This superb Town-scale Liebherr LTM crane is the work of TLCB favourite [Maks] on Flickr. [Maks] always packs astonishing detail into his creations and his latest surpasses even his own high standards. See more of his work at the link above.
Science Fiction?
David Roberts’ VTOL (Vertical Take Off and Landing) aircraft may look like the stuff of science fiction, but unbelievably it’s loosely based upon a real aircraft. A heroic failure of an aircraft, but nevertheless a real one. See more of David’s creation on MOCpages, and find out about the actual tail-sitting VTOL airplane that inspired it here.
Russian Monster
This incredible vehicle is a MAZ 7907, built in the 1980s to transport Russian missiles. It was propelled by over 1200bhp, had 24 wheels (all driven), and was more than 28 meters long. Only two were ever built, and thankfully never used for their intended purpose. Only one of the two remains, with the other machine cannibalised to supply parts for the first.
The spectacular recreation of the MAZ 7907 in the picture above is the work of Polish builder Patryk Walerzak. Weighing in at 5.3 KG and at nearly 1.5 meters long, Patryk’s version is one of the largest Technic creations we’ve ever seen. Inside the monster chassis are 6 Power Functions motors and over 100 gearwheels. Because this awesome machine really works. Roscoe, Arrest Them Duke Boys!
For all the police chases, river jumps, car crashes and dodgy one-liners, the Dukes of Hazzard is really all about one thing; Daisy Duke’s hot pants. Thankfully Ralph Savelsberg has thought to recreate them as well as the Dodge Charger that they rode in. See more on Flickr. And then Google Daisy Duke.
Bike Boxing
Welcome to today’s fight! Iiiin the red corner, weighing in at six huuuundred pieces, Billy ‘The Bludgeon’ Burg‘s Duuuucatti! Aaaand in the blue corner, weighing in at one huuuundred pieces, Hot Rod ‘The Impaler’‘s Cafe Raaaaacer!
Beatnik’s Ride
This lovely Ford Taunus DeLux (complete with Beatnik mini-figure!) comes from mijasper on Flickr. Two-tone paint and chrome highlights make this creation one of the nicest small scale vehicles of 2013 so far. See more of the Taunus and mijapser’s other work at the link.
Queen of Hearts
Jon Hall’s H-90 Falcon ‘Queen of Hearts’ looks a formidable, if aerodynamically-challenged, bit of kit. The blonde mini-figure at the controls looks like she’s not taking any prisoners either. See more of Jon’s unconventional flying machines here.
Awesome Sauce

Well, what do we have to say about this? Any Blacktron vehicle full of RC functions is a win/win situation! See more of this awesome vehicle at Vladimir van Hoek’s MOCpage.
The Real Thing
For those of you who miss the work of the amazingly talented Firas Abu-Jaber (currently inactive but the Elves pine for his return), here’s a rather fine Ferrari F50 from StarScream Soundwave (now that’s a name!) in a familiar style. Enjoy it at MOCpages.
Abandon Ship!!*
MOCpages hasn’t been fixed for a week yet, and already the LEGO Community has moved onto a new calamity. You see, a crisis has arisen on Flickr. Well, we say crisis, in reality it’s no more than some children (AFOLs actually – but we amount to the same thing) getting annoyed at Flickr upgrading the site to make it more mobile-device friendly. AFOLs don’t like change. It’s like our kryptonite or something.
As such there are rumblings of an exodus not seen since Moses asked Pharaoh to let his people go. Why does this matter? Well, Flickr is one of the largest LEGO communities on the web, and as such it provides over half the creations for The Lego Car Blog (just take a look through past months’ posts to see its influence).
We’ll be monitoring the situation, and if it appears that we need to redirect a few Elves to a new photo-sharing website (e.g. ipernity) we’ll ensure we give them a nudge in the right direction.
So how can you help? Let us know if you, or others in your LEGO community, are going to make a move from Flickr to another photo-sharing site, or if you are going to stay Flickr-ing and wait for the storm to pass.
Wherever you choose to call your home though, we’ll continue bringing you the best LEGO vehicles that the web has to offer.

*Or don’t – it’s not sinking, management has just changed the lunch menu.
P1
It takes a special sort of builder to build a car that’s not even in production yet. Senator Chinchilla is that sort, and he’s taken a shot at building McLaren’s P1 hypercar before it’s even been seen on the road. You can see more on MOCpages here.
Red Letter Day
A double post today, to stop the two Elves that found these fighting over who gets their find published first. On the left we have Fredoichi‘s ‘MicRod’ (Micro Hot Rod), which seems to find a use for all those fiddly little parts that we can never be bothered with. On the right is Thietmaier‘s Tractor, which he rather accurately describes as ‘small, red, and a little ugly’. Swap the colour and it describes the Elf that found it too. See more of both creations on Flickr.
500 Posts!

Five Hundred (and one)!
Today a rather exciting milestone was reached here at The Lego Car Blog. We’ve published five hundred posts! Well, five hundred and one including this one, but that’s not as snappy a title. Fittingly it’s one of of our newest writers who hit the big five-oh-oh too.
So a rare congratulations to the Elves (we may get them a cake, if we’re feeling generous), and also to you, our readers, without whom we’d have no reason to write. You’ve also contributed 40 or so suggestions to the grand total! (But you don’t get cake.)
As always, keep your suggestions coming, and if you’re interested in joining the team here at The Lego Car Blog, get our attention via the Feedback page in the main menu.

Golden Oldie

Building classic cars in LEGO is fun, largely because a lot of LEGO’s newer smooth pieces look perfectly designed to end up on a mid-’30s roadster.
Here’s a beautiful example of the above; a dinky classic ’30s roadster by Xtopher. See more at MOCpages by clicking the link.
100% Supercar
Well, it is a Lamborghini, after all. It’s a Technic Supercar too, with the full suite of steering, engine, gearbox (5+R) and suspension – the latter by pushrods, no less. Francisco Hartley is your guide to its many secrets.
