Farm Fresh

We don’t usually know what’s in the back of a truck, but we do today thanks to those tell-tale openings. Delicious animals, that’s what.

But if you’re vegan don’t worry, today’s other post will be for you. Until then we’re off to have a steak, lamb shank, or rack of ribs courtesy of Arian Janssens’ splendid DAF FA XD livestock truck, and you can join us for dinner via the link.

A Good Tipper

Anyone that’s worked in the restaurant industry likes a good tipper. Particularly in America, where in many states the minimum wage can be set below the legal amount so that tips make up the difference. Which means that they aren’t tips at all, but rather subsiding corporate greed. Sigh. Sometimes America sucks.

Still, in Europe tips are tips, paid on top of a minimum wage, and thus today we have a good European tipper; a Mercedes-Benz Arocs 4143 8×4. Constructed by regular bloggee Keko007, the Arocs is very detailed indeed considering the small scale, and it can really tip too.

There’s more to see Keko’s ‘Mercedes Arocs 4143 8×4’ Flickr album, and you can make the waitress’s day / subsidise their wages because your tip in fact goes to the owner via the link above.

Goths in the Box

This splendid ‘GothCorp’ box truck was found on Flickr today, and comes from TLCB debutant Auto’s Builds. Excellent detailing abounds, amongst which is a refrigerator unit above the cab, allowing the goths in transit to arrive in perfectly fresh condition.

We’re not sure why goths need to be refrigerated though, seeing as they can wear a black leather coat on even the hottest of days without issue, but mopey British subcultures are way outside of this writer’s knowledge.

There’s more to see of Auto’s creation at their ‘GothCorp Box Truck’ album, where you can join the goths on-route to sulking at the local cemetery. Unless the truck is delivering something else entirely of course and our goth narrative is total nonsense. Click the link above to find out…

Gray Giant

The monochrome vibe continues at The Lego Car Blog today with this, Lucio Switch’s immense European heavy-duty truck.

Lucio’s creation is amongst the most visually lifelike of any Technic models we’ve featured, assisted by the enormity of its scale, and is packed with working functionality. This includes a tilting and sprung cab and opening engine access panel, motorised remote control, and a pneumatically raising/lowering second axle, with air pressure built via an on-board compressor.

It’s a hugely impressive (and hugely sized) creation, and one that’s presented to perfection, with over twenty stunning images available to view at Lucio’s ‘Heavy Duty Tractor Truck’ album on Flickr. Join us there via the link above.

Highline

It’s time for a truck here at The Lego Car Blog, because we’re not just about cars. This is a Scania Highline and Schmitz Cargobull tipper trailer, as excellently constructed by previous bloggee Keko007. Clever SNOT techniques and a functioning tipper mechanism feature and you can see more at Keko’s ‘Scania Highline 4×2 2020 & Schmitz Cargobull Tipper Semitrailer’ album via the link above.

Tanked Up

We’re not sure what’s inside Arian Janssens’ excellent classic DAF FT 2800 truck and tanker trailer but – as is always the case with such posts – we hope it’s beer. Or wine. Or anything alcoholic in fact. Yeah, well… you try and work with mythical creatures for a job. Arian’s creation is perfectly hopped, and you can have a taste at his ‘DAF FT 2800’ album whilst this TLCB Writer tries to find some alcohol in the office that isn’t in a hand-sanitiser.

The Manliest Thing You Can Do In A Truck

You. Yes you, the owner of the full-size V8-powered pick-up truck with the MAGA bumper sticker used to carry nothing more than yourself and your handgun. What are you compensating for? If you want to prove yourself a real man you want to get yourself one of these. Because navigating a 170cc Piaggio Ape Pentaro up a winding cobbled Italian street pulling half-a-ton of oranges is the most skilful thing you can do in a vehicle. Unless this happens of course. Dariusz Sedziak is the man behind this one and you can see more here.

Dump Your Horse

Revealed here earlier in the year, LEGO’s 42213 Technic Ford Bronco brings the blue oval’s newest, but retro-est, 4×4 to bedroom floors everywhere. It also provides just under a thousand pieces for B-Model building, with previous bloggee damianPLE doing just that, by turning his Bronco into this excellent Technic off-road dump truck.

Like the set on which it’s based, Damian’s alternate includes working suspension, ‘HOG’ steering, and a V6 engine under an opening hood, whilst adding a manually operable tipper too. Building instructions are available and you can find all the images, plus that instructional link, at Bricksafe and Eurobricks respectively. Dump your horse via the links above!

Got Milk?

Keko007 does. Well, his excellent DAF XF 530 Superspace and Willig Sanz Tunker trailer could actually be transporting one of any number of liquids, but it looks pretty milky to us. Pour it on your cereal at Keko’s photostream via the link above, although TLCB cannot be held responsible if it turns out to be industrial cleaner.

Meandering the Medina

Sometimes it’s all about the shot. Photographed by Erik Frobom and built by Michael Willhoit this fantastic image captures a delightfully overloaded classic truck under an archway in ‘Medina Al Musawrah’, an enormous multi-maker collaborative display constructed for the Brickfair VA show.

A huge array of vehicles and buildings comprise the complete build, including the beautiful scene below, and you can take wander through the streets of ‘Al Musawrah’ at Michael’s Flickr album via the link above.

Motorway Furniture

Well this is a common sight for all of our European readers. The most nondescript of trucks, in the most nondescript of liveries, on its way to collect a nondescript load from a nondescript regional distribution centre. European motoring doesn’t get any more mundane than this. Flickr’s Arian Janssens is the creator of this excellent DAF XG+, and he’s constructed a mighty (and rather interesting) trailer to go with it. But that doesn’t fit the narrative we’re trying to weave, so you’ll have to look at it at Arian’s Flickr album. Head there via the link above!

Jack of All Trades

The Mercedes-Benz Unimog is not, technically, a truck. It is in fact a universal tractor, with literally dozens of different applications. Which probably explains why dozens of different Unimogs have appeared here to date. Today we can add one more, a 1980s Unimog U1400 Agrar courtesy of Sseven Bricks of Flickr. A front PTO allows any number of tools to be added in front of the cab, whilst a big cage behind it means any number can be added at the back too. There’s more of Sseven’s model to see on Flickr and you can take a closer look via the link above.

Chinese Six

We’re not sure why trucks with two axles at the front and one at the back are known as ‘Chinese Sixes’. Probably something to do with casual racism. We won’t delve any further then, but we will highlight this splendid example by prolific DAF-builder Arian Janssens.

A DAF FAB 2500 DHS, Arian’s beautifully detailed model captures the classic truck in its unusual ‘Chinese Six’ configuration brilliantly, and includes a folded crane behind the cab and a drawbar trailer in tow too.

Excellent presentation compliments the model’s stunning realism and there’s lots more of the build to see at Arian’s ‘DAF FAB 2500 DHS (Chinese Six)’ album. Take a closer look via the link.

Picking Cherries

Cherry pickers seem to rarely pick actual cherries. Fixing telephone wires, street lamps, and lopping trees sure, but cherries no.

Cue Ralph Savelsberg and this excellent mini-figure scale Mercedes-Benz Unimog, complete with a rear mounted hoist able to elevate and rotate to pick the juiciest cherries. Or fix a rural community’s broadband after a storm. But whatever.

There’s more to see at Ralph’s Flickr album and you can take a look via the link above whilst this TLCB Writer heads to the fridge in search of fruit…

And Now For Something Completely Different…

Um… well this is… Ok, it’s a… well there’s a school bus, and a Metroliner, and a truck atop a V10 boat engine, and, um…  Perhaps it’s just best if you visit Renuad Petit Lego‘s Flickr album. There’s no explanation there either, but it’s probably better that way.
