The world’s second favourite television RV has featured here at TLCB before, and now Flickr’s Ralph Savelsberg (aka Mad Physicist) has taken Dale’s RV from the hit AMC series The Walking Dead to a new level. This flawless recreation the classic Winnebago includes a complete interior, authentic blood splatter, a shotgun-armed Dale, and – of course – a hungry zombie. The Geneva Motor Show has just finished and, as is becoming increasingly common, it was was full of ridiculous supercars with impossible speed and horsepower claims built by companies no-one has heard of. The online Lego community is often much the same with its creations, but every so often a Technic supercar comes along that has the engineering talent to match the bold description by the builder. This is one such car, Madoca 1977‘s incredible ICARUS supercar.
Powered by four large Technic Power Functions motors, with a Servo motor to steer it and two sets of third-party SBrick’s connected to rechargeable battery boxes, Madoca’s supercar has the performance to match its stunning looks. There’s also four-wheel fully independent suspension, opening doors, hood and engine cover, working front and rear lights, and an adjustable rear spoiler.
The ICARUS is one of the most professionally engineered Technic Supercars that we’ve seen in a very long time, and it’s well worth taking a moment to see the depth of skill involved in its creation. When Audi aren’t cheating worldwide emission tests they’re busy developing even more boring SUVs with angry aggressive faces to be driven by angry aggressive drivers. BMW on the other hand, whilst once the tool of choice for sunglasses wearing douchebags, seem to getting progressively classier and more adventurous.
This is one of their recent highlights, the totally and completely beautiful 328 Hommage. Well, this isn’t obviously, as it’s made from LEGO, but it is a worthy homage to their, er… Hommage. Built by Flickr’s Jeroen Ottens it features independent suspension, working steering with Ackerman geometry, a 4-speed gearbox with auto function, and a 6-cylinder piston engine.

This slick slate-coloured hot rod was suggested to us by a reader. It comes from previous bloggee DrDesignz who has returned with this beautiful and unusually hued Model Team build. There’s more available via Eurobricks – click the link above to make the jump.
No, not that LEGO Porsche, but it’s just as good. This is the latest classic racing car to come from Greg998. and it’s a special one. Porsche’s late ’80s 962C won pretty much everything in sports and endurance racing, including Le Mans in 1986 and 1987.
Greg’s version is one of the three 962Cs entered in the 1988 event, and it features with working steering, suspension, a detailed turbo-charged flat-6 engine, and the 962C’s incredible aero-bodywork – complete with authentic period decals.

Ah the Eagle Talon. A car we know nothing about, seeing as it wasn’t available in our home nation. Or continent. Still, a re-badged Mitsubishi Eclipse sold by a company created by Chrysler that no-one had ever heard of would surely do well? Eagle folded (get it!) in 1999, eleven years after it launched, and the world kept turning, but this Model Team recreation of their (actually not bad) Talon sports coupe is rather nice. Serial bloggee Senator Chinchilla is the builder, and you can see more here.

This beautiful Mack B75 was discovered by one of our Elves on Flickr. It’s been built by DB_Kit Fisto and it is – as you can see here – a rather lovely thing to behold. It’s not just a static display piece either, as underneath there’s a full remote control drivetrain, working suspension, and LED headlights. You can see more at Kit’s photostream via the link.

Unlike last night’s Oscars (props to Leonardo DiCaprio for his climate change winners speech), this lovely little rat rod by TLCB favourite _Tiler includes every colour, and just look at how excellent it is as a result! Something of a metaphor for cohesive society…

It’s been a ridiculously busy few days here at TLCB. Thanks to several online contests running concurrently our Elves have been finding huge numbers of top quality vehicles for us to blog. As February draws to a close we’ll be able to slow things down a bit, much to the relief of our typing fingers, but we’ll part the month with one final contest entry, and it’s from one the best builders anywhere in the world.
This incredible 1956 Ford F-100 pick-up comes from TLCB Master MOCer and Professional Builder Nick Barrett, and is his entry into the LUGNuts ‘100 Ways to Win’ competition.
At a huge 44 studs wide Nick’s truck is one of the most detailed models of the year so far, but with such complex curves we think all 44 studs were probably needed! Underneath that beautiful full-stud bodywork is a full Technic supercar chassis, with a perfectly recreated V8 engine, 4-speed gearbox, working steering, and – somewhat weirdly – adjustable air suspension.

If our Elves were to design a fire truck it would probably look a bit like this. Firstly it wouldn’t be red, because fire trucks are supposed to red and the Elves are idiots. Secondly, anything of value for extinguishing a fire would be thrown away and replaced with something likely to cause one. A jet engine for example. And finally, it would feature styling by a six year old on a lot of sugar.
Moritz‘s ‘Afterburner’ drag racing fire truck has thus ticked all our Elves’ boxes, and has caused quite a lot of them to run around the office making ‘NEE-NOR!’ noises.
