We like humble vehicles here at TLCB. Sure lots of supercars, hot rods and racing cars appear here, but the world could easily live without those. It couldn’t live without vehicles like this though; Toyota’s little Hiace truck. Things appear to be getting serious in Classic Space. Gone are the days of smiling spacemen conducting peaceful exploration for purposes that no-one ever quite fathomed, today’s classic spaceman is smiling for a whole different reason; he has a really big gun. This slightly Great War-esque space tank comes from TLCB favourite Norton74, who has branched out from his usual impeccable hot rod and truck builds in order to arm LEGO Space’s nice guys. His ‘Blue Bull’ space tank comes complete with a crew of three, a support team, and a nifty looking (and very blue) hangar. This beautiful Ferrari 360 Modena comes from Flickr’s Lennart C, and was suggested by a reader. Built in 1/15 scale Lennart’s Modena features opening doors, hood and trunk, a detailed interior, official LEGO stickers, and excellent photography. This funky Ice Planet rover from Flickr’s Chris Perron rides on some of the best brick-built wheels we’ve ever seen. And if you think rolling on wheels carved from solid ice is a ridiculous idea, you’re right – but that didn’t stop Lexus…
Israel is a force to be reckoned with in the Middle East, thanks largely to some serious U.S-provided hardware. Still, with Russia having provided most of Israel’s neighbours, on which it is not on good terms, with their own tools of death it’s turned out well for everyone… oh wait, no that’s not right.
Anyway, on to this particular instrument of U.S meddling, the glorious McDonnell Douglas F-4E Phantom (re-named ‘Kurnass’ for the Israeli Air Force), which the state used up until their switch to F-16s in 2004. This perfect Lego recreation of the famous fighter comes from TLCB regular and Brothers Bricker Ralph Savelsberg, and you can see all the images at his photostream here.
TLCB favourite shineyu is back, and for his latest build he’s built big. This spectacular creation is a fully working replica of the Caterpillar 390F, and it’s absolutely packed with stunning engineering.
Inside the lifelike bodywork are a range of Power Functions motors and infrared receivers that allow the complete remote control of all of the Caterpillar’s functions.
These include independent drive to each track with skid-steering, a motorised turntable enabling the rotation of the superstructure, and a powered on-board compressor.
Able to generate its own air pressure shineyu’s Caterpillar uses LEGO’s pneumatic system to control the boom arm’s elevation and extension, as well as the movement of the grab/claw-type thingumy mounted on the end (if you know what this is actually called let us know in the comments!).
With four small pneumatic cylinders the claw is powerful enough to lift a variety of fruits (lemon pictured above), or – if you’re a TLCB Elf – grab your head really very tightly indeed and then drop you in the food recycling bin. It was strictly in the name of research…

America is just about emerging from the automotive wastelands it’s been occupying since the late 1970s. Sadly though, Pontiac didn’t survive its stay in the wilderness, dying alongside such names as Saturn, Oldsmobile, and Eagle. But Ralph Savelsberg hasn’t forgotten Pontiac. His recently updated and totally beautiful 1965 Bonneville reminds us of a time when the American car wasn’t a fat joke, and ‘Aztek‘ only referred to an ancient civilisation in South America. Bugatti’s long-awaited successor to Veyron hypercar was probably the star of a packed 2016 Geneva Motorshow. Costing almost $2million the new Bugatti Chiron is set to be the fastest and most expensive car in the world. And it’s also gorgeous, which is perhaps something the Veyron could never be called.
No sooner had the new Chiron been revealed under the spotlights in Geneva than supercar-building legend Firas Abu-Jaber started work on an incredible LEGO version. Two weeks later his Chrion replica is complete, and we have the very first pictures exclusively to share here.

Newcomer Hallbricks is making his TLCB debut today with this neat generic bus. Underneath all those blue Technic liftarms is a full Power Functions remote control drivetrain, with two L motors powering the rear wheels and a Servo controlling the steering, electrically opening doors, and a rear-mounted V6 piston engine.

After several impressively huge and complicated creations we’re going back to basics today with this, Johnni‘s very neat Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, complete with a rigid-inflatable-boat on the roof.
