Tow Tank

M32B1 RecoveryNow this is a tow truck! Based on the Sherman Tank, the M32B1 Recovery vehicle was the perfect tool for rescuing unreliable World War 2 hardware. This brilliant replica is the work of =DoNe=, and you can see more on Flickr.

Rally Classic

Lego Technic Lancia FulviaThis lovely Technic supercar is the legendary Lancia Fulvia HF, a car that won the World Rally Championship and put Lancia on the map as a maker of seriously good fast saloon cars (before it all went wrong in the ’80s). Piterx’s Technic version looks the part and features an epic list of functions, including; Automated Clutch, Front Wheel Drive, RC Gearbox, RC Brakes, Independent Suspension, Power Functions Drive and Steering, Opening Doors and Bonnet… To see all the detail visit the Lancia’s Eurobricks thread here.

Redspeed

Redspeed

Redspeed in the title, but picture is orange…? The Elves, who have been learning the names of the colours, are confused…

Whatever, the orange seems to be done with photoshop, but as orange looks neat we’ll let it slide. The actual model is red, and with the various nifty shapes and nice parts usage almost everywhere Harry Gravett has totally nailed probably the first Lego Marcos LM600 on the net.

Harry’s race-ready road car looks great in any colour, so it’s worth checking out by clicking the link above.

Kult Kombi

Lego Fiat 125P KombiWe like old, slightly rubbish cars here at The Lego Car Blog. This stirling effort was discovered by one of our Elves on Flickr. Built by r a p h y it’s a Polski Fiat 125P Kombi (Station Wagon, Tourer or Estate if you’re not from Eastern Europe), modified in ‘cultstyle’. Which makes it somehow very cool. See more on Flickr at the link above.

One Man Went To Mow…

Lego TractorThe unsung hero of neat lawns everywhere, the butterfly mower keeps golf courses, playing fields and country house grounds well groomed. Seen here attached to a thumping great red tractor, this one is the work of 896gerard_ on MOCpages. Groundsmen of the world salute you Gerard!

SPAAG

Lego ZSU-23-4V1This mean looking device, built by D-Town Cracka on Flickr, is a Self Propelled Anti-Aircraft Gun, or SPAAG for short. This one is a ZSU-23-4V1 made by the Soviets from 1962, and used in a variety of conflicts since.

Due to its light armour the ZSU-23 was vulnerable to anti-tank and machine guns, and as such was usually placed well behind the front line. However, it was very good at shooting things that weren’t strictly aircraft, and thus it was often deployed to urban environments in places like Syria.

News today from the region indicates further massacres of the Syrian people by their own Government. With Syrians fleeing their homes into Turkey, Iraq and other neighbouring countries the refugee crisis is growing daily. Find out more about the crisis, and what you can do to help, via the UN Refugee Agency.

Double Bubble

Lego Steampunk MechThere must be a two-for-the-price-of-one deal on whimsical war machines on Flickr today. Both Legohaulic (above) and Lego Junkie (below) bring some sci-fi tech to wars past with their dome-headed mechs. See more on Flickr via the links.

Heavy Lifting

Lego HelicopterThis Jupiter Heavy Lifting Helicopter is the work of the rather talented Don Quixote 2×4, who’s based his design on the Sikorsky CH-53E Super Stallion. Check out the full gallery on Flickr.

The British Icon

The Elves are still beavering away, bringing us the best creations from around the world. Today this Technic Range Rover by Rabbitdesign MB caught their attention, with the neat combo of loads of great functions and classy looks, he’s nailed it. This week marks the end of mark 3 Range Rover production, as the all new mark 4 reaches showrooms. Hopefully it won’t be long before we see the new version in Lego too. See more on MOCpages via the link above.

Minesweeper

Lego Space TruckMinesweeper. The saviour of mid ’90s office boredom. And also apparently this. Built by LEGOLIZE IT MAN, you can see more on Flickr. Quick, before the smiley face turns frowny.

Ride of the Valkyrie

Lego Mech StarfighterDaikon Cat‘s super impressive Super Valkyrie Variable Fighter is now on LEGO’s Cuusoo programme. Like it? Cast your vote and it could become a real LEGO set. See more on Flickr.

Chinatown

Lego Panda

Be in no doubt, the Chinese are coming. We may be laughing at their products now, but it wasn’t so long ago the West was doing the same to Japanese and Korean car manufacturers. This FAW (First Auto Works) CA1010 with, er… a heavily armed panda in the back, is the work of Bad furday on Flickr.

We think you’ll start seeing FAW and/or their Chinese rivals in Western dealerships within 5 years, with or without militant bears. Another 5 years after that Ford, GM, Toyota, Honda and the rest will likely be very worried indeed…

Mustached Master

Williams Renault FW14BWith the 2013 F1 season well underway we’re looking back at one of the greatest team, engine and driver combinations of all time. Williams, Renault and Nigel Mansell came up with the winning combination in 1992, claiming both the F1 Drivers and Constructors Championships. Mansell also became the only driver to hold both the F1 and CART Championships simultaneously. bobalexander! is the builder of this brilliant Championship-winning Williams-Renault FW14B.
