Humping

Lego VTOL Camel

It’s a spacey day here at TLCB. Although today’s final publicised creation looks quite atmospheric, it’s definitely in the ‘weird sci-fi’ category of Lego building.

Built by David Roberts this is a micro-scale VTOL freight transport, nicknamed ‘The Camel’ due to its magnificent hump. Or because it humps (carries) things. Or maybe because it looks like it’s… er, humping things, if you know what we mean…

You can see more of the airborne amorous dromedary on either MOCpages or Flickr, and we’ll see you next time for some normal car-based* postings.

Space Race

Lego Micro GARC

The racing-livery theme of the last few days continues, only this time we’re looking far into the future, where the Galactic Asteroid Rally Circuit (GARC) is the new number one motorsport. First up (above) is 4estFeller‘s Micro GARC, complete with Pirelli decals. No, we don’t know why either, but it looks damn cool! Our second entrant from Flickr’s GARC group is the work of Simon Liu aka Si-MOCs (below), which features some ace-looking day-glo speed lines. See more of both builds and the GARC group that spawned them via the links.

All Tippers Great And Small

Lego Tipper Trucks

Because one is never enough, MOCpages’ Nick Barrett has built a small army of tipper trucks ranging from Technic to micro. Each features a variety of working functions (well, except the last one), and all are available to view at Nick’s MOCpage here.

Tiny Trio

3-Monster-Trucks

Whilst they do like fully functioning Technic supercars, big brick-built aircraft and especially working Transformers, our Elves’ tiny minds are also attracted to skillfully crafted small builds. Swedish builder LegoJalex has used a handful of bricks to produce three super little trucks. The Elves’ favourite is the red one, as they can squash nearly 4½ Elves into the back of it. You can count just how many bricks LegoJalex has used by clicking this link to Flickr.

If you’re a builder who doesn’t own thousands of bricks, check out our Creation Criteria and then fire up your imagination. You never know, the Elves might pay you visit.

To Boldly Go

Lego USS EnterpriseThis magnificent micro-scale USS Enterprise CVN-65 is the work of Locutus aka primanota82 and was suggested to us via the Feedback page. As well as being the most nerdy spaceship ever, the USS Enterprise was the first nuclear powered warship and is still the longest ship in the US Navy. Commissioned in the 1960s the Enterprise was retired last year to be replaced by the Nimitz-Class carriers, currently readying for the assault on Syria. Locutus’ 1/350 scale version comes complete with a variety of miniature aircraft, including Phantoms, Tomcats and Corsairs. Identify them all via the links above.

Wheels of Gold

Lego TrainThis miniature steam train by Flickr’s Mark of Falworth has the most bitchin’ rims of any creation we’ve featured yet. Rappers take note.

Little Wonders

Ford A 500w

In contrast to Doc Brown’s Technic Ford Tudor, which we featured yesterday, comes 1saac W.’s tiny Model A hot rod, also from 1932. You can see more of Issac’s cars, including his Dodge Polara Police car which we featured recently, on his Flickr photostream.

In the meantime some of the Elves have been looking a bit malnourished recently. The doctors suggested more oranges in their diet, so here’s the result. This mini monster truck is the work of LEGOLIZE IT MAN, on Flickr, who’s better known for his stylish spacecraft, with accompanying concept artwork. As well as a colour scheme and graphics similar to some of his spaceships, this little car features multiple stud angles and a pair of lightsabers as axles, attached to a chunky propshaft. See more at the link.

Tiny Tank

Tiny Tank 02
The tiny minds of the TLCB Elves are often attracted to tiny things. This small, clean, fun build is the work of The Digster on MOCpages.

Awesome in Miniature

Mini Awesomeness

We’ve seen planes in a lot of sizes around, but this micro EP-5 looks bigger than you would expect. The fact there’s a hangar and a runway in the same scale makes it twice as nice. General Electric is the creator, visit his MOCpage to see this plane.

Queen Vic

Lego Space Station VictoriaLEGOLIZE IT MAN’s micro-scale ‘Victoria’ Space Station adds a dose of sci-fi to The Lego Car Blog to round off the week. See more of his work at his photostream here.

Red Letter Day

Lego Hot Rod and TractorA double post today, to stop the two Elves that found these fighting over who gets their find published first. On the left we have Fredoichi‘s ‘MicRod’ (Micro Hot Rod), which seems to find a use for all those fiddly little parts that we can never be bothered with. On the right is Thietmaier‘s Tractor, which he rather accurately describes as ‘small, red, and a little ugly’. Swap the colour and it describes the Elf that found it too. See more of both creations on Flickr.

Teenage Micro Ninja Turtles

Lego Teenage Mutant NinjaTurtlesoLaf is back, and he’s brought some little green adolescent crime fighters with him. The TMNT franchise always annoyed us slightly. They’re not turtles. They’re tortoises. It’s a different animal people! Anyway, see more of oLaF’s micro-scale VW ‘Turtle’ Van on Flickr.

Micro-Scale Master

Lego Refuse Truck

Small. And utterly brilliant.

We don’t often blog two creations by the same builder in one week, but when they look like this we felt we couldn’t ignore them. oLaF-LM is the genius behind this minute refuse truck, which follows on from his spectacular articulated truck blogged earlier in the week. See more here.

Tiny Truck

Lego Microscale Truck

Two studs wide, with the detail of six

We don’t get many micro-scale MOCs coming into the office. Mostly this is because the Elves have tiny child-like brains and tend to find models with big wheels and racing stripes and suchlike. But one did return with this today; a magnificent articulated lorry in miniature. oLaF-LM has squeezed a remarkable amount of detail into his two-wide creation, right down to the legs for the trailer. See more on Flickr.
