Lego Datsun 240Z

Flickr’s _Tiler could have his own page here at TLCB, so regularly does he appear. His latest build is a model that we want so much it hurts. His brilliant wide-arched Datsun 240Z shows you don’t need to build big to build special. You can see more of _Tiler’s 6-wide masterpiece at his photostream – click the link above to make the jump.

Lego Datsun Fairlady Z

This gorgeous Datsun Fairlady / 240Z was discovered by one of our Elves on Flickr. It’s the work of Cagerrin and we love absolutely everything about it. There’s a whole host of images available to view on Flickr – click the link above to see more.

Outlawz

Lego Outlaw Datsun 240Z

The Elves are little grumpy today as this find comes from one of you. Suggested via the Feedback page is previous bloggee piratecox‘s mean-looking ‘Outlaw’ Datsin 240Z. Complete with a roll-cage, big rims, flared arches and a front mounted intercooler(?) it’s been built and photographed superbly, and you can see more at the link above.

Two Hundred and Forty Winks

Lego Datsun 240Z

This bewitchingly beautiful creation comes from TLCB favourite _Tiler. A lesson in both brilliant Lego building and exceptional photography, _Tiler’s gorgeous Datsun 240Z is surely one of the mini-figure scale highlights of the year so far.

You can see all the images of _Tiler’s recreation of Japan’s best known classic sports car on Flickr – click the link above to make the jump.

Japan’s E

Lego Datsun 240Z

It’s time for one of your suggestions (much to our Elves’ annoyance), this one being passed on to us via our Feedback page.

The Datsun 240Z might be the prettiest Japanese car ever made (although it does seem to have taken more than a little inspiration form Jaguar’s E-Type), and LegoMarat has done a fine job recreating it in Lego form. It’s remotely controlled too, and you can see the images at his photostream.

Dirty Datsun

Lego Technic Datsun 1600

Lego is designed to be used. Chewed. Dropped down the stairs. And, in this case, rally-driven through autumnal woods. VKTechnic is the builder, the 1970 Safari Rally winning Datsun 1600 is the car, and Power Functions motors are the propulsion. See more of Lego being used as it should be on Flickr or Brickshelf.

Dat Car*

Lego Datsun Roadster

We balance out today’s posts with something befitting the beautiful sunny weather we have outside TLCB office. This lovely little Model Team Datsun Roadster is the work of TLCB regular Senator Chinchilla, and it’s earned a very happy Elf a delicious yellow Smartie. See more of the diminutive Datsun on Flickr.

*You might think this is just another exceeding witty (yeah right!) TLCB title, however it is in fact the name given to the very first Nissan (Datsun) ever manufactured. Yes, it really is!

Brock Racing Enterprises

Lego Datsun 510 BRE

At last, The Lego Car Blog has a proper car to bring you! And quite a legendary one at that. This marvellous Model Team model is a Datsun 510 as raced by BRE during the early-seventies. Underneath the perfectly replicated body-work (complete with accurate custom decals) is a fully remote control Power Functions chassis. It might be Model Team but this creation has a Technic heart. Infraredbrick’s Dastun has appeared on TLCB before in a previous form, but a racing version is always better! See more – including construction photographs – on Infraredbrick’s Flickr photo stream here.

Rising Sun

Image

Senator Chinchilla’s got out his big box of yellow plates again… and joined them together to spectacular effect in the shape of this Datsun 240Z. Notable for its bigness, careful detailing, lovely seats, bigness, many technical niceties, excellent shaping and bigness. See it on MOCpages: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/344722

Datsun 510

Datsun 510

Before Nissan were famous for Skylines and GTRs, they made stuff like this; the wonderful Datsun 510. Infraredbrick has recreated the Japanese pocket rocket, and added a few modifications too. Click his name to find out what they are…
