Bronco-ish

Lego Trial Truck 4x4

Today’s creation comes from serial bloggee paave, who has inadvertently built a Ford Bronco. His generic truck trial 4×4 has ended up very Bronco-ish, which is not bad thing, and it features a wealth of off-road goodies to help it navigate the devious obstacles of the recent St. Petersburg Lego truck trial competition.

All-wheel-drive and leaf-sprung front / coil-sprung rear suspension each with panhard rods are teamed with remote control drive and steering via LEGO’s own Power Functions infrared system. It’s a simple set-up that works remarkably well, just like the best real-world off-roaders.

There’s more to see of paave’s Bronco-ish 4×4 trial truck on Brickshelf and you can watch the model in action in the St. Petersburg trial courtesy of Eurobricks – click the links to take a look.

Am I Pleased to See You…

Lego Ford Bronco 4x4

Or did I just put a canoe in my pocket! Sorry about that, we’re feeling a bit weird today. No matter, this 1970s Ford Bronco, complete with roof mounted canoe, looks just the thing for a weekend in the bush. And look at how much wood it’s got! Lino Martins is the builder behind it and there’s more to see at his photostream – click here to get wet and dirty.

Iconic

Lego Icon Ford Bronco

Newcomer Paul Kim makes his TLCB debut with his wonderful replica of Icon’s Ford Bronco. The geniuses at the Icon resto-modifying company take classic American 4x4s and refit them for the modern world, with the latest engines, suspension, brakes, electrics and interior components. Classic looks + modern engineering = win.

Paul’s Lego version is built in the same spirit, with a gorgeous Model Team style body mounted over some proper Technic hardware. You can check out all the images of the Bronco on both MOCpages and Flickr.

Old-Skool Off-Roading

Bronco

Before bling: 1966 Bronco

The MOCpages Elves are feeling festive (well, they are Elves) and have been desperately trying to find a sleigh or snowmobile for The Lego Car Blog to feature over Christmas. This, whilst not a sleigh or snowmobile, is at least red and white, so we can pretend it’s Santa’s summer holiday transport. Dylan Denton over on Flickr (and MOCpages too) is the creator – and it’s worth a look for the SNOT work on the front alone!
