Featuring two Mercedes-Benz Actros 8×4 trucks, a Nooteboom steered-trailer and a Volkswagen Transporter, this heavy haulage team is very probably the most impressive multi-model build of the year.
The complete set has been designed and built by the immensely talented Jaap Technic, and each vehicle is one of the most astonishingly well detailed Lego creations that we’ve ever published.
Each Mercedes-Benz Actros truck includes a fully detailed cab inside and out, with the interior reached through opening doors and the V8 engine accessed via a tilting cabin.
Twin XL Motors power the trucks’ driven wheels whilst a Servo Motor turns the front two steering axels of each tractor unit, plus there are working LED lights front and rear, all controlled by a third-party SBrick bluetooth-compatible receiver.
The Volkswagen Transporter convoy support van isn’t left out either, with a trick Brickstuff sourced working light-bar and custom decals throughout.

Ugly, low, and brown – this ZIL 130 fuel tanker could be any number of our Elven workforce. But like them it is useful, as without ground support vehicles such as these, airforces and airlines would operate for about 5 minutes.

This near perfect scale replica of Rey’s Speeder from ‘Star Wars – The Force Awakens’, built by Robert Lundmark of Flickr, is not our usual fodder here at TLCB – but despite our ineptitude with anything sci-fi related we are completely enchanted with it.

Certified LEGO Professional Ryan McNaught is a veteran of these pages with his incredible (and massive) commissioned creations. This is his latest, designed and built by a team of three builders and containing almost 24,000 LEGO pieces, Ryan’s Volkswagen Beetle (complete with a brick-built oil leak!) took nearly 100 hours to construct.
The build pays homage not only to Volkswagen’s iconic People’s Car (the most produced car in automotive history with over 21 million made) but also to the official LEGO Volkswagen Beetle set of 2008, a product which paved the way for the hugely successful authorised manufacturer partnerships that LEGO fans are benefitting from today.

This gorgeous BMW R60 motorcycle by Maxime Cheng has appeared here at TLCB before, but so beautiful is this latest image that we thought it worth a reappearance. This magnificent Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorbike, in full Police Department specification, was found on Flickr today. It’s the work of previous bloggee Andre Pinto and it’s been beautifully chromed by Bubul Chrome to make it shinier than any LEGO set. Yes, yes… this is a digital build, but rules are made to be bent. Plus we really like Futurama! It helps that this replica of the Planet Express ship, digital though it may be, is an utterly perfect mini-figure recreation of the famous cartoon vessel, right down to the complete interior. Nicola Stocchi is the designer behind it and you take a trip to the world of tomorrow by clicking here.
This impressively slick creation comes from newcomer Chiho Kim and it was suggested to us by a reader. Built in a similar scale and style to LEGO’s officially licensed Creator sets like the Caterham Seven, Mini Cooper, and Volkswagen Camper, Chiho’s replica of the infamous Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is packed with details.
There are opening doors, a detailed engine under the opening hood, a fully replicated interior and a detachable rear soft top. We like featuring the unsung heroes of the automotive world here at TLCB. Today’s post is one of them, the humble reach stacker, used to retrieve and pile containers in thousands of depots the world over. The chances are that something you’re using or looking at right now was moved by one of these, and that makes it a more important vehicle than the Bugatti Veyron.
This neat Technic version of the humble automotive sherpa comes from previous bloggee Anto of Eurobricks, and it features rear-wheel steering, a lifting and extending arm complete with functioning clamp, and a working piston engine.
